Great video but a few points - and I own Zenology, Omnisphere, and many other VSTs: 1. Zenology actually allows deep sound creation. 2. You can own any instrument in Roland Cloud. 3. Omnisphere is a supremely powerful synth, I agree, but, there is another VST that is orders of magnitude more powerful and that is Falcon 3. People are terrified by the interface but, once you get used to it, Falcon 3 can do everything Omnisphere can do and much more. In my opinion, all three are worth the plunge.
I myself use Zenology n say it has a quick access of sounds whiles Omnisphere has too much sounds u don't know which one to use n u might lose inspiration in creating the music cuz u r searching for the perfect sound that might take hours.Busy i would agree with u on this one
Zenology Core is available at only $2.99 per month. Zenology Pro is available for purchase at $229. Also Zenology really is made for sound design because you design the sounds you want to use in all the Zen hardware. Synth wise, Arturia V is really a hard competition and then with Native Instrument's Komplete, you have way more than Omni.
Hey brother! Thanks so much for this very objective and informative review of two powerful plugins! If you have the chance, I would appreciate seeing more examples of the "bread-and-butter" and your "goto" sounds in both plugins. I spent the $500 for Omnisphere several months ago due to its pervasive usage in modern music; yet what you presented regarding Xenology got me thinking again about consuming the Roland subscription. So hearing again what you'd recommend, if you haven't done so in another video already, would be greatly empowering! Thanks again!
Thanks for the explanation. Price has kept me away from Omni. Got the Zenology Lite and was highly impressed by the presets/patches it came with that has me thinking about the full Zenology version.
Yup, this is the correct assessment. No filler, no bs. Zenology for bread and butter sounds, Omnisphere for power users, out of the box sound design, or synth. But a secret weapon that most Omnishere users are unaware of is the sound source browser... that's where the real fun begins.
@@BEATSBYJAREL they are very good with sound design but at the same time they have enough musical presets to keep preset pushers from making all these weird songs.
@@g-soul4771 yea word... in omnisphere you really have to sound design...the presets is set for electronic music like techno and shit..not enough hip hop presets
I tried Zenology last year and these were my thoughts: The expansions like the SRX cards and XV5080 when ran through Zenology are pretty dry and lose most if not all the great sound design FX settings. However, if you run the literal SRX and XV5080 plugins themselves you get them just like their hardware versions. You can buy those straight up for $69 each for the SRX and $130 for XV5080. I got rid of Zenology and bought the XV5080 plug-in. I also run the XV5080 plug-in through decimort 2 and use the Mpc 60 or ASR 10 preset to make the sound even bigger. If you want more realistic acoustic patches, NI Komplete (Kontakt), the Spitfire Labs free, or Fabric XL plug-in are good complementary plugins.
I have zenology, it reminds me of my FA08 with some of the free expansion packs, i put the D-50, JD, JP Integra sounds on there as well... Sounds pretty much the same to me.
Well in the end .. is about the creation and creator.. doesn’t matter how many cool vsts we have .. just more fun with choices but to much can block the musical process ..
I personally have Roland cloud zenology being one of the vsts from the cloud pack…I love it love it love it but I’m in their ecosphere now with the ultimate plan it’s steep asl but for what you get with it, and its healthy amount of sounds/arsenal so no complaints is it for everyone no,but BSW all those sounds I. Their plus other individual emulators that they have can’t beat it although there are times I wish I had omnisphere but I’m happy with what I have I can’t front though nexus is 🔥🔥😮🥴🤯
But the boss behind Omnisphere was Sounddesigner (programming synths) for Roland. Also for Michael Jackson somehow back then. Did you know that? I think, I get a lot of Roland with Omnisphere. The most relevant sound master of Roland created Omnisphere. That's most probably the right way to view it.
Zenology has more clean sounds you said? (Or something like that)... because the Omnisphere Sounds are all(?) (or just way more of them) designed with effects and if you turn them off, they probably sound more like what you prefer in Zenology. That's my assumption.
Omnisphere is over hyyyyyyyped.. Zenology pro with the presets and expansion Is 🔥🔥🔥 Zenology Pro has presets you can actually USE. And almost does the same thing as Omnisphere
korg has plugins (KORG Collection 4 series) , even you are saying that . i prefer omnisphere , for sound design and they gives preset .Plus you own the product, not zenology .thats the problem .
It is my favourite VST and I got it cracked in Atlanta. Its the hardest VST out... Ronald always go hard, but after buying so many plug-ins and wasting money I ain't paying for it. Zenology has EVERYTHING inside. Juno 106, JV 1080, and so on. Every keyboard made by Roland is in Zenology. Personally I would never buy or even crack Omnisphere. Going through the sounds is horrendous... because most of the sounds are trash. My opinion. Not fact. Don't get upset by my words, please. I am not here to argue. Just sharing my thoughts as requested by busyworksbeats in his pinned comment.
These aren't comparable. Totally 2 different animals. Zenology is just all Roland Synth sounds(thousands of which mostly sound the same). Omnisphere is Everything. Eric Persing used to work with Roland. He takes Zeneology tech and UPS IT to a whole new level. The sound quality of Omnisphere stomps all over Zeneology too. Why does an Omnisphere D-50 patch sound better then a Roland D-50 Patch? Hmmmmm. Maybe because Eric designed em? LOL
You can’t compare Zenology free to Omnisphere. Zenology pro is meant for sound designers you are wrong sir don’t compare the scaled down version to full blown Omnispere
