I originally tried to buy a submariner but was treated awfully by the minimum wage shop assistant at the Rolex AD. I then went to an omega AD and was treated like a king and walked out with the blue seamaster.I’m glad I did,the blue with bits of red just pops and omega have a loyal customer for life.
the 90's version bracelet was narrower, and did not seem to be designed to look flat like the newer ones are. They are made to resemble tank tracks in my opinion. These bracelets were actually made in France.
I got mine a little over a month ago, blue with metal bracelet, I’ve been checking the accuracy, so far it’s running about 0.4 seconds fast per day, or about 12 seconds per month, that’s slightly better than my friends Rolex, I have no real complaints, it’s my everyday tool watch.
I don’t miss my Rolex, submariner, and my Tudor Pelagos is always in danger of being traded in… But my Seamaster professional with white dial isn’t going anywhere…
This is a great watch. I bot mine in 1998 and had it serviced just once and it’s been my daily watch since. And with regards to the manual helium valve; just one piece of advice. Get over it. It’s not a deal breaker and brings uniqueness to the brand
I bought my omega Seamaster 300 back in 2004, and it was my first luxury dive watch purchase. I’ve never had any issues with the anti-reflection coat at all. And I’ve never had any other type of issues with it. Also it is about 39 mm in size which goes well with my small wrist. I wish companies would stop just making giant 42 mm dive watches. And most of the dive watches I see are Rolex submariners.
I have last gen Planet Ocean and I have scratched the anti-reflection coating. But I'm also kind of active and treat the PO like a beater watch. The scratch is really not noticeable during the regular wear and I only notice it if it bright out and I'm looking carefully at the watch. I understand why Adrian mentioned it since it will bother some people, but it's also not a big deal at all.
I now have 3 Omegas, collected over a few years, my Speedmaster was a gift from my wife, the Aqua Terra bought by my Grandma, and finally the Seamaster, which I actually wear the least, Speedmaster still my favourite, but I’ve wanted one since I was 11 year old, and my wife bought me it 😊
I think you’re one of the only big RU-vid Watch Reviewers that actually show a simple clear clip of the bezel action. So many just brush over that as a thing that people do. So thank you
Bezel action is important, lume but overall the functionality, performance and comfort of the bracelet is problably like on the top of items to worry about when purchasing any watch. My Rolex Oyster bracelet from my GMT- II coke dial from 2005 looks amazing now, plus the bracelet itself is comfortable and requires no care.
I got one as a retirement gift and I am surprised about how hard (slippery) to grip the bezel, wish it had more groves to better turn it, but besides that loving it.
first of all, that is much too generous of you to call be a "big RU-vid reviewer" haha! I'm still so tiny in the space! ^_^ But you know, I really wish I showed more bezel and explained it more than I did. But yeah, I feel like we deserve better from Omega! >=|
@@BrittPearceWatches for the price of an Omega, the bracelet should be their immediate concern in terms of finishing, wearability, functionality and long term durability. If you look at Christopher Ward, their bracelets seems pretty solid given the price point of the watches they offer.
I've been watching your channel for over a 1.5 years now and have never commented. This video was absolutely wonderful, keep up the good work and I wish you a speedy recovery!
I have the midsize Goldeneye SMP 300 and I love it! It really is a unique dive watch due to the wave dial, HE valve, scalloped bezel and 5 link bracelet. I thought I would hate the bracelet but I think its one of the most comfortable. That diver's extension is amazing. The bezel action for my watch is good but it can be hard to grip at times. The HE valve doesn't bother me at all. Sure, its useless to most people but I find it charming. The James Bond connection is a big reason why i like the HE valve. It can't be denied that the Omega Seamaster Professional has massive cool factor. The value is also a big contender. It's not for everyone but the fans REALLY like it
I never wore any Omegas until today funnily. I spent about an hour in my AD (he just kept bringing out more and more watches, and bringing out the champagne) and in the end I settled on the Aqua Terra 38mm. I even tried on the Moonshine gold, and for a laugh the Seamaster Planet Ocean Ultra Deep! I never had an appreciation for Omega up until today. Now I really do (well done for the AD doing his job well, hah).
