Ah, now eventually you do plan to have dinosaurs on your, on your, dinosaur tour, right?
Beyond the Backlot travels to Isla Nublar to visit the living breathing backlot that are the Jurassic Park filming locations! The adventure is out there! Are there dinosaurs on our adventure? Will we make it to the T-Rex Paddock? How about Jurassic Falls? Join us as Curtis, and the crew, track down these iconic and memorable locations of one of the biggest movies of all-time.

I'm amazed that the actors had to hike in to location areas like in the amber mine scene but it's great that it's not all back projection or in a studio.

Hi Nicole....actually, the actors and crew didn't have to hike anywhere....that location is on a beautiful estate called Valley House. They all just drove in. On the same property they built the large visitors center set and also filmed the triceratops scene. This crew most likely wasn't able to get permission to enter the property or preferred the hike. It is legal to hike along riverbeds and streams. These guys did a great job of filming the location.

Always test an electric fence with back of hand. This way your hand doesn't close with the charge and prevent you from pulling your hand away.

The best way is to hold a piece of green grass or leaf and touch the fence with it. It transfers a slight shock but not painful. Its how we test electric fences for cows. Also if it is a modern electric fence it wont lock your hand on it because it's a pulsing current about twice a second. It's like this so people dont get stuck to it

sterling bowers there’s a lot of fences that you need to hold it for a couple seconds before it shocks you , found out the hard way by testing it and not getting shocked so I pulled down a wire to step through and got caught in between the fence when it turned on

Oh man.... I hadn't been up to the spillway in YEARS. I had no idea the road had deteriorated that much. If I had known I would've advised Chris against heading up there with the kind of weather I'd been seeing up there that afternoon. Glad you guys managed to get back out before the river got higher....especially with the amount of rain you were getting. That... could've gone very bad very fast.

We didn’t do any filming in Costa Rica, just Kauai. We worked with the film commission and private owners for permissions.

I cried watching this, Jurassic Park is my all time favorite movie. It was the first movie my mom ever bought for me as a kid and it was on VHS. I'll never forget the first time I watched it and the joy it brought to me. You guys rock for this thanks for sharing your experience.

I would love to visit these places. Jurassic Park is a very important movie for me. My world changed in 1993 (Far too complicated to go into here). I was a newly minted teen (turned 13 in April) and I spent all summer begging, hoping, my parents would take me to go see the movie. For whatever reason, they never did. I had the bed set, the stationary set, the comic book... all of it. But they never would take me to see the movie. Then, in the last week of summer, and incidentally the final few days the movie was in cinemas here, we went to visit some family friends whose kids, same age as me, were going to go see it at their local cinema that was right around the corner. I cast a look at my dad and he had some money in his hand, ready for me to take. I was finally allowed to go see it! OH MY GOD, it was SO worth the wait. I loved every single moment. It was everything I had hoped it was. I was actually quite sad at the end because after all that waiting and pent up anticipation, it was over. Getting to actually visit the locations would be mind blowing for me! Alas, a youtube video like this is the closest I'm ever going to get. Thank you for this, you earned a new sub today :)

I remember I was only 7 years old when this movie came to theaters and begging my mother to take me to see it. I became an instant fan that night when we went to go see it. I’m 34 now and still have all my Jurassic Park toys and video games. Every time I here the music from the movie, it really takes me back. Thank you for sharing this video for us fans. My favorite dinosaur is the Dilophosaurus by the way.

ROFLMAO I'm a Land Surveyor and you come across electric fences all the time and I've taken a hit a few times, even in the crotch trying to step over!

I subscribed one minute in. I was 12 when the movie came out and it has been an all time favorite. 1993 was 27 years ago. That's so crazy to me. As a 12 year old kid seeing that movie i was floored. What is definitely missing here is they should have gotten a license to let it stay up for fans, my god go there and still see the fences, just one of the touring cars and the tunnel... and the helipad at Jurassic falls, with a jeep or two... what a dream that would be. When my friend went to Hawaii a few years ago he was able to find and take a photo of the original log/stump that Alan and the kids hide behind during the Rex Gallimimus attack scene. Apparently it's a bit of a tourist attraction, shame you guys didn't get some footage with it!

Aww Man, I've just watched this yet again, and it gives me those ' goosebumps ' on the back of your neck.. the thrill of reliving a childhood memory ( and adult), the passion, enthusiasm & production quality of this is so amazing , it couldn't have been better. Don't ever grab an electric fence/wire with palm side of hand. Current Can cause hand to close and not be able to pull away

Correct, and I'll add to never use both hands to create a path across the heart. Back of a single hand is preferred, but the best is not touching unknown electrical circuits.

Absolutely brilliant guys, loved every moment of this video. I fully appreciate the passion and the emotion of visiting movie locations. The best one for me was when my wife arranged a dream holiday to Martha's Vineyard for 2 weeks back in 2009. I got the chance to visit all the locations for my favorite movie Jaws, meet many people who were involved in the movie, buy three production used barrels and several sections of the Orca II, and was lucky to get back three more times since. My wife often recounts the first time we pulled up at Menemsha village where Quints shack was located and I literally got out of the car whilst it was still moving. The people of Martha's Vineyard are lovely, one elderly fella asked me what an English man was doing on the island for two weeks, he wanted to know if I was making sure the people of the Martha's Vineyard where looking after My Island Lol. Nice fella, very funny and I hope he's still kicking around. Take care everyone and stay safe.

Jurassic Park is such a classic and such a good movie. I never noticed that the cloths Dennis wore were about the same as some of the characters from The Goonies

Beyond the Backlot I just don’t get why you don’t have so many subscribers... When I saw your channel and all the crew members I was like oh that man has probably so many subs but you only have 1k.You deserve such more, you have a camera crew. Not many of the biggest RU-vidrs have a camera crew. You deserve way more.

Grabbing the electric fence took me back to a boys scout trip wayyyyyyyyy back in the day. We came upon an electrified cow fence while hiking and did the exact same thing!

I was fortunate enough to take a helicopter tour in Kauai a few years back and saw some of these locations. It’s beautiful. It’s hard to imagine how they filmed in such remote locations here.
