I have been intrigued to try ON shoes but haven't had the chance yet. This seems like a good improvement to previous versions, also the new Cloudvista for trails looks quite interesting.
Used to wear oncloud until Nike released its vaporfly, different ball game but these new oncloud look good, the old oncloud were good apart from stones getting jammed in sole pockets. Great video.
I appreciate the fantastic review! I'm looking to purchase my first pair of ON shoes. Due to osteoarthritis and a meniscus torn in two places in the right knee, I'm currently not a runner...just a walker averaging about 4.2mph on walks from 4 miles to 10 miles. Which ON shoe would you recommend for walking (and every day wear) with cushioning to help with comfort on my knees? I've tried extreme cushioning shoes (ie: Hoka) in the past and don't like the "extremely squishy" feel of overly cushioned shoes...but need some cushioning for my knees. Thanks for any recommendation!
The whole On lineup is broken down by qualifiers here. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fWoKfcpx1vM.html they have a nice graph too you can take a screen shot of. This might help. My son is getting the newest model, CloudGo delivered tomorrow. Good luck!
Hi Leo. I run in On Cloudflyers and bought a pair of Cloudrunners last night. I’ve not run on the road with them yet but they felt very similar to the flyers on the treadmill. Perhaps a bit softer on the mid foot and roll forward a bit better. I also tried the Cloudmonster which are very different. The monster has basically no ground contact from the mid foot forward which feels really peculiar. Not uncomfortable but very odd. I took a few strides in them and almost switched straight off then took a few more strides, increased the speed, then a bit more, then a bit more. I’m quite a slow runner (approx 7min kms) but it’s uncanny how much easier I found it to run faster in the monsters and they do feel really comfy when running and more so when you increase speed. When you slow down and walk then stand they feel really odd again I went with the runner in the end as they are really comfortable, feel more like what I’m used to and I could imagine covering a good distance in them comfortably but there is definitely a very good case for the monster if you can get past the odd initial feeling and the butt ugly styling.
Seriously the worst running shoes I’ve ever worn. ZERO cushion. My body aches every time I run in them. I will try changing the insoles to add some padding.
Forget gravity is a strong marketing strapline. Believe in better Sky my favourite. On Cloud strong brand name. Hmmmmmmm. Who runs this company. A company under an umbrella company or a small company with runners in the board. God knows. How much are these Ben. I’m a cyclist. I’d love to run. It’s cool. Making the jump tough. My knees currently stay fluid spinning the wheels over not battered by concrete. Every time I run 50 odd k over 3 runs week holiday no bike I love it !!!