I like the bracelet as you said it's very distinctive and part of the Seamaster look. Also on this kind of 5 link design a taper to the bracelet would look weird because the link's wouldn't be symmetrical down it's length.
Traded in my Rolex submariner for a white dial Omega Seamaster professional. Love it and like that there aren’t a ton of fakes out there. I’m also Glad to have an Omega from 1950, my birthyear.
3:03 13,5" is a pretty thick watch... I think you mean 13,5 mm here 😉 I must say I'm underwhelmed with the grippiness of the bezel, I found it pretty cumbersome to operate.
Bought this in black over 2 years ago. I love this watch and wear it almost every day. The bracelet isn’t my favorite style but it is very comfortable and functional. It doesn’t look big at all on my 7 1/4 in wrist. It has been 2 seconds fast per day over 2 years. The bezel takes some getting used to but slides easily under a cuff. The helium escape valve is unnecessary but you don’t notice it when on wrist. Great watch for the price.
This probably an unpopular opinion, but I find the design to be way too busy for a dive watch. Too many finishes, shapes, and materials to be cohesive. Some of these elements detract from its tool watch functionality. I get the impression that the designers asked the product manager what design elements to apply and the answer was “all of them”. I agree that the build quality and feature set are a massive bargain at the price point. So much so that it really doesn’t make sense where this watch sits in Omega’s pricing range. It should be more expensive than an Aqua Terra. Makes me think that the 300M is a loss leader to get people into the brand.
The diver 300m (in blue) is my second luxury watch purchase with the 1st being the latest iteration of the speedy pro (sapphire sandwhich) so I guess this makes me now an official Omega fanboy; or one in the making. With that said, although I don’t have a ton of experience (but have spent a lot of time watching and reading up on reviews and trying on watches) I have to say this watch, in my humble opinion, is striking. It has presence, without being too beefy. It’s thick, but considering it’s a diver with sapphire crystal, I believe 13.6mm is an impressive size. The dial, I’ve found to be gorgeous. You hear people say it’s a chameleon and it’s true. Depending on the lighting conditions this dial completely changes from a dark navy to light blue and even appears almost midnight blue in darker conditions. Being a teen of the 90s and and growing up loving the tag s-link integrated bracelet, I have to say this watch also has an iconic style. I also purchased the rubber strap with the omega buckle clasp and this totally adds to the sportiness of the design and transforms the watch. If people have issues with the band, that’s probably the easiest fix and mod you can perform on a watch. I find the bracelet, along with the helium escape valve, skeletonized hands, and dial gives this watch so much character it really stands out from the crowd. One final note, there’s another popular RU-vid influencer who has the diver 300m and wears the heck out of the watch who hasn’t had any issues with the coating. So, maybe it depends on how the user wears the watch and if the dial gets a hard direct hit. something to take note of, for sure, but it sounds as though it’s a very superficial marking that you really need to look hard to find. I feel if you’re on the fence to buy this watch, go for it. Chances are, you won’t regret it. Love your channel and reviews, hope your healing process goes quickly and you’re doing and amazing job putting out new content!
Wow Britt your house looks lovely. I have the black dial version of the Diver 300 but also want a blue dial. I’ll wait and see what happens this Anniversary year.
Love this video. The SMP was my first “proper” watch and if you twisted my arm would probably be my only if I had to choose. One point on the helium escape valve; love it or loathe it at least it gives us watch geeks something to lecture unsuspecting muggles on at dinner parties!
I agree with you on the bracelet. Looks very 90’s and to me it actually gives it a dress watch vibe. It doesn’t look like a bracelet for a tool watch. My favourite model of the Seamaster is the titanium 2231.50
My daily piece is a Omega SMPc 300. Waveless dial in black. Personally love the uniqueness of the HE valve and bond bracelet. Sets apart from every other watch on the market and I love that. The newer iterations are a bit flashy with the waves and oversized for most individuals. Wish they would step it back to 40 or 41mm like the good old days…
I love the look but it's just too small for my 8 and a quarter inch wrists, i've just bought the Seamaster planet ocean 6000m co-axial master chronometer. The 45.5 fits me perfectly, I love Omega.
