There is a Japanese art called Kintsugi, which is the art of repairing broken things so that the broken thing becomes an object of beauty precisely because it was broken. We can't avoid being broken, I think. We can only make an art of the repairing.

"The balance of everything, and the capacity to choose the good over the bad". So interesting that definition of happiness.

Feel comfortable in knowing that you are so not alone in your emotions. Your story is telling wgat many of us feel ourselves. This is why you have the followers that you have. It's very soothing, knowing that One can understand and share in the context of what they are hearing. Heartbteaks are painful but they indicate that you still remain innocent and yet powerful enough to respond to life's challenges. You just haven't met up with The One quite yet. That person exists and the intersection where you will meet, you have not arrived at yet. What you hold most dear in your heart is what unfolds to you in abundance so guard your thoughts with diligence. Those thoughts are your roadmap.

Heartbreak is basically disappointment with life or disillusionment in regard to people or situations. Life rarely turns out exactly how we (or others) expect it to. But it's not always a negative thing because sometimes we need to let go of our illusions and face reality in order to make progress. For example, the realisation that you'll never be a movie star, but can certainly work towards a job in the film industry.

I don't think that is the best example , but maybe : "You'll never be able to grow taller then your genetics allow"

When me and my ex wife divorced we continued to have a close relationship with each other. We never argued in front of the kids. I left my ex wife with the house so that my children did not have to uproot or downsize to a different house. I paid child support every month until they were 18. Also the main thing was to try to show our two children that we BOTH as parents were there for them 24/7 even though their parents were no longer together.

I've lived through many serious heartbreaks. I've lost 3 babies, one who died during in labor. I watched my mother die of cancer. The worst was waking,on Valentine's Day of all days, and finding my husband dead at 45, having to tell our 5 children he was gone. Leaving the cemetery, leaving him forever nearly killed me. Tonight, the night before Father's Day, listening to all the kids cry. There is some heartbreak that you never recover from, and losing the man I was with more than half my life, having to live the rest of my life without him and watching the 5 kids we created have to grow up without him, qualifies. I can't imagine going through anything else that could cut me to the core as much.

Bonjour Emy! Thank you for sharing your story and as always for being so vulnerable. I believe this is one of my favorite video's of yours to date. I specially like how you concluded saying that hapiness is not the absence of pain and sadness, but a way to balance it all. Take care

Obviously everyone's experiences are different, but I empathise so much with you. I have experienced a lot of heartache in the past and I found this video really helpful and relatable. I am sorry that you have suffered this much. Thanks for making this.

I really feel you, Emy. When I was a teenager, I also met a person online with whom I fell in love. But she left me all alone out the sudden which broke my heart. I still remind myself, it wasn't my fault, better forget about it but sometimes pain comes back so strongly and crushes me down. Thank you for the video. Bad things happen. For some people more often than the others. What's important is that how you handle them, learn your lesson and keep living no matter what is going to happen next.

Emy, first of all, I want to thank you for posting this video. I am very touched and moved by your story about your parent's separation. My parents are unhappy and have been that way for a very, very long time. They are still together and 2016 mark their fifteen years of being together. I used to feel very sad when I see children of separated parents but then I realised, not all couples who are together are in love. I am convinced that loveless marriages run in my family but hey, I can't do anything.
@TinaKGreene

Similar situation. My parents are religious so they would never divorce. But I know (and so does everyone else) that they barely talk to each other, and if they do, they get so irritated with each other, it's truly heartbreaking to watch. They are just too different, there's no way they could live happily together. And just like your family, all my grandparents and other relatives live or lived in unhappy marriages. There's even a legend of some kind of a curse on the family 😕

+Кристина Гриненко oh no that's terrible! How are you doing? It's hard to explain this in words, but I've never felt like my family are my actual family. I don't feel any connection to them because their way of thinking is sooo different than mine. I consider my friends my real family and sometimes I even feel guilty of it. I feel so trapped because on one side, I feel obligated to feel grateful for having a fairly well-off family yet, I don't want to be held back from achieving my goals.

+Stefanie Callista you know, even though I've suffered from it a lot, this huge difference in my parents actually made me a versatile person. They can hardly find common things to speak about, whereas I can speak to both of them because I share some interests with each of them. I have a very strong bond only with my mom however.

The situation in my family was very ugly too so I kind of know what you're talking about. But my parents never divorced wich was even uglier in my opinion. I was hoping they will break up (cuz they was happy and calm when they was each on their own) but that never happen. I never saw them in a happy relationship and this affected me a lot. Anyway. My dad died in 2010. He had cancer.

my parents divorced when i was 11 or 12 I want to say, he had a second family, im not mad now, people just fuck up and you stop seeing your parents as these heros and they just become people like everyone is. also my version of love and relationships has always been very different, everything is temporary and people come into your life to teach you something, but you cant own someone even if there is this contract. or im in a relationship so that means i have to turn off my love for my friends because im with you, we are one now. no, nobody will complete you, sad but true.

Thanks. I really need this right now. I am also Asexual and have had 3 really bad heartaches. Ive always been willing to have sex tho so that has never been a problem but becuz I never felt loved, I was way too clingy and obsessive. :( I went into a REALLY BAD depression where I didnt leave my room for days, didnt shower, didnt eat. I just cried and cried and cried in a dark room. I cried so much, my clothes and pillow were completely drenched. I wanted to die so bad and felt anxious going out.

thank you for your honesty... do you think, your bad experience with your ex-boyfriend, made you asexual? because my first love/sex experience was pretty bad too and now i feel disgusted and ashamed if i think about sex... because he was not very nice as well and he treated me sometimes like a piece of shit... ok, i don't think i'm a asexual because sometimes i feel aroused, but when i met someone and it comes to sex, just want to flee, because i feel so disgusted, even when i'm attracted to that person :(

search her channel, she has made videos about asexuality!! p.s. asexuality refers to lack of ATTRACTION to others, not arousal, its possible you could be asexual and still feel arousal! i would recommend visiting www.asexuality.org/home/ or doing a search of youtube to hear about people's individual experiences. much love

I had never seen realy long relationship between two people like in cinema. specially between man and women. I mean realy never. friendship maybe, but not love. And for this reason I don't belive that it works. Often it's more like addiction. Even if it looks like very strong relationship, love, it always there is something hidden. It is always temporary. And I agree that life is a lot abot choices and prices. It not possible to get everything. And it's not good or bad thing. It just works like this.

+Rania El Fahli How can I say such things? Uhh becuz I have a right to free thought and an opinion. I also said I HAVE come to the conclusion... yes based off MY experiences. You dont have to agree... you have YOUR right to believe what you want based on YOUR experiences. I base my opinions not on just my life but looking at the world in general AND science. Science has proven love acts the same and fades the same as a drug. Its an illusion. A lot only stay together because they got COMFORTABLE

+The Vegan Personally I lack both sexual attraction and desire but a lot just lack attraction so maybe u ARE Asexual... maybe u are romantic and just see guys u like as cute or cuddely. Thats how I view someone I fancy. I dont get all excited by abbs or anything. Maybe the guy expected u to act like a porn star or something. If not, I think u are just realistic. Sex IS gross. Most people have blinders on... usually sexual desires clouds a persons judgement. If it didnt... no one would procreate
