The Omega Constellation Globemaster Co-Axial Master Chronometer features a 39mm stainless steel case surrounding a silver dial on a black leather strap. Functions include hours, minutes, seconds and date. The watch also measures mm in diameter, mm in thickness, and mm from lug-to-lug.

With the 100 meter WR and the Master Chronometer movement, this is the dress watch that will satisfy the active man. It is deceptively rugged while being refined enough to wear in the board room, or after 6pm. I wish the crown were screw down, but I trust that Omega has the push-pull crown movement secure and solid.

This looks great. This is what I am saving for as an everyday watch. Great movement. Classy look that can be both dressy and casual and falls somewhere in between. 100m water resistance. Anti-magnetic. Clean dial. Cool history of the watch. Great display caseback.

The spirit longines case looks exactly like that in terms of finishing. I wish longines create a variant of the spirit with indices sans numerals. 😮

Very nice work as always Tim... I like Omega (& I like this watch) but I also like Rolex. I understand the spacing or the distance between the fluting (?) is finer compared to the Rolex fluted bezel and that some Omega watches used to have similar bezels in the early days, I just feel that the fluted bezel look is very much a Rolex look these days. Cheers

The Rolex bezel is gold and shinier, and the white gold looks amazing when catching the light a certain way. A little flashy for me personally, but can really look awesome.

I try to think of it as a ridged rather than fluted bezel, because Rolex truly owns the latter. Omega needed to take some measure to declare the presence of tungsten, and the ridged texture was a judicious choice. As you note, it does have a measure of precedent from Omega's historic catalog. Well the fluting on rolex is much later than the ref 168.017 that made in mid 60es

Rolex also use a steel fluted bezel that looks similar (less shiny).

Are you sure the movement is made by ETA (albeit exclusively for Omega)? I know they're both owned by the same company, but I thought Omega made all their movements in their new factory (but might use some parts from ETA). It's hard to find an authoritative answer to this question, but you've stated this view more than once, so just wondering how certain you are.

Nice... but not as nice as the 1950s piepan arrowhead hour marks cal 2852 no date with dauphine hands...

True, but everyday wearability, warranty, and water resistance recommend the newer watch to some. Not all collectors are a good match for the treacherous marketplace, usage restrictions, and petite sizing of the vintage scene, and this Globemaster is a good match for that group. Best, Tim

That would be the first omega sedna gold watch which is a constellation with that arrowhead dial with 8500 movement