Great review. I recently picked up one on the rubber, stunning build quality. The height however is a challenge vs my other stuff. Let’s see how the summer goes with it
bought a Subbie back in 86 and it wore it every day for 36 years. I was ready to retire it and get a Seadweller Redline and was told if I bought 5k of jewelry I didn’t want I would be placed on a waiting list. Screw them. So I had the Subbie completely redone with a new bracelet. It looked brand new. It just didn’t scratch the itch. So I started looking for something else and found that there are watches out there that are just plain better than the crown. I saw this Omega on line and read all I could find. Sure the Blancpaine Fifty Fathoms is absolutely wonderful, but the 300m was just so damn beautiful. I went to Richmond last August, walked into Schwartchilds and told the girl I wanted a blue dial 300m. I was treated like a king and 15 minutes the decision was made. I absolutely love wearing this watch and the Subbie has now been retired. I have learned this about Rolex, most people buy one for the “effect” it has on other people. Many think it will open doors, cause people to whisper behind their hand, or kick the dirt because they don’t have one, when in all actuality they don’t give a shit what you have on your wrist. Go try on a Sub then try the 300and buy the watch for you not for some bullshit status symbol. My farm watch is a G Shock and it’s a fantastic watch, just love it. Last thought, in the 30 plus years I wore the Rolex the one comment I heard the most was, “Man, is that real or a fake?” So buy what you want.
Great review Britt, as always. Anti reflective coating on the outside isn’t a great feature, aids in clarity, but it will scratch if you’re heavy handed with your watches. Helium Escape valve, decisive as it is, if it wasn’t there the Seamaster would loose some of it’s identity. Bracelet, NEEDS TO TAPPER!!!! All said and done love the SMP 300. Desperate for a reissue of the 2254.50 though. Cheers
Great video, Brittany, thank you. Another channel photoshopped changes to smp300m: took out he valve, tapered bracelet, changed 12:00 marker... it all SOUNDED good, but then seeing it, well, it looked too Rolex Subby, to me, anyway.
The bracelet is criminally underrated imo! I think it looks amazing and has great functionality. It gives the watch a masculin and heavy feel but being comfortable at the same time.
Looks are subjective, maybe comfort is too, but that bracelet is not comfortable at all. The lack of a taper makes the watch legit uncomfortable to wear all day. I went with the rubber strap which is amazing.
@@bluemystic7501comfort is subjective too. it is comfy. others are more comfortable, but it also depends how you wear your watch. if you wear it behind your wristbone, like the classic gents do, no problems at all. if you wear watches directly at your wrist infront of the wristbone, people also complain of the crown digging into the wrist if they bend it. yeah the the bracelet is not comfy. just wear the watch properly.
The bracelet is the most hated thing about this watch. It looks so dated and too busy. I'm tempted to sell my previous generation version for this very reason. I should have got a submariner when they were readily available 6 years ago.
@@bluemystic7501the bracelet is universally seen as ugly and dated. Ask anyone on the street who is not blind. It is the worse thing about the watch. Beauty is subjective but because you have no taste and no one agrees with you doesn't mean it is criminally underrated. I cannot legit think of an uglier bracelet. Get it on a Nato asap please.
I have a very soft spot in my heart for Omega and the Brosnan-era SMP as it was my first luxury watch. But I do wish they come out something that is styled similarly to a military-Seamaster. The current SMP is too large, too blingy, too fanciful and not the most functional (skeletonized hands hurt the lume performance, the scalloped bezel is not the easiest to turn).
I love the bracelet, but I'm with you that I don't like the fact that it is so identifiable. So majority of the time, I have it on the Omega rubber strap for the seamaster. Gives it a more subtle and sporty look.
The Seamaster Professional 300 (White Dial) is my daily and its simply amazing IMO. Very versatile. Unlike most, I love the non-tapering bracelet - just stands out as a differentiator in look and feel. Bezel action stiff, but irrelevant for me. Only dink I have is that while the applied markers have amazing lume - the skeleton hands are so thin that viewing them after a bit in the dark is super difficult, despite the excellent lume. As always, great content!
