Jacmel and cuba used to be the biggest Caribbean destination . We used to have thousands of tourists in Jacmel and port au prince back then before they brought the democracy to us . After we had the democracy all the hotels factory went to DR instead. They brought share to all our black company and the broke them down . Like our sugar , milk , flour etc .

@@egom1993 you can’t compare DR to an African country , Haiti is paying the price for making French , Spain , England loosing so much money on slavery. Therefore they have to sabotage their independence . And if Haiti is free and growing like it’s was all the African countries will trying to take their independence and that’s will crash western economies . The support DR get from the west it’s not the same it’s Haiti get , The west broke down Haitian Army and armed the young kids while they are investing in DR army . They are making Haitian leave to go to DR and for work while their business they had in Haiti they close them .

That oversimplifies how the Dominican Republic became a tourist and manufacturing hub. Hotels aren’t relocated, tourists go to countries that are safe. In the same way, factories didn’t relocate to the DR, instead, new ones were established there.

This is a world heritage city. Haiti is the most historical place in the entire Caribbean, and many parts of the world. It has the richest history and culture in the Caribbean, and it's almost authentic African. It produces some of the greatest architecture and art works in the Caribbean. Some of the greatest African minds were brought to Haiti from West/Central Africa. The Europeans took the he best minds from Africa... It's important to note that Toussaint Louverture came from the royal family of Benin. I would love to visit Jacmel to see the architecture and the arts of the city. I have never been Haiti, but I was introduced to Haiti through its history. One day, by God's grace, I visit Haiti. That country has so many hidden treasures. May God Almighty remembers Haiti!❤️🌹🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🙏🕊️!

Note electricity was introduced by the colonial powers at the time. The people on the ground . . . the villages got electricity around Independence in 1962. Jacmel is beautiful with a rich history. Greetings African Tigress, love your channel, especially Haiti videos. As far as I know Black River , here in Jamaica, had electricity in 1893. Black River was also first place in Jamaica to have telephone and a car. Big up all Africans at home and abroad.

Thanks for showing us this lovely part of Haiti. I would like to point out however that the town of Black River in Jamaica was the first in the Caribbean to receive electricity. This was in 1893.

Jamaica was one of the first countries in the world to have an electric supply, which commenced in 1892, just 13 years after Edison invented the light bulb. Today, all electricity is supplied by the Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS), with electricity being generated using oil, gas, diesel, hydropower and wind farms.
