Actually, Angela manages both Arch Enemy and Amaranthe. See the video Do Or Die. Angela sings with Elize Ryd on it. BTW, there is a Kamelot video out called Sacrimony with both Alissa and Elize singing with Tommy.

Most growlers are very fit. They use well their diafragm and lungs, press them with abdominal muscles and the velocity of air coming out vibrate the larinx, vocal chords and even neck bones to produce the growling. but they're not moving the vocal chords per se. Angela Whit- Gluz uses the same air velocity exhale but she's also able to distort the vocal chords properly. The combination allows her to distort higher notes too. She has great clean vocals, she sang in Amaranth and Agonist and has a clean vocal song in Arch Enemy too. Angela Gossow is married to a member of the band, she's a manager now so she has more time for family. She chose Alissa for he quality as vocalist, performer and growler. Angela still does some special features in some bands.

My first experience seeing and even hearing Alissa live was in 2010 with her former band The Agonist. They opened for Epica and I’d never heard of her before then. Blew my mind.

the reason of better sound quality in Wacken festival recordings is simple, due to great atmosphere and charismatic fans , meny bands decided to record official live videos/concerts , that force them to use studio grade multichannel recording and sound mixing equipment , and on top of that they benefit from decent post production sound mixing. effect is usually epic

Their first singer (Johan Liiva) is actually still involved with the band. They started touring a few years ago with the lineup of the band from the late 90s. This incarnation of the band call themself Black Earth (the name of Arch Enemy's first album). The difference between Black Earth and Arch Enemy's lineup is Johan Liiva instead of Alissa on vocals, and Christopher Amott instead of Jeff Loomis as the second guitarist. Yess saw them live once ... and yes they are good ... Although i was on that concert by accident as i brought my daughter to their concert with i thought her friend but her friend became sick that day ... so i said let me join you .... and yes we made a father daughter evening of it ... yup i was blown away by this band lol

I got to see them and amon amarth in concert last year, it was epic.

I highly recommend Angela Gossow's version of 'Nemesis' Live in Japan 2008, and 'Bloodstained Cross' official. She is the Goddess of Khaos! So amazing!!

why you need a neck protection? is something wrong in your bones??? I really don't understand it, cause I headbang 1-2 hours per day, sometimes 3-4 without any issues, well in the beginning I couldn't do moire than two songs, now whole albums growling and headbanging the whole time isn't a problem. great video and stay (death) Metal!

These guys are insanely talented and sadly not a popular as they could be. I can recommend alot of songs form them but the best to hear Alissa's range would be Ideomotor, which also shows the bands skills (8 minute version). However there isn't a official video for that, so you might be better with Panophobia. Now since she left the band they have a new line up and it's sick as well. The new songs to recommend from The Agonist are In Vertigo and Blood as my Guide. They got a greek chick name is Vicky Psarakis and she will sing greek in the last one. It sounds great. Also a fact most people miss The Agonist existed 5 years before Jinjer even happend to be.

Another for Alissa: The 2016 performance of Nemesis at Wacken is a classic, but her growls keep getting deeper so I'd recommend going to the 2018 full set video and using the link to Nemesis there. For Angela, check out We Will Rise MFVF 2010 for crystal clear sound as good as Wacken and a great performance that sounds even better than the famouse 2008 Tokyo performance.

Her old band (The Agonist) has some pretty crazy songs too. In Vertigo by them is even crazier on the vocals than either Jinjer or Arch Enemy. I love all 3, but one has to have the most intensely deep voice. (In Vertigo is with the new vocalist)
