I don't know how much more humiliation he can subject on Gao Jie. Yu Zhi is beyond cruel. No matter how he justifies it later, it is unforgiveable in my book. It is not enough that he publicly shamed her on their engagement and dragging her off stage like a rag doll, his subsequent treatment of her thereafter is heartbreaking. Their breakup could have been civil considering what they shared in the past. And now, he wants to investigate what happened. It's too late. He should have done that before.
