To have Vulcan Havoc Cyclops Cable Nate Grey Stryfe and Madelyn Pryor Hope Summers and Jean Grey who is the fucking Phoenix! all in the same place is not even conceivable
This was one of my favorite stories when I was collecting the X-titles. The introduction of Cable and all his supporting characters from his time including Stryfe was just awesome. I had always hoped to see a high quality animated series depicting this time in the X-Men comics. I've always wanted to get figures from this era too. Would love to see a line of figures inspired by Jim Lee's amazing artwork.
Because they don't own the movie rights to mutants. They can't even say mutants in the MCU. Since Disney now owns Marvel then their ultimate goal is the bolster the cinematic universe. They big whigs upstairs could give two shits about the comics beyond what they provide for the movies, video games and other media.
I think DC is more over powered it's like normal man or Godly. Marvel has a lot more in between those two. Fuck even Batman is possibly the most OP superhero and he doesn't even have any powers!
I always liked Stryfe & his costume. He's very imposing & looks somewhat like a Roman warlord. I like Marvel because they tend to give their more powerful characters capes, unlike DC, which for a time tried to give every character a cape. Given his tremendous psi-powers, Stryfe could afford to wear this costume (always liked him w/o the helmet though). Mobility isn't an issue for him, since he could fly thru telekinesis. I never understood how anything can be "beyond omega level", when omega level mutants are suppose to have no power limitations.
I would have thought omega is planetary level, anywho most DC characters that have caps are pretty powerful as it goes, sups MMH, shazam, the bat characters are really the only ones that aren't, also thanos doesn't wear one nor does apocalypse or galacus?, also storm and moonnight have capes just sayin
Rob you don't know how much this video NEEDED to be made!!! For the longest you would always mention how everyone wanted Cable because he was so ridiculously POWERFUL, yet when you spoke about him and his what he did compared to other mutants Cable always seemed simple. Now we see that without diverting his energy to stopping the virus, what a fully powered Cable can do.
K- GURUNG That stuff about controlling atoms is I believe speculation because that is practically the same power as Owen Reese, and Stryfe ain't no Owen Reese or he would never lose. Magneto is also practically a god in his own right being able to control magnetism now. As for that stuff about being able to pass through Magneto's helmet I'm not so sure of. I don't know if Magneto's helm was ever passed through by anyone but I think Magneto was able to resist Red Onslaught in Axis so that is a reference point. However Axis was so stupid that it could hardly be used to judge this.
***** I would agree with you when Magneto could only control metal but nowadays magnetism=whatever the writer wants. Especially ultimate Magneto who can literally break the earth
+ThatAnimeSnob that's the thing about magnetism. It's not really a thing. It's electro magnetism, which is practically everything in the universe, matter is simple electro magnetic force in a different state. Magneto by all rights should be omega, in theory he could unravel the foundational building block of the universe
Hey Rob, thanks for all these videos! Love your channel. At some point down the line, can you do a series on Whedon's Astonishing X-Men? Good stories need to be spread to as many people as possible, and you sir are a master.
Hey Rob your right that Stryfe took on all of the heroes and Apocalypse. But remember, Apocalypse was severely weakened. What I found very very interesting though, was when Apocalypse was at full strength and Stryfe was easily defeated. Which I thought spoke volumes on how powerful Apocalypse is.
You should add alittle more character analysis into your vids. What do you know about Stryfe mind set, do you like the character and that kind of thing.
There needs to be a story, an event even: Stryfe vs Franklin Richards. That way you bring back both the Richards family and mutants back to the main landscape
X-cutioners song was my favorite X-men story that I got to experience in real time when I was growing up...I think i was in high school when it came out...
Stryfe is such a boss. The problem is Marvel can't really use Stryfe and Apocalypse at there fullest because they can't let the bad guys win. They only let Doctor Doom off the leash every once in awhile, but they recently let him defeat Thanos of all characters, so it's clear they play favorites as far as villains go.
I really enjoyed him as a villain. Thought they did pretty neat things with the character. Granted it's up the ante type stuff where suddenly the only people to show up are over 9,000 but still given the intricate nature of the summers family it seemed to fit
I was thinking the same thing throughout the video. Similar to how Michael Myers is a badass because he simply walks and never runs, a serious, powerful, badass mutant should wear something simple, and mobile. I wasn't really a fan of Watchmen, but I did love the character design of Dr. Manhattan for that point.
When you have Omega level telekinesis, able to move anything with your mind, even yourself, or objects to yourself, does flexibility in a costume really matter that much? But if you want to wear something scary and menacing to strike fear in people looking at you, now THAT's a win! Even better if they underestimate someone who would wear such a thing, only to find out how wrong they are when they get their heads crushed by a thought. Also, Stryfe's outfit was made from future tech 2,000+ years in the future, so who knows, it could be more flexible than the best skin-tight outfit of modern day Earth.
Loved this video! And the whole series it’s so good to see the real x-men being explained and some appreciation of the stories the writers made. 21st century fox nearly killed this franchise by not understanding the source material I hope Disney does these comics some justice
I really hope when casting Cable in Deadpool 2, they take account the actor will be playing Stryfe in (please, please, please, etc., et al.) a Cable/Six Pack/X-Force movie
why didn't apocalypse body jump into styfe when he was sent into the future? or infect him with the technovirus? I have a suggestion for a video if you haven't done it already. basically retcons, the best, the worst, the most famous etc.
i didn't know about Stryfe and he looks bad ass sort of like a cross between apocalypse and thor with that outfit. isnt there another clone or something with another name ???
his costume, its like he tries too hard to have people know that hes a badass..... with the spikes and stuff, and his helmet too.... oh god.... his helmet.....
Growing up and reading comics in the early 90's ... A few friends and I always wanted to believe that Cable was the clone and Stryfe was the original. It wasn't until way later on when Marvel finally came out with the Origin stories, they ruined our hopes and dreams :D
