Patacara was a rich man’s daughter of Sravasti. But she fell in love with a servant and eloped with him to a village far away from Sravasti. Many years later, Patacara became expectant.And customs in India require that children be borne at her parents’ house. But the husband refused to go along with the idea.Patacara chose to ignore her husband’s refusal and set out to return to her parental home with an elder son.
But a lot of unfortunate things happened, Patacara endured the losses of her husband and boys in just one day and found her parents and elder brothers all drowned in the flood. Upon learning about the misery, she broke down entirely.
