@@Ms.Andrist really hope they don't stop after one season. i started watching his true blood reaction only to find he quit after 10 episodes. i was really excited to binge watch them all too. he seemed to really enjoy watching true blood too, so the fact that he seems to really like dexter doesn't help with my concern that i won't even get to see his reaction to seasons 2 and 3, which in my opinion are the best 2 seasons to see reactions to.
i read Dexter's novels first before watching the show and I think Hall did an amazing job playing Dexter. A bit too good sometimes lol He was born to be Dexter. And also the dark witty humor are really quite well transfered from the book to the series. Im really looking forward to follow this journey with you guys AGAIN
I'm so glad you noticed how good Michael C Hall is in this show right away. It really is that powerful of a performance. He really does make us believe he's a dysfunctional but charming psychopath. Another big role he had was in Six Feet Under, an HBO show from before Dexter. Jennifer Carpenter, who plays his sister Deb, is also incredible in this. She plays Emily in "The Exorcism of Emily Rose", which a pretty good horror movie as well.
I love this show. It has tons of twists, moments that will blow your mind, its gross yet humorous. No other show like this one. Great writing and cinematography!
I haven't been able to watch your non Marvel reactions because I just don't watch those shows but I'm so pleased to be able to watch your reactions to this show I loved.
Now this is a helluva coincidence, I just started binging Dexter New Blood today, for the first time since it was released! So glad you are doing this show; Dexter is one of my big three from back in the day, with the other two being 24 and Lost.
Dude, season 1 Dexter is so damn good lol. Actually the first 4 seasons are considered some of the best television of that mid to late 2000s era. I happen to be one of those who agrees lol. Enjoy
Season 7 is great too, same level(maybe a bit lower) as the first 4, 5 and 6 are good aswell just a few issues and season 8 is definitely far from the other seasons
@@Cam_DePasquali lol season 6 is silly. Is season 7 the one with the gay dude? If so yea that one was a pretty solid season. I've only seen seasons 5-8 once. Watched seasons 1-4 multiple times
@tidepride86 I wouldn't say silly. It had strong points, and it has problems is ep 9 or 10 I think it is? Where(spoilers) Deb realizes she's in love with Dex and the weirs plot twist of Gellar not being real. I think there's a gay dude in 7? I already forgot, lmao, but it was just a strong season. As for season 8, I'm watching it rn and it is honestly just boring, not really 'bad'.
One of my favorite series of all time. Every season (with the possible exceptions of 6 & 8) are superlative. Great acting and writing. The many awards garnered by the show will confirm this.

I say to myself "That guy looks like he's gonna KILL someon------" and I realized it was the actor who played Dexter! 😅 Clearly he was having a bad moment in his day!
Great reaction, I love this show, I have seen it like 40 times all the way through, and still get chills when Dexter screams "Open Your Eyes and Look at What You Have Done"

I’m rewatching Walking Dead through you guys (in Season 9 now) and was thinking about rewatching Dexter when I saw this pop up. Perfect. BTW: For awhile, the driving app Waze had a Dexter voice you could have give you your directions that I wish they still had since A) dude’s voice is great, and B) it would say things like “Police reported ahead. Learn their ways. It will be useful.”
I'll take DEXTER over THE WALKING DEAD every time ! You're both going to love this series, I think. So many great characters ! So many very good actors over the seasons !
I legit believe that at least the first 4 seasons are some of the best tv you will see in your life. My 66 year old mom is still madly in love with Dexter. Yeah my mom is cool.
Started rewatching Dexter just a few weeks ago so the episodes will be nice & fresh for your reactions! I had the same reservations going into the show, if not stronger - i really didn't think a story about a serial killer was fit for entertainment - but it gripped me from the first episode. I really think you're going to enjoy it, and i'm very much looking forward to watching (listening to!) you navigate the twists & turns 😃
Now that you are watching the amazing show Dexter, you need to watch Six Feet Under after that. Younger Michael C Hall is in it and this show is the Mother of dark humour, was every year emmy nominated and has still the best, perfect Finale of all shows.
You can find out a lot about where your moral, ethical, legal, and other philosophical grey areas are, while watching this series. Glad to see it already has you exploring those ideas and questions. 👍
Great choice! Awesome show this one. Disturbing but awesome. And Julie Benz IS gorgeous, even made up naturally. I’ve had a crush on her since episode one of Buffy. I even just sighed lol.
There's a prequel in development (with Christian Slater playing Harry) that I'm kinda excited about, but also very skeptical about. Any Dexter without Michael C. Hall just feels like it's doomed to fail, because even when Dexter was at its worst, he was always just fantastic.
@@DukeJimbob I actually, overall, liked the sequel series but again, that's down to Michael C. Hall just being really damn good. Plus, you can't go wrong by adding Clancy Brown to your show.
So DEXTER is based on the novel Darkly Dreaming Dexter by Jeff Lindsay. There's more books (8 total in fact) but the show really only truly takes from the first, with maybe some aspects taken from the others. Season 1 is a near 1:1 adaptation of the first novel, but for better and for worse the rest of the show pretty much goes its own way. Be thankful for the fact they didnt decide to incorporate any of the third book into the show...
I think the third book is the reason the TV series decided to ignore the books. But the attempt to include a supernatural element didn't go over well with the book fans and it was never mentioned in the books again.
@@richardb6260 You're definitely right. I think season 2 came out shortly after Dexter in the Dark. I kinda wish the incorporated more of Dearly Devoted Dexter though.
All right, Dexter! Back when it was on, Showtime was not available to me. I've seen about 3 episodes scattered throughout it's run and I enjoyed them very much. I am so happy you two are doing this. I first started watching you two when you were doing Firefly and I've seen you react to a few movies and as then your reactions and comments are great. Now for episode 2.
