Short version of their history: Scott, Kirstin, and Mitch grew up together in musical theater and choirs. They met each other, two by two, between the ages of 8 and 14 and dated each other, two by two, between the ages of 14 and 18. After graduating, Scott and Kirstin went off to two different universities. Mitch stayed to finish his last year of high school. Scott got into a cappella in college. He wanted to go on the Sing Off, which is like American Idol but only for a cappella. He recruited Mitch and Kirstin. Ben Bram, a guy Scott met at college, recruited Avi. They found Kevin on RU-vid. Timing was a bit of an issue. Mitch stayed to finish high school but missed his high school graduation ceremony to go to the Sing Off audition. Kevin stayed to finish his senior exams at Yale. Kevin didn't meet the rest of them until the day before the audition for the Sing Off. They won the Sing Off which gave them a recording contract and $200,000 and they all moved to Los Angeles. Sony records dropped them 2 weeks later. They decided to do it themselves and kept posting RU-vid videos until people paid attention and they got another recording contract. Avi left for personal records and Matt replaced him as the bass. That has been the only change in the lineup. Mitch and Kirstin can look different from video to video but they are always there. Three Grammy awards, multi-platinum albums, 5 billion views of RU-vid, live concerts in at least two dozen different countries and here we are.

Also worth noting they are the very first a capella group to win a Grammy. The first they won was recorded in a closet and filmed in a kitchen with a budget of about $400 The second was for an all instrumental piece
The tickets for their Christmas Tour are on sale now. They came together for the Sing-Off Season 3 in 2011 (?). If you check out their first performance they tell their history. They actually came together 2 days before the audition. It’s fun watching them move from a bunch of incredibly talent people to a tight and polished group.

I went to school with Michael the last partial semester he attended public school. He's a legend but it breaks my heart that he didn't truly have a childhood.
They have also done medleys of other big artists like Beyoncé, Rihanna, *NSYNC, etc. I think you would jump out of your chair reacting to their cover of Imaginr by John Lennon. Love your reactions!!

Speaking of Kelly Clarkson so was the first American idol and she has some major vocals. You need to check her out too she has a country song with Jason Aldean don't you want to stay. Her range is crazy
I hadn’t heard the original and it didn’t matter one bit!!! It is exceptional! However, I did listen to the original after, and realized just how kick a$$ it was that Mitch killed it the way he did!

I love the arrangement but I prefer MJ’s vocals on the lead. He was so aggressively in the groove while being emotive. I love the bass and always wondered what the Jacksons would have sounded like with a true bass

Carole from Ottawa Canada again...MJ was great but not the GOAT> Many dance moves, especially when he danced on the toes of his shoes.........all came from Elvis. .. Do not want to burst your bubble.. but this is the truth. If you ever watch Elvis in the mid to late 50's You will see my dear friend, that Elvis started those moves that MJ emulated....especially if you watch "Jailhouse Rock" Just sayin'....ELVIS is the GOAT and always will be. Plus he had the greatest voice of all time. He could reach over 5 octaves with his grand voice. MJ was more Falsetto...Just sayin'...
