Even though the Raiders had several changes in their personnel, they should still be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as they had so many great songs!🎸
I agree. They were incredibly unique, and they were "The" band who attracted most teenagers back in the day. I call them "The IT Band". They were such a part of my "growing up" years and bittersweet memories.. I also compare them to the unique talent of Burt Bacharach. Two extreme talents, not alike in any way and yet, nobody else could be compared to their talents.
Paul Revere and the Raiders featuring Mark Lindsay should’ve been in the Hall of Fame 30 years ago great songs just like me hungry all the great ones I still watch your videos from the 60s with the raider uniforms Rest in peace to the members we’ve lost your music lives on Mark you look great for your age I’m right behind you Milwaukee loves you Paul Revere and the Raiders fan forever
Mark's singing voice is embedded in my teenage years. His songs are heartfelt. He has a world class singing voice. This man is not an ordinary singer. He's one of the best.
What a profound and true statement. I remember Mark Lindsey as a 13-14 year old kid and I just turned 70 last month. That guy has to be getting on up there, and looks incredibly good for his age.
This is what I always told my son. He is in his early 40s now and can appreciate what I was talking about. I introduced him to Sam Cooke at a time in his life when he was starting to listen to other genres than punk and heavy metal.😊😊😊
Paul Revere and the Raiders with Mark Lindsay... part of the soundtrack of my adolescence! The memories of "Where the Action Is" are still fresh in my 68-year old mind. Thank you
I was a little kid when "Just Like Me" was released. When it came on the radio, I became transfixed. To this day, it makes me feel a certain way. Mark Lindsay is a tremendous writer, singer, and musician.
Me too 1967 I was 9 years old my mom had a radio in the kitchen coming and going outside I can remember hearing them also remember a song called Downtown by petula Clark
sorry to be so off topic but does anybody know a way to get back into an instagram account..? I was dumb lost my password. I would love any tips you can offer me.
@Alec Roberto i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and Im trying it out now. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
MARK LINDSAY AND PAUL REVERE WITH HIS RAIDERS ...ONE OF MY FAVOURITE GROUPS OF THE SIXTIES AND EARLY SEVENTIES ! I AM GLAD HE IS STILL ACTIVE......SO SAD THAT PAUL HAS PASSED AWAY ALREADY ...RIP PAUL...
@@roypruysvdhoeven1855 Only idiots, losers, and poorly educated use all caps. It is the mark of a poorly adjusted person. Not only is it extremely rude but also very hard to read. So do not be stupid.
I used to run home to see him on "Where the Action Is." I also ran from the school bus to see "Dark Shadows." I have enjoyed Mark Lindsay and his music since around 1965. Fortunately, I have a few photos from some of the teen magazines back then as well as albums. I wish their tour would eventually come to Charleston, SC.
Mark Lindsay was and still is my favorite musician. What a rare talent. I met him once back in the 1970s and it was a pleasure to meet him and talk to him briefly. A true gentleman. Mark thank you for the music that touched my soul and you have many great years ahead of you to perform for your fans! Get out to Tucson, AZ, and will be there to enjoy a show!
Mark Lindsay was one lucky and talented guy . I believe whatever is bestowed on Mark, he rightly deserves. He will tell you he was one lucky guy in his youth. Long may you live , Mr Lindsay.
Fantastic voice and human being. Love his solo work as well as his music with the Raiders. He doesn't get enough credit. He influenced so many like Bruce Springsteen with his preacher/sermon on stage persona, Steve Tyler with his mamamamamamima scream, future rock/pop sax players. And always so handsome! No doubt Paul Revere & the Raiders should be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
He looks OK, given his age here!...But how does a guy retain that great head of hair?...most guys around his age-like me-are missing most of their hair...well...maybe he is wearing a wig?.
I had a humongrous crush on you Mark. My sister still reminds me of how Gaga I was over him. It's good to see you still singing and giving your fans happiness. 🌹🌹🌹🌹
I was a radio broadcaster for years. Every time Mark Lindsay tune came on or Paul Revere and the Raiders I would just crank it in the studio! I still love to do that. It was so good to see that Mark is well and working on projects. You’re the best
Back in the 1967. I watched where the action is every single day to see Mark when my brother was born. My Parents didn’t have a name. I suggested Mark and that was his name after you Mark love you guys and Keith. I met you all in Tampa Florida I n 1971 I was so happy
Let me be the first to comment and congratulate Mark. We are only a few years apart and I was one of those kids that listened to and bought Raiders records, though I lived on the east coast at the time. This is a top nick interview and Mark pulled it off flawlessly. My music tastes are diverse and were equally in the mid 60s when I first heard Mark Lindsey He is authentic. The real deal. And after this interview, I found we think alike. Think positive. Stay young in mind. Well done Mark. And thanks OMHOF.