I owned the white dial for a bit. Very fun watch, but IMO overrated. Bracelet comfort was utter dogshit. Bezel usability was utter dogshit. As you mentioned, lowlight legibility was utter dogshit. Great watch, highly recommend.
You know! I sooo agree with your “dink”. This wasn’t something I noticed until I was watching my B Roll footage back and I thought the same thing!!! 💕✨
I own the blue, and like you, my daily. Gym, running, anything. You name it. I also like the bracelet, very masculine. I have a 7.375" wrist, so I like a larger watch and bracelet.
This convinced me that the Rolex Submariner can be priced at most 20% to 30% higher for the better bracelet and marketing efforts. No way double the price of this Seamaster! The helium escape valve is just a Seamaster historical signature and not ugly or inappropriate. Why insist on removing it?
It's not just the bracelet and marketing. The Submariner is better in almost every regard. I’ve owned both for several years, and a lot of this is objective. The others who get defensive when I list the reasons are either mad that they can’t get a Submariner from an AD or want to convince themselves the Seamaster is equal at a cheaper price point which it isn't. It IS a substitute. However, it is not a better watch from a practical, wearable standpoint. Starting outside and working our way in, the Submariner is thinner and slides under a cuff with ease. The lug to lug is WAY more manageable (lug to lug of the Seamaster is the same of an Explorer 2 which is absurd). The clasp is not as bulky, and using the extension system does not lengthen the clasp. These are important because you don't want to catch your wrist on a doorframe with a watch this large. The bezel action is far superior whereas the scalloped bezel is hard to turn. The platinum inlay is higher quality. If you look at the SMP enamel up close you notice all the holes throughout the material, it's porous looking. The platinum inside the Rolex bezel does not fade over time, so it is equal to enamel in this regard. The Rolex bezel is a 10, the SMP bezel is a 6.5. The SMP bracelet is really bad and pulls hair. It also doesn’t have any taper. Your only alternative is the rubber strap which feels a lot better but doesn't have a deployment clasp, it's a pin buckle. The deployment clasp is another 500 DOLLARS... For a SS Deployment clasp lol. The outer AR coating scratches and when it does, it looks ugly. Most importantly, the skeleton hands lume sucks. It fails it’s only role as a dive watch because the lume on the green minute hand dies far before the blue indices do, and it's something none of the reviews say for some reason. As for movements, the Rolex has a much better power reserve. The Rolex is also more accurate. Omega accuracy is guaranteed to 0/+5 seconds per day. That is a 6 second window. The Rolex accuracy is guaranteed to +2/-2 (a 5 second window). Don't forget that the Rolex accomplishes this with the use of a traditional Swiss lever which is way more impressive AND a less complicated movement than the co-axial. The Rolex movement will beat at 8hz while the Omega beats at a choppy 7bph. This is the most important part about the movement because it's something you can see throughout daily wear. The Omega hands will never be as smooth and the model doesn't even trade better power reserve for it. The service intervals are going to be the exact same with the Rolex costing slightly more which doesn't make sense because the whole point of the co-axial is to have a longer service interval. Lastly, people will throw the METAS certification like it automatically makes the Omega movement better. It doesn't. Most of Tudor uses movements that are METAS certified now. You know who the parent company of Tudor is...? Rolex. If Rolex gave a shit about some METAS certification, all their movements would pass with flying colors. But Rolex is a company that prefers to do everything in house, down to the bracelets and screws, and that includes their own certification which is the superlative. The Rolex is more refined and most who own both agree with this; I can actually wear it on my smaller wrist and it doesn't look like a kid trying to wear a G-Shock.
Britt, I am rather surprised that you reviewed a dive watch AND live on an island, without taking it into the ocean! I own the 300M and absolutely love wearing it!
@@BrittPearceWatches 😊 Britt, and I thought you were Jacques Cousteau’s daughter. Just kidding around. I like your vids since you take the perspective of us as collectors.
