Honestly, historical cdrama are always better than modern ones, acting wise and storyline.

I honestly don’t know how she ever forgave him for this. Nor how he thought he deserved to be with her after doing this to her when he realized he misunderstood her. There was not enough groveling and self-humiliation for her to forgive him and be with him.

I can never forgive anyone like him or give him any chance after. He didn’t even give her a chance to explain, shows that he doesn’t love her, he believes others more then her .

I couldn't understand how she forgave him for all of the humiliations and insults she gazed because of him. That could never be me

The reason why I never watch Chinese dramas anymore is the toxicity. Not only does no one help her when she gets humiliated publicly, he drags her physically and still no one says or does anything. Women are almost always treated with disrespect (if not with physical then with psychological violence) and still the character just takes it, cries and begs no matter how badly they're treated.

The lead actor and actress had done an amazing job to create this difficult scene, it was well played. However, the writer has continued to allow verbally and emotional abuses to inflict on women. This is totally unacceptable. There is no respect for women and is a serious crime. I hope there is no such violence on women in any further TV drama, it is not ok and certainly not good imagine for our future generations

I had to stop watching modern C-dramas because the industry romanticizes violence against women, who then fall in love with their abuser with just a nod and "I did you wrong" honey! I have to believe a modern woman with any sense of self-worth, would kick that ass to the curb in what we American's call, "A New York Minute", but this leading character doesn't. The weaker the better in character seems to be the norm for most modern dramas. I like the Historical fantasies the best, depending on budget, they can be very engrossing. Usually the best stories, the best costumes, the best actors, and lots of fluff, romance and entertainment, what's not to like? Women are abused in those dramas in a historical context where woman were nothing but a commodity back then.
