I have ~80 miles in these and live in a cold weather state. I’ve been an On skeptic as mostly I see suburban dads wearing On’s at soccer games. But I like these so far. The midsole feels great to me, great transition thanks to that “speed board”. I find myself noticing the ankle collar a bit on these. And today I ran in rain and the insole slipped back in the shoe a bit, which has never happened to me before in rain. But I’m enjoying them otherwise.
A great companion for the Cloudsurfer 7, a bit firmer and better for a longer run but really like them both, On are on a roll and also make fantastic running apparel!
You guys should do a video on the entire On line. Like this you can help any people with purchasing for their needs. I’m looking for something Comfortable I can use everyday and maybe even take to gym
This Shoes is the WORST hello "influencer" Just stop misleading people with your lies to get few dollars from this company. STOP SPREADING LIES oncloud is the worst shoes I have every wore or bought in my life they started to be squeaky after 2 months what a shame, now they will be thrown as it is so embarrassing to wear them I emailed their customer services, they told me the floor is causing it. well, no they squeak on every floor this is the worst shoes I have ever bought in my life I bought it in the UK and cost me 160£ for this price I could have bought two from my favourite comfy brand clark or ecco never again, I will never buy from this company again. wat a shame, expensive shoes for rubbish quality. my feet are hurting me, now I have an expensive shoes in the garbage bin with no use. it caused me feet pain, bruises and more! it does not provide support, and it makes your feet boiling. this shoes does not allow your feet to breath and it become smelly after few days of wearing it. never again I am so disappointed. I wish I had read the comments, I am hopeful my review will make you think twice before wasting your money.
Get the cloudmonster 2’s - these are also good for all of those, except both aren’t ideal for compound lifts because you want something flat soled for that.
Runrepeat tests shoes by placing them in the fridge to see how much the midsole hardens in the cold which for someone like myself that lives in Canada is important. I'm glad Thomas comments on cold weather performance. I predict V2 will fix the loose upper (most reviews comment about this) but hopefully keep a wide toebox, natural human toes splay outwards not inwards.
Yes eva foam is very Temperature Sensitive (bad in cold temperatur) better is Tpu foam and best is pebax almost no different between cold and hot temperatures in firmness.
Thanks for the recommendation! I ended up ordering these as they were on sale on Running Warehouse. I wanted an easy shoe with a little bit of pop. I got a pair of the Asics Nimbus 26, but they felt like running through sand. Got these as a replacement, and they feel soft, but got that responsiveness that makes running fun.
I'm a heavier guy (210lbs) and the foam/holes or gaps completely collapse when I walk in these (I thought they would do that when I ran but not when I walk). Does that mean I'm too heavy for these or are they supposed to do that?
Hello :) Great review! Quesiton.. I love the Cloudsurfer7. At every run it feels awesome soft and just like a max cushioning shoe. But when I go pass 10-15km on my easy tarmac runs they start to feel harder and harder. It`s like I go straight trough the foram and it`s a "barefoot shoe" For the next run they feel great again. Any experience with this? Hopefully I will not get this with the Eclipe. That I ordered from the website 2-3 weeks ago. Still not recived it. I think they are busy down in Swiss at the moment! A bit of a On fanboy here. Used them since 2018 as I thought they were uniqe and different. But even as a fan I totaly agree with you. The last year have been an awesome year to be a fan of On shoes. Anders
I really like the upper on the surfer.. and now the eclipse I bought today. For some reason when I get a heavier or thicker upper I tend to get blisters.
NB SC Elite 3 is definitely more spongy.. and also more snappy.. I use them for my racing shoe and love them... I also use the Cloud Eclipse as my daily trainer.. high stack, cushioned, but very stable and a firmer cushion, rather than a soft/spongy cushion. I feel like the cloud eclipse can be pushed harder than others like the Invincible 3, Nimbus 25 etc.. I absolutely love this shoe.. it's brilliant!
Interesting that the Ghost Max was mentioned , as that is on my list for next possible GRIT run /high milage shoe and now this will also be a contender ..will be having detailed discussions /try outs at my local shoe store.
The CloudPhase tech is the future of On Running IMHO. That midsole tech has turned me-an On hater and Helion foam hater-into a fan. The Cloudsurfer and now the CloudEclipse make a great one-two punch, and I can use either/both for general non-running purposes too. The CloudEclipse will be the shoe I travel with when I fly to see family for the holidays.
If I went by reviews and reviews in the comments sections literally every single shoe on the market is bad and literally every shoes is great. I've learned that the only way to tell is to try it out myself. What shoe do you like?
@@Kaisersozze Order from running warehouse so you can try them and return if you don’t like them. Thats what I did. I was afraid I wouldn’t like them and I was right. The Topo Atmos is a great shoe.
great shoe horrible lace system..ON stop! make it simple.. just poke some holes in it stop with loop hole style and the plate position in middle is not kind with rocks acorns etc..ruff