I agree. Staying in shape and limber is key to life extension. It keeps the mind, body and spirit youthful, whatever the chronological age might be. If we take care of ourselves it benefits everyone around us and their quality of life. I love your attitude towards getting old.
It seems like yesterday I would rush home from school to watch Where the Action is! I had all of Paul Revere ‘ the Raiders albums! I went and saw them live in Birmingham Alabama years ago. Always been a fan! You turn around and life has really been a blast! Great music like this from the past just doesn’t exist anymore!
Congrats to Mark on this honor! He is very deserving of it! I'm just as big a fan as always, lo these many moons now. I would love to hear the new project, especially because I have a hard time believing he could top Collage! That LP was brilliant! Again, Mark, congrats! Keep rockin'!
Mark I've been a fan of yours since I saw you and the raiders on action and have almost every Album altho I never met you in person I've always thought you were the best. God Bless Always Dona Jackson
I saw him and the Raiders way back in the early seventies at Knotts Berry farm theater 🎭 I was just a kid I recall those funky lookin costumes they wore it was pretty cool 😎 Awesome 👏 show they sang all their big hits. Amazing how this guy keeps in the nitch of showbusiness keeps active and still lookin for new future projects retirement doesn’t even cross his mind. Still got a lot to give to his fans old and new
Just as fabulous sounding as 1967+. The music is coupled, literally, with a long successful marriage. That's a rarity and no Hall of Fame for marriage. 💚🎶💚
Congratulations 🎊🎉🎈 Mark You have an excellent voice and I enjoyed listening to you in Action When I came home from school and you performed in Seaside at the club my parents would drive by and I said can’t we go in Daddy sure we can but you’d be all alone in the car so I don’t think we’ll go in so we’re going to the turnaround and then DQ ! Thought I’d share with you and guess you met my cousin Chief West some would try to make it sound like big deal but we loved him he was so quiet but he would spot a guy nobody else did and he arrested him quickly and over to the Astoria jail to be picked up he was the number one most wanted and had to grab him and he knew his job!! I was always proud of him and he smoked too many cigarettes and got cancer and I miss him Very Much! I know you miss your band mates too!! You guys made my child hood fun instead of these people kids that aren’t children anymore I enjoyed my childhood these kids don’t have one pity again I Congratulate you and Thank You 🙏 for my fun childhood!!
Woohoo!!! So glad to see an hear Mark is still rock'n! My girlfriend's an I use to follow Paul Revere a's n the Raiders all over Southern Calif in the late 60's. Dick Clark's "Where the Action is" taped their shows all over! Still treasure all the pic's! Loved meeting all the band members + other bands that traveled with ther show...an Dick Clark too!!!
-I used to watch the Raiders on Where the Action Is and Action '68 as well as on my record player. I was even a Raider Rooter (I found my certificate the other day) back in the day. I thought it was long gone and glad it wasn't. I'm so glad to see you're still active and touring. Maybe you'll be in Eugene OR some day.
If this was the rotating stage show I was there too. Going off memory it was Wailers, Ian Whitcomb, Rockin' Ramrods, Raiders and Stones. May have been a female Motown type group backed by the Ramrods too.
@@madmanman1 It was a rotating stage but there were only the two bands, at least that evening. Parents had half the floor seating free and the Stones blew the power and got by with acoustic piano and harp for 15-20 minutes until they got it back! That show? :)
@@brucesimian3743 Thanks for the reply. Did a little e-sleuthing and found a recap of all the Rolling Stones shows in Seattle on the Seattle Times website. They have the show as Dec. 2, 1965 with opening acts Wailers, Raiders, Ian Whitcomb, Patti LaBelle and the Bluebells, and the Vibrations. They mentioned the power outage and revolving stage. I'd link it but I'm an idiot with a Chromebook.
Really happy for Mark! Saw his concert in Kansas City with Micky Dolenz in 2016, I think it was? Great show, his singing voice hasn’t changed, still strong and perfect! Still doing the high kicks! Well worth the trip for me. Keep on rocking
Shakeys Pizza, 1967, Buirbank, Ca. “Where the action is” shooting I was there in the pizza place, saw Mark 6 feet away, my favorite band Paul Revere and the Raiders. He was soo cool.
