Our 87 is a manual and it's stock, but yeah, that's likely because it was a one owner car owned by a lady who was a teacher. It's not quite as clean as this one, but other than the transmission and fixed roof, it's pretty near identical to ours. Ours is probably about a 7.5 out of 10. Front bumper is dull and there is some fading on the outer seat bolsters.

Much of this book is an admonition to people who have failed a Holy God. Some of us can remember our parents telling us as children, right before they punished us, "This hurts me more than it hurts you." At the time, we cannot believe that is true. But when we become parents and we have to punish the wrong behavior of our children, we understand exactly what they meant. A parent’s desire is to love his child, not to punish. In this passage, we see the true nature of God. We see His heart’s desire. He longs to be compassionate and gracious to us. More than anything, He wants to shower us with His love. But just as a parent also has the responsibility to discipline, so does God. He is also a God of Justice, and therefore, He must "wait" to show compassion./prayer+ Father, I know that You are a God of Compassion and Grace. I realize that You long to shower me with blessings. But I also know that You must discipline me when I am wrong. I may not like it, but I understand and appreciate it. I would rather be disciplined by a loving God than punished by a just God. I've just inherited a very early production mark 3 NA supra from my grandfather (July of 1986). He had it for a few years but it eventually became a non-running project. I eventually singled out the starter motor as the issue and spent far too long removing it from the car. The brushes inside were so mangled that no contact to the plunger was being made. One 15 dollar repair kit off EBay later (and some new intake gaskets) and it starts and runs. He passed a few days before I was able to get it to crank again. I spent a lot of time with him in his last weeks while I worked on it. These cars are incredibly important to me. I know this video is a few years old at this point but thank you for bringing some positive attention to them. Aside from a few quirks, these cars are wonderful to work on and gorgeous to boot. Great to see an A70 supe. I had a facelift 7m-gte for 10 very happy years, rebuilt with 40 thou oversize wiseco crowns, Eagle rods, acl bearings, arp studs top n bottom, titan motorsports 2mm mhg, spec stage 3+ carbon metallic clutch, fidanza flywheel, full blitz nur spec exhaust, swapped the factory auto box for the r154 5 speed manual etc etc etc. Absolutely loved that car....... THAT IS AN AMAZING SUPRA! I mean, I wanted one so bad in 1992 but then, their cost didn't make sense when you could have a V8 Mustang Cobra or GT then, and pocket the difference. Still, that is a really sweet Toyota Supra. Thank you for sharing that and Facetiming with Jared!

That is a Beautiful MK3. Jared means 7M ‘BHG’-GTE. But with a new metal gasket it’s fine. Loved the torque compared to the 1JZ we swapped into my ‘87. However the music the 1JZ makes is just incomparable. Can confirm the Wastegate Shim gleefulness!!

@JoelKreider
@JoelKreider 3 года назад
@@WillFuI ...just make sure to know the difference between the various 1J’s. Stand-alone ECU is probly the way to go, as well. They’ve gotten pretty reasonable, and potentially makes tuning easier. R154 5-speed Trans is pretty hardy if it hasn’t been abused. And just go ahead and buy a Fluidampr®. Just get one. Then maybe the crank pulley won’t separate while you’re driving around one day.

The 7M was not Toyota's best effort TBH, but nor is it as terrible as some people make out. They sure learned a lot before designing the JZ series.
@JoelKreider
@JoelKreider 3 года назад
@@Beer_Dad1975 ...Definitely learned a lot. Although, I think the main downfall of the 7M was poor turbo preparation. The NA was fairly solid. We had one in our families ‘85-ish Cressida. Never remember it being a hassle. Best sound system tho... had a 9 band manual EQ.
@Beer_Dad1975
@Beer_Dad1975 3 года назад
@@JoelKreider They were a good engine by the standards of other inline sixes of the time - they just suffered in historic comparison to Toyota's own later effort, and so the narrative is they are "unreliable". I never owned one personally, probably a few years too young, and my Dad hated Japanese cars for some reason - in the 90's and early 00's I owned a 1JZ Chaser, and a 2JZ Soarer though - both fantastic cars. I'm old enough to remember the 80's craze for sliding equalizers though! :-D

Blessings Isiah 30:18 And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him./inspiration+ Not everything in the book of Isaiah is as encouraging as this passage. Guide me with the love that You have for me. Help me to do Your will in all things. Amen.

I had a 1987 dark blue on blue non-turbo example. I absolutely loved it! My ex four times removed ended up crashing it into a school playground. The fencing surrounding the playground was untouched. She somehow bounded over the 6 foot tall fence and landed about 10 feet shy of a play structure. Luckily, the accident happened in late PM, so no children(or anyone, for that matter) were present. True story!

What wasn't mentioned in the video is that this Supra is equipped with TEMS (Toyota Electronic Modulated Suspension). It allows the driver to select between a softer ride for everyday driving or a stiffer more sporty ride when you're feeling peppy. Some people don't like it and think it's an unnecessary feature that can be rather costly to replace but I enjoyed the feature on my '86 1/2 Supra, my '88 didn't have it and it was missed.

TEMS was good and really worked, Went to high when you either punched the gas or hit the brakes hard. I actually replaced those shocks back it the day when i was young. Not a fun job...and cost a lot for the parts. Made a HUGE difference though..

Nice to see such a clean MK3 - I have had a 1990 UK car on the drive for a year - needs some TLC after 32 salty winters. It is an 7M-GE NA 5-speed hardtop, no engine mods. Plan to bring it back from the brink, and this video is a great reference on how it should be. I also previously owned an auto 1G-GTE Twin Turbo, targa top - a bit too much lag and not enough torque on the 2 litre for the wieght of the car, but great for a top down cruise.