Brittany, your videos are the very best! Please make more of them as often as you can! Thank you for your absolute honesty in evaluating the Omega Seamaster 300M Dive Watch. I believe the best strap is the Omega blue rubber strap that is an option available at purchase. The 300M is a great value at half the price of a Submariner at the Rolex AD, which of course, they don't have any to sell!
It's not a true Seamaster video without mentioning a Submariner. 😅 I feel one of the unsung pros of the Seamaster is the on-the-fly adjustment. While the Glide Lock is supposed to be class leading, I feel Omega's micro adjustment has the benefit of being able to adjust it without taking the watch completely off the wrist.
Google ‘Omega Clasp Issues’. They often either fall open or lock shut! The locking shut thing (then having to have the watch unscrewed from your wrist) has been going on for years and still affects current production SMP300’s.
@@alfieakaronaldog yeah, I have firsthand experience. I'm not saying it's necessarily better than the Glidelock, but I do like that I can keep the watch on wrist while I adjust the Omega clasp.
@@JLUnit416 Yes I can see it’s handy. A good bracelet is so underrated and it’s a massive part of the watch for me. It’s funny how people defend the absolutely awful and completely unadjustable Grand Seiko bracelets when at the other end of the scale you have one that can be adjusted under a cuff without even looking at it!
I purchased an Omega Seamaster in 2003. It was my only watch for 15 years. When I purchased it I didn’t new much about watches, had no idea this was in any way associated with James Bond and…I had no idea it was a divers watch. I purchased it because I new Omega was a respected brand, I could afford it and it was beautiful. It is fascinating that my dear Seamaster was defeated when it filled with water while taking a shower…and it never gave accurate time (I guess my standards for timekeeping far exceed the capabilities of mere mechanical watches…so is life). So no it was not a perfect watch in my experience. And I have since moved on to far better things. But it is still very beautiful to my eyes!
@@svfutbol20 I didn’t had it service by Omega. It was too expensive for me. My local watch repair shop inspected the watch and got it running again before I sold it. They told me the water got in through the HE scape valve, which I never touched. Even though it was working I sold it as water damaged. Wanted to keep it honest. Now none of my current watches require service which is great. Still after 5 years we should all be aware, no mater the brand or model, of the gasket limitations as they decay over time. Thank you for your comment.
@@JuanPerez-sv8qs Every watch requires service, and it’s a shame you never serviced your Omega. If you could afford it new, you could afford a few hundred dollars for a service every 5 years. These instruments require care, and I hope you’ve learned your lesson in that regard.
@@svfutbol20 Yes the Omegas require service to keep them ticking. But not all watches require service, or winding, or new batteries. I no longer own any mechanical watches. You may not prefer other kind of watches. But the fact is non-mechanical watches do perform far better, with a lot less hassle and a far lower intro cost. And they can be quite beautiful and made of excellent materials. Just broaden your horizons and consider what else is out there. You will be pleasantly surprised. As I have posted in other watch forums, one of my great watch pleasures is opening my watch box in the morning and having all my modern watches telling exactly the same time (because they self synchronize overnight) knowing I don’t need to wind nor service nor change a battery every couple of years on any of them. Some have plastic bodies, some are stainless steel bodies and some are titanium. Most have anti-reflective coated Safire glass. I go diving with all of them (all are 10-20 atm water resistant). Average cost: $775/each. A clue: they ALL come from Japan.
@@JuanPerez-sv8qs Seiko Astrons or Citizens, no? They all require battery replacements eventually. Sorry, but battery watches are about as interesting as iPods and Electric cars. They’re disposable. I’m more of a vinyl record, flat-six, manual gearbox kinda guy. I love when my Planet Ocean is off a couple minutes at the end of the week, it lets me pause and admire it as I set the time on Monday morning.
I'm a little confused on the bezel action. Not that super educated on high-end watches, could you tell me what you felt was wrong with the clicking rotating function? Thank you : )
Check out the short she posted yesterday. 👍🏽 In short, the grip isn’t good, and the ratchet is a little sloppy and doesn’t feel as crisp as others available.
