So great to see Bond, James Bond, back on RU-vid. I had them all lined up for listening several years ago, but after the first two books, they were taken down. So hurry up everyone! Before they disappear.😊
What an excellent book, only thing that stuck out was the fact that escaping the pursuers he states they struggle to get away as they have chains on. Chains are only good up to 30 or they fly apart.
The final battle between Bond and Blofeld in you only live twice I thought was a great ending to this story arch. Probably the best Bond v Blofeld fight outta everything books and films

Oddly, i prefer the book to the film (prefer Tracy as a blonde although Diana Rigg was gorgeous) And even more interestingly, can't help but thinking of Connery as Bond in this
On Her Majesty's Secret Service movie is one of my favourite James Bond movies. Have yet to read the book. I read that movie was faithful to the book not sure if that is true.
"A Westerly OFF SHORE breeze"? 9.50. That would be an ONSHORE breeze on any Atlantic beach in the north of France. A minor but surprising mistake from Mr Fleming
Word is, during the filming of this movie the director thought that George Lazenby might be gay. So to prove his straightness George ended up banging all the films actresses. If you’ve seen the movie, you’d know how lucky he was, there’s like 20 model-level beauties in that one.
Yeah.. that's total bollocks. What actually happened is that the producers were concerned that anyone who had previously worked as a male model might not be straight. A rather uneducated and dated presumption. Before they gave him the role they sent a hooker to his room to make sure he liked women. When he tells the story he says that someone was there watching to make sure.. but George has always been a bit liberal with the truth so it's difficult to know for sure.
Acquire backups and physical copies of all the things you like. I've been doing it for years because I knew this was coming. The cultural vandalism is only getting started.
@@tllaw I've been listening too dudes channel for awhile now while I try to fall asleep. All I could think about at work is if this news means this gets taking down for hate speech 💬 id be heated.
@@DaveSCameron Aren’t you busy ruining the UK, David? Anyway, this was a year ago, so I have no idea what I was referring to. But I’m sure it was well-reasoned, intelligent, and cogent.
Indeed very overrated, the Bond Girl is probably the weakest of all the Bond Girls in the books, weepy, bipolar, self pitying, needy, having tantrums, childish, immature and a damsel in distress. The romance is given no rationale of why Bond fell in love with this damaged girl? Not buying it and it's rushed. The plot doesn't makes sense, why Blofeld's plan was just aimed at UK? and yes, this is coming from someone who loves the movie, so.....
This Book is way too overrated! But a very underrated film! Tracy is the weakest Bond Girls in the books, weepy, bipolar, immature and childish, having tantrums, self pitying, and needy, not worthy of Bond's proposal, wished that Bond just dumped this Bond Girl somewhere, she's annoying. Diana Rigg's version is a vast improvement and miles better, in fact, she's my favorite Bond Girl in the films, tough, witty, had an inner fire and warmth in her, headstrong and not easily turned by Bond's charm, she's also playful. The romance was given no rationale of why Bond fell in love with this damaged girl? What Tracy had that made Bond fell in love with her? Nothing! In fact she had all of the negative qualities that men hates in a woman. Not buying it, and it's rushed, not convincing. The film improved on it by giving Tracy a lot more to do, showing her qualities, thus proving that she's worthy of being Bond's wife, and the film gave time to develop their romance too. The plot doesn't makes sense (why Blofeld's plot was only aimed at UK?), what an overrated Bond novel. The film's plot at least was aimed worldwide, to make the stakes higher, hence more plausible and made more sense. The plots are disjointed in the book, the film at least connected these two by having Blofeld kidnapped Tracy. Great narration by Tenant though. And yes, this is coming from the one who really loves the movie version of this book. Top 5 or maybe even Top 3 Bond film! Mediocre Fleming Book!
