In 1957 Omega laid the foundation for the company's modern future releasing a trilogy of "masters" - the Speedmaster, the Seamaster and the Railmaster. The latter was the watch for doctors, engineers, the railways and other places with a lot of magnetism. Since the watch has lived a life in the shadows of it's two big brothers. In 2017 Omega revived the model which I in depth review in this video,

I love this watch. I tried it on a few years ago and it fit perfectly. You're right, the dial is the star of the show, it's so easy on the eyes and easy to read. Thanks for the great review.

Im sorry Rolex but Omega has the edge when you take their grey market prices into account. At sub 4 grand this watch is fantastic.

Great review - I agree they are beautiful watches. Will be very interesting to see how they age. But why are brands remaking 1950s "heritage" style watches at 40mm+ ? I think they missed a trick by not going < 40mm.

Very nice. I like the styling of the 1957 homage a little better. 38mm is a good size for an everyday watch.

Really great review with awesome video quality showing the dial and all the details of this watch. So hard to choose between the black and the blue dial version. The Seamaster branding is just a bit strange and wish they would have some kind of railroad caseback.

It's not a seahorse, it is a hippocampus( a femail water spirit) as the case is a seamaster.That's why it has a screwdown crown I have a black faced Railmaster.

What special task was this watch designed for that it is considered a tool watch. Besides telling time which most watches do. Does that mean all watches that tell time are tool watches? Maybe l am missing something....

Hi Derek. Originally it was designed with the purpose of being a very accurate legible watch for professions with high magnetism. Those professionels needed precise timing for their tasks but this was not easy to obtain because of magnetised movements making the watches very inaccurate. Best regards, Anders

Hej Jesper. Det er et fantastisk ur. Forhandleren hedder Your Luxury Time LTD og de er fra Ungarn, men de fandt uret til mig hos en italiensk forhandler. De er på Chrono24. God jagt :)