Oh Britt! 1. Having owned a Seamaster for 27 years no I have to say: 1. The bezel noise…, very distinctive. Very cool. Helium escape valve looks cool. Has no real function to me, but just a cool gadget. Now, let’s come to the bracelet. The bracelet is called the Tank Track bracelet and it does look like the track on a tank. Overall, lovely watch.
I understand conventional wisdom says buy it on a bracelet.... but the rubber straps are the best looking option everyday as well as the most functional and a majority of the reviews I've seen say the same. It wants a rubber strap.
A lady friend who worked in a male-dominated industry for a while wanted to fit in and so started to rocking a 44mm Panerai. She still wears it regularly and it looks great on her. Size is just a number. Wear what you like.
I owned this watch for almost 4 years but black on black rubber strap. It was incredible! I moved it to get extra cash for the Polar Explorer II, but I wish I could've kept it.
Interesting. It’s crazy how marketing and brand equity makes you sell a more technically superior watch and buy a technically inferior watch for twice the price (assuming you paid retail). 😂
I missed it when I sold it based on sentimental value and the memories I made with the watch on, but I'm not yearning to get another one. That comment was more for the person who may be contemplating purchasing one. I bought the Omega back in 2019 when I originally wanted a Batman. Local AD at the time said no chance so I went and bought an Omega. Fast forward 3 years and that AD lost their license. The new AD is awesome and I have a great relationship with them. They were able to land me a Batman after some time and they are truly awesome! Now that I have a great relationship with an AD, I don't have any interest in buying Omega. They're great watches, but I'd rather buy a Rolex with my money. LV Sub Date is next on the list so I don't see myself buying another SMP, but I still think they're beautiful watches and sound mechanical tools if this is someone's first luxury watch purchase.
Good review, fresh take is nice. I'm a big Omega fan and agree that it's an objectively outstanding watch, and a great value. I bought the same blue one and eventually sold it on. I just thought it was too big, which is amazing because I love my 2254; hard to believe that 1mm could make that much difference. My likes: Unique and interesting design. Exceptional quality and timekeeping. Dislikes: Bezel hard to turn with wet or sweaty fingers (form over function). No taper bracelet with huge clasp and too many sharp edges (I actually liked the design, though). Keep up the good work!
3:43 if the seamaster is the most interesting and best value *** mid-tier *** diver that you can buy, then what's the most interesting and best value top-tier dive watch that you can buy? And for the love of god , don't say the Rolex submariner as that is most certainly also a mid-tier diver. Personally, I think the Rolex submariner is the most interesting and best value mid-tier dive watch you can buy. But then the question remains, what's the most interesting and best value top-tier/high end dive watch you can buy?
I think that a lot of Omega buyers go through the same path. 1. Try to get into the role AD. 2. Getting our rolex AD, showing them the middle finger. 3. Heading to Omega to buy a Seamaster. I own Summerblue it is awesome! ))
I have previously written off the current generation of SMP300 to be too chunky for smaller wrists. Seeing Mr. Gringa who is similarly wrist-girthed as me. I’m reconsidering this.
I just picked up a pristine 2264, exactly the same case, etc as 2254 but with Quartz movement. It's beautiful, and the tapered 'speedy' bracelet is so much nicer than the current lineup. AND only 11.4mm thick!! I think Omega need to re-visit the 2254 when they re-design the 300m, bring back the broad swords and fix the damn braclet....😃
When you compare this to the Pelagos it is thinner and the Pelagos is more of a tool watch. the white dial which i have is awesome. you are completely correct about the bracelet.
I STILL own a Seamaster 300 Chrono from the year 2000. It STILL amazing to look at today. I’ve only had to service the watch twice in 23 years. I always said, I’d buy a new version one day…but the OG still looks just as good, and I don’t dive any more, so why upgrade?….well, I’ll tell ya why. That white dial version looks amazing! So, there is no doubt I’ll be buying another “white dial” Seamaster 300. The Helium escape valve is for sure outdated! I also think that the crown on these “dive” watches are too small. But, no watch is perfect…but Omega’s horological tech is second to none.
I like the bracelet but prefer the proportions of the original wave dial version. Did opt for the NTTD bc it was so unique but otherwise waiting for a 165.024 reissue before snagging another Seamaster
I have a Seaweed and I have more complaints with it than I do with any other watch I own. Still I adore it. Don’t know why…. it has a charm no other watch has.
