Hall & Oates along with Heart ruled the 80's well late 70's and early 80s. So many good bands in the 70s and 80s and was great to see many in concert back then.

"I Can't Go For That (No Can Do)," "Private Eyes," "Sara Smile," "She's Gone," "Rich Girl," "Out of Touch," "Method of Modern Love," "Maneater," "One on One," "Family Man," "Some Things Are Better Left Unsaid," "You Make My Dreams," "Kiss on My List," "So Close," "Say It Isn't So," "Adult Education," "Did it in a Minute," "Possesion Obsession." I probably forgot a few. And yeah, I know some of these have already been done...I'm just trying t point out how massively HUGE these guys were.

Hall is 75 and Oates is 73. They are superstars and have written and performed a ton of hit songs. You need to catch Live From Daryl's House where they do live music with special guest singing Hall and Oates songs and the guest's songs. You need to learn about these guys. Read up on them.

They are the highest selling duo in history. They had around two dozen hits. Love them. I like their moody stuff like I Can’t Go for That (No Can Do), Maneater, Say It Isn’t So, One on One (great falsetto by Daryl Hall), Out of Touch, Private Eyes. Great act.

So far you've done "Rich Girl" and "She's Gone". If you want up-tempo for your next H&O outing, you can do "Maneater", "Private Eyes", or "Out of Touch". If Amber wants something slower, you can do "Sara Smile" or "One On One". As for your question, this song has been used in TV ads by both Toyota and KFC. In 2020, it's been used in commercials for Google Maps, American Family Insurance, and Michelob Ultra. It's also been used in a ton of movies, including Step Brothers, Despicable Me 2, and UglyDolls.

Probably many others have already mentioned this, but Daryl Hall had an online series for awhile (starting in 2007) called Live from Daryl's House, and there are a TON of _amazing_ performances chopped up into single song videos that you can find here on YT. Basically, he has a special guest musician (or band) and they do a "live" performance of one of their songs. The guests have ranged from Smokey Robinson to Cee Lo, and everything in-between. Jamel aka Jamal has reacted to a bunch of those, and you two would no doubt find them equally entertaining.

@@jp3813 The Beatles had 6 or 11 consecutive #1's depending who's top charts you go by. H & O had consecutive hit albums, but only 6 #1's. Don't get me wrong I'm not dissing H & O. They are one of my favorites since way back in the day. And as much as I love them I know they are not on the same level with hits as The Beatles. But they are the most successful "duo" surpassing I do believe The Everly and Righteous Brothers. If anyone wants to know for sure just do a search....its the internet.

This song happened to be a part of the #3 uses of music in the movies of all time (as voted by the readers of Rolling Stone magazine. In the film "500 Days of Summer", wherein Joseph Gordon Levitt's character is in love, and dances to this tune while walking to work. As he gets closer and closer to work, more people join in with the dance until finally its an entire dance number.

This was the 2nd to last song my hubby & I danced to at our wedding in 95. I believe it is the most streamed/downloaded song from their catalog. I have seen them several times over the years, most recently in 2021 & they still sounded great. If you have not already, look up their concerts; the concert they did for the Statue of Liberty is a good one.

Amber, Daryl Hall does more than command that moment of the screen to himself. I saw them live in the 90's. For the entire show, Hall was jumping around and all fired up. I was a bit shocked, but I heard people around me, humorously commenting about it. I think his mood was a bit enhanced, but he and Oates and the band were on point for the two hours they performed.

H&O's best in my humble opinion were She's Gone, Rich Girl, Sara Smile and Out of Touch. Daryl Hall also has a great solo song in Dreamtime and John Oates sang on the great 1986 hit by Parachute Club - Love Is Fire.

Since 2007, Daryl has invited artists to perform with him at his house. It’s called “Live from Daryl’s House.” Check it out. He still rocks. It all started for them back in 1972 (I think) with a neat little song called “Fall in Philadelphia.”

Favorite thing about the 80s was the clubs and the dancing. New Wave, Pop, Soul/R&B and even some Punk was all about the dancing and moving your body. I see even you guys can't sit still listening to the 80s!!

"Kiss On My List" and "Maneater" are AWESOME! Both were #1 hits. :) Oh, same with "I Can't Go For That (No Can Do)." That's the song that knocked the #1 song of the 80's out of #1. :)

This song has been in several commercials KFC, McDonald's , Toyota Cammry, Google Find Your Scene and in several movies. There are several songs I think you two may enjoy. "Maneater, Family Man, Private Eyes, I can't go for that, Kiss on my list" That is just a few of their great songs. As always great reaction. Stay safe

Hall n Oates started out more R&B in the 70’s (the era for them that I love) then got pop influenced in the 80’s. But watching At Daryl’s Place it’s nice to see he’s still about the R&B soft rock that is so so good!!!

Best selling duo of ALL TIME‼️ I saw them live twice in the 80's ❤ I was squished next to the stage.... Huntsville and Nashville ...... They are THE BEST !!!
