Guard stays Focused and alert even when his horse is acting up while all the time getting his Beautiful big steed under control with one hand and dealing with crazy tourist. Gets all my Respect. From USA
I've seen lots of movies where native american indians do a rain 🌧 dance..... But I've never seen a military horse do a rain 🌧 dance before before..... 👏👏👏 😂😂
I got to see an Indian dance where the girl found her mother after 25years looking for her mother and they did a mother -daughter dance and then they hugged each other that made me cry great time in my life
I do not know about horses but as soon as he heard that bell he immediately walked forward🤔 which makes me think he wanted fuss and warmth of his stable😊
I wouldn't blame the horse. It looked to me to be a rain/sleet mixture, very miserable. I'd be ready to go in for some dry, warm bedding and a bag of oats, too.
Not on this video. The only people “near” the horse when he was playing up were pedestrians passing by. The rain deterred most of the photographers. I wonder what set him off. Maybe he didn’t like getting wet?
Blame the tourist why don't you something else ain't right and its been going on for several weeks. The horses are agitated by the damn bits. I don't know if its to high or what they all are distressed by something in the mouth. Any idiot ought to be able to see that .
@@andiec3980 he was certainly upset or annoyed about something - but what? No crowds, no people touching him, a very few posed for a photo at a reasonable distance away (only one got close, with the guard’s permission), no protest marchers, no loud traffic, no bagpipes, no drums. Just the rain?
Yeah I think it’s the rain. Most horses don’t care about it but some REALLY hate it falling on their head and ears……and he’s probably getting drips off the box edge too that aren’t helping. Rearing is resisting, so it’s noticeable that he does it when his rider asks him to move forward in the box. He’s also clearly a favourite with the troopers going on the affectionate way the stableman patted him.
The Horse might watch too much Lord of the Rings and Zoro movies that he decides to reproduce the same posing stand 3:57 Two solidiers from unknow regiment just pass by. It can’t wait to go back into the stable 7:08
Whoa what a performance from the horse. Nice to see that particular soldier without his helmet and long cloak and on stable duty ...the eyes have it 😉The boxman was quick to salute the passing Officers. Thanks Abdullah .... kiwi
Its amazing how the guard didn't move a muscle when the horse reared its front legs up. He continued to sit straight in the saddle. THAT IS AMAZING! That guard has talent. 👍👍👍
These videos always seem to show a horse in that particular guard box, not the one on the other side of the gate. Or is just a coincidence. So, I’m wondering if there’s something about the box itself.
Looked like he was not taking to the bit on that day. Horse can get very disagreeable when the bit is irritating them. Only time my daughter’s horse took a bite of my arm was due to discomfort from the bit.
Hes just impatient i would think. He knows his shift is over and its time to go back inside. When their bit is the issue it looks a little different, hes just eager to knock off work.
No…..he was throwing his head and chewing because he was annoyed, and impatient, not due to his bit. He wasn’t happy in the box, mainly I think due to rain on his head and ears(some horses REALLY hate rain in their face, and most will naturally turn tail to rain to avoid getting it in the face) He also knew it was almost changeover time and wanted to get into the stable so he was chewing furiously in impatience, not because of his bit. Why do people obsess about the bloody bit???
I had a horse of this type and could through his front legs like this when fed up or annoyed. God help if you got in the way. Never really aimed at anything just if he got annoyed or frustrated. Got help anyone if they were in the way the power would result in ver bad injury
Lovely Kensington is giving Q10 a bit of competition. He seems to be big really big. The quard riding him is one of the lady guards and she looks tiny up on that massive beast. This guard may be small but she knew how to remind Kensington that she's the boss. Well done you. From the Outer Banks of N.C USA. ❤😂
When you have dinner could could you give your horses a apple from me thank you I really love your horses and I would like to salute all your kings and thank them for everything they do and the police to God bless everybody that work there.😊
Someone needs to look into why the majority of these soldier horses have such a hard time with their bit. There is something in there that is hurting them. Could it be a curb chain or something like that? This is a consistent problem and it needs to be addressed! Surely I'm not the only one that is noticing a problem here. 😢
I've seen it for weeks and not really a horse person but have worked with horses farming and what not. Its the bit. Something is not right the other horse come in the same way mouthing around its bit. Something is to tight. Surely someone in that country is smart enough to tell why the horses are distressed .
@@rc391995 And it's not just 1 of them it's all of them all the time!! It's absolute torture for the horses and excruciating to witness!! It's a shame!
So why bother ? Its called tourism and it brings bucks why else do you think they are there. You know absolutely nothing about horses or why they are there. I understand you don't like foreigners but your country loves the money. Ive never noticed you people giving any of it back. People are sick of you bunch of royal snobs . get over it.
Ahhh Nooo! If that were the case they would be all over the place. They choose not to because they have a leader to listen to which gives them the confidence to know they dont need to they are safe.