Britt, stop apologising about your jaw surgery. It's nothing to apologise for and it's hardly noticeable any more! 😘 And didn't you already talk about James Bond by saying you would not? 😄 I love this watch, except for "the valve". It's just like a huge wart on an otherwise perfect face! 🙈
Baaah! It’s always a hard one! I feel like I’m being redundant for the regular viewers, but if I don’t preface it, there will be a lot of confused new people. 🤣🤣 I think I’m nearly at the point where I don’t need to say it anymore! My jaw movement is getting better every week! 💕✨
Bought mine this week, black dial on a bracelet, although the Mrs won't let me have it until January as it's for my 40th, had to buy it now because Omega boutique told me price is going up this month! Got a tidy discount too by getting them to price match another retailer so paid about £4,800, I'm well happy with that, just need to wait now lol.
I agree with the bracelet being blah however I like HE valve. If I can’t get the bracelet on the SMP or better then I’m going for the rubber band (I want the seaweed green 300m) I can ignore the bezel movement as long as I don’t get a watch with better bezel action lol.
I have the Seamaster NTTD with both the Milanese bracelet and the NATO. It is awesome. I like the helium escape valve even if unlike my father did, I shall not get involved in saturation diving… I like the scalopped bezel, I like the doomed crystal, the colour… it’s perfect although it could be 1mm slimmer…
Britt!! So for the first 8 minutes, I was chanting the 2254 is better, the 2254 is better, the 2254 is better. And then you made my day!!! One thing I will argue over and over, the skeleton hands are horrible. The sword hands need to make a come back, and never leave us again. Great video, and awesome cameo from Editing Britt. Long Live the Cult(s)!!
Bahahaha. ITS ALL ABOUT THE SWORD HANDS!!! And the 2254 HE escape valve is exactly how it should be! It’s like a tooth paste cap on the modern version! 😅 I was thinking about doing pre ceramic vs ceramic SMP video! ….. I think we all know which I prefer tho! 😅
@@AdhamHossam165 I feel like it's a bit counter-productive on something claiming to be a tool watch, though. I feel like if you're actually using it for diving you want maximized legibility.
🤣 I feel like I learned bright backgrounds at such an unfortunate time! I took a product photography course (mostly for shoe photography! Gagaga!) and they taught me to use bright backgrounds! Unfortunately it is so associated with Evan in the watch space! But man, his shots and use of space is AMAZING! 💕💕✨
Hi Britt, Your review 9n the new Seamaster is refreshing. I feel that you are right on but for one thing, the dial is to over the top. This Seamaster in my opinion could never be dressed up like my 2531.80, the Bond watch. Ast this moment I am wearing what I feel is the most beautiful Seamaster ever made plus it is so,comfortable. And that would be the SM 2255 which is the electric blue dial with the shiny ss bezel. It is being but with class. Anyway that's for what I feel is the best review on the new SM I have ever seen.
What surprised me the most was how small this watch is in person - I'm not surprised you use it because on my wrist, this watch just looks ridiculous. But I love the Omega 43.5s, and they are fantastic.
I am in love with the dial on the newer Seamaster. My second favorite watch of all time. My first place is over 200k, so that isn't going to happen. LOL I do wish it was a bit smaller, but it wears much better then I thought it would. I am going to own one, but I kind of thought I'd see what they come out with this year too.
Helium valve is part of its DNA so it gives it a distinct look, doesn't bother me at all. And people complain about the bracelet and I on the other hand just LOVE it, it is just sooo comfortable and gives it a different (90s) look and doesn't pull on your hair at all like I've experienced with the mesh bracelet that comes with the titanium bond seamaster
I like the watch a lot and I got one blue and one white…but, on strap. The no tapering bracelet is a big issue and I hope they will release a new model with a nicer bracelet.
I bought a 2254 for 950€. Sold it for 850. I hate this "game" so much sometimes. Like, when an asshole stole my beloved Speedmaster HBSia. If i ever find that thief: he'll lose a hand. 😊