First, you are looking great.!! & **Thank you Mark Lindsay with & without Paul Revere & The Raiders, for the music & entertainment** My childhood memories definitely include your music from the 1960s into the 70s. and Keep rocking!! .... Best & stay safe... Randy A Carlisle (FB).. RAC Photography
I have been a FAN for over 55 years, mid '60's. I live in Canada🇨🇦, and that didn't STOP ME from joining the Paul Revere and The Raiders FAN CLUB. I received an Autographed Colour Photo, as well as one of their REVERE'S RAIDERS HAT, 3 point. Was able to see " most of the original members, with Paul, but NO MARK. Still enjoy listening and watching on RU-vid VIDEOS... KICKS, GOOD THING. Good luck Mark getting in the R&RHOF.😎🎙🎵🎶🇨🇦🇺🇸
Paul Mark and the Raiders deserve to be in the rock n roll hof in cleveland. These bias controllers need to be moved( removed). I could rant about other hofs but wont here. Happy Mark is in Oregon r+r hof!
❤ Hello .Mark ❤ Debbie how are you did you write a Big about your music or your Talent. Just won't to say Thank you for all the years of you Talent music and what not you have given your fans .your fans still Love you after all theses years . Peace and Love .
Hey Mark, what is your secret? 77 years old and you look 37, working on the best album you've ever done in your life..where is the fountain of youth? You must share this with others. You're gonna top Collage? Video Dreams? Summer of Love? Are you going to be #1 in Billboard in 2020?
I had a band in 9th grade that had a rather eclectic set list. "Lady Jane, by the Stones, "Love Is Blue" by Paul Mauriat, and "Just Like Me" by Paul Revere & The Raiders were examples of our variety. Thanks to Mr. Lindsay & company for this great tune, we had a ball playing it.
Mark Lindsay, "60s, one of the richest periods in musical history", so true. As a producer, Mr. Lindsay signed Jerry Rafferty. For those who forgot, remember, Baker Street? To increase its air play, Mr. Lindsay edited the song and brought it down from 6 mins to a radio playing 3 to 4 minute format.
Man I just loved the song I Dian reservation. A song on radio I never would turn channel on an surely turn volume up. Never knew back then that Lindsey was singer I assumed Paul Revere was an surely didn't know cool song Arizona was mark singing when he was with the raiders an right after that Indian reservation. This guy can sing.
This guy wrote some outstanding music that has survived the time test very well. I really think if they hadn't had the revolutionary war costumes they would and should be in the rock and roll academy proper in Cleveland. Reservation is awesome. He lived in the tate Polanski house at one time. Jack lalane was around for a long long time. Used to watch his work outs on TV as a kid.
Life Out Loud is a masterpiece so, he is a GREAT singer. I was wondering if he is going to do Mr Sun Mr Moon in the Happy Together Tour. The lady interviewing him needs to let him finish answering before asking something else. Otherwise is was a okay interview.
Excellent interview. One of my favorite singers. Love his most recent cd with Susan Cowsill. It’s awesome. Really would love to have a viynl copy of it. But I don’t think they released any on vinyl
Mark doesn’t look good in the thumbnail. What was he thinking. Reminds me of Burt Reynolds, Kenny Rogers, Mickey Rourke, et al. BTW, the first chord heard at the beginning of this video is from iMovie.
Does anyone else remember Mark's appearance on TV's The Dating Game? He was one of 3 male contestants that also included The Buckinghams lead singer Dennis Tufano. The young lady chose Mark (sight unseen) to be her date, but when Tufano walked out from behind the barrier she went ga ga over him. The whole time that host Jim Lange was explaining the particulars of their date she was looking longingly off-stage at Tufano while Mark was holding her hand. My wife and I were surprised they even aired the episode, since she so obviously regretted her choice.
Happy Together Tour has stopped in Salem as well as Lincoln City. No stops in the NW this tour. Hope they return soon. Vogues are new artists on this tour.
I wish they would come back. I saw Paul Revere and his Raiders in 1979 here in Spokane then, at the Kennewick fairgrounds, saw Mark in Richland Wa st Howard Amon Park one summer, in 1991, I believe. That was a blast. They need to do another tour and come to Spokane Wa.
Mark is the best singer of all times I've been a fan of his for many years my one guestion to him would be how and where is tje fountion off youth May you and your sweet wife have nothing but good things the rest of your lifes. Love to you both Dona Jackson