Big beautiful horse doesn't want to stand in the rain don't like the rain myself don't blame him at all god l miss my boy he passed away this past weekend from Pennsylvania usa
I’m curious, where do these horses get exercised? I know they are perfectly taken care of. This horse just struck me as a bit impatient, maybe felt the need of a little stretch out? On the other hand he seemed very happy to go inside 😊🐎
@@paulinemegson8519 I wasn't sure what they meant either, but I zoomed in and there does seem to be something around the rear fetlocks of this horse - have never seen that before - strange ...
Sometimes, ankle bands are used to help a horse learn to stop pawing the ground and to stand still. I’ve never seen one like these, though. Usually, they are a bit wider.
It just shows you how fed up these horses are there stress levels must be going through the roof. Jesus he must be in pain the way he is chewing that bit. All this for pompous money
I truly believe some horses have problems with the baramertic pressure change from the rainy weather like some humans are and it might cause some sort of irritation. Just my opinion, take it or leave it.
That poor horse is in pain....trying to alleviate the pressure from the bit in his mouth....look up what equipment is being used and how it effects them
Oh poo Shaw they have stood in the rain for thousands of years that's ridiculous . if they can't fix the problem they need to quit putting them animals through the misery if they don't know how to correct it.
These poor horses all day standing in one spot with so many people poking at them 😢 in a spot they cannot move is cruel. These animals need a good run and to be a horse 🐎 free and fun. Not just work they are getting high strung and mean
They do not stand in one spot all day the duty in the box is for 1 hour then changed over . Most of them do move around changing positions , some are very relaxed and chilling , horses stand the majority of the time and can sleep on their feet ! They are exercised every day along Rotten Row in Hyde Park having a good gallop . Regular turn out to grass in Melton Mowbray , and holidays on the beach .
I think he’s bored, rain, cold, having to stand in somebody else’s dung - he wants to go back into his comfy stall and sample some hay. I don’t blame him.
He’s fine. It was only a few minutes till changeover. He has a job to do and it’s not ok to let a little antsy behaviour get him out of doing his job. Horses are too big to indulge like that….they have to learn that misbehaviour isn’t rewarded.
This horse is in pain. The bitt is hurting him. That's why he is trying to rear, shaking his head and clacking his teeth together. They can't see it because they don't know how to read a horse. Poor horsey.
It's not natural for a horse to stand in one place for so long, he was fed up with the situation, it's mental cruelty to make him stand there and he was obviously distressed!
One hour on duty then changed over , horses stand for hours in a field and can sleep on their feet . Not distressed , just didn't appreciate the rain .
@@kathellison8084 It's still an hour and horses don't stand still for more than a few minutes if that, he was distressed as seen by him playing with the bit in his mouth and pawing the ground!
@@nc687- Go to a field of horses , once they've got over the initial run around you'll see them standing around for ages relaxed and chilling . Exactly Playing with the bit ! Not hurting him or causing him distress , he knows his shift is nearly over plus the rain , Kensington is an experienced veteran and knows the job !
@@kathellison8084 In all my 54 years of working with horses and especially racehorses, I do know what I am talking about or I would not have commented at all, I have watched other videos of the Guards and found no problem with the horses.
And exactly how many horses have you tacked up? Or fitted with a bit? Cos I have to say it’s pretty “obvious” that it’s none and you’re talking absolute tosh.
He's nervous or something is bothering him. Chomping at the bit isn't a good sign. He seemed to calm when he got a little attention, maybe thinking they were going to solve his issue. I think something isn't right with his tack, maybe?? Something pinched or not on right??
@@rc391995 royals??? wtf you talking about? I'm just stating what I observe, nothing more. If you don't like it, move on. I don't expect everyone to agree but I do expect a basic level of human decency.
I've always thought it's incredibly cruel for horses to be made to stand in the one spot for hours on end. If we humans had to do it, we'd have swollen feet and wouldn't be upright for very long. A horse with all that weight it's carrying together with the sheer boredom of this stupid practice, would surely be in some kind of pain!! Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that is a cruel and unusual punishment.
They don't stand for " hours on end " the duty in the box is for 1 hour then changed over , an hours break then back but not always .. Not every day either , the two regiments alternate every couple of days . The horses are bred from Irish draught with some thoroughbred blood , they are big strong well muscled horses perfectly capable of carrying the weight of Trooper and saddle . The Household Cavalry have their own vets , farriers master saddlers and receive better care than you or I . They are regularly turned out to grass in Melton Mowbray and holiday on the beach . None exhibit any kind of pain , so yes you are wrong . They are working horses doing the ceremonial role they are trained for .
The horses and guards shouldn’t have to put up with stupid people touching a horse .These soldiers should be protected against those after a photo who don’t even say Thank you. It’s not Disney land! makes me ,sad ,angry to watch the disrespect shown to these brave people by silly teenage boys who think it’s cool to act idiotic. Teachers don’t control them and they’re just showing lack of brain cells to the world. Please PROTECT THEM.
Just why do you think those horses are there ? And why the steal pot helmets and all the dress ? I understand they are guarding a post. And you probably don't like tourist . But your country spent a lot of time invading countries they wasn't wanted in. Tourist bring bucks big bucks . And that's one big reason they are still there. I understand respect you should learn a little of it yourself.
