Kate comes off as being lovely, dedicated, and focused...what a treat to see her in this interview. She did wind up adopting down the line, and has a son now.
Thanks for this interview! I am so tired of people calling her a B*****!!!! I've heard people call some of my friends B****** too but they are just smart, honest, determined people who have very sweet hearts and will always be loyal. Kate is AWSOME!
SUCH A GREAT SHOW!!! WHATEVER THEY MAY SAY ABOUT KATE, LOOK HOW GOOD A SHOW IT WAS, SHE MUST OF BEEN DOING SOMETHING RIGHT!! MISS SEEING HER ON TV. SHE'S MY FAVE ACTRESS!!! THX FOR POSTING THIS
I'm so grateful for women like Kate who pushed through the barriers and became strong working women. It's ridiculous that she was labeled as being "difficult" for wanting the best out of a project. Gee, I suppose she should have just nodded her head and went along with whatever like a nice girl. She did change the whole original concept for CA. It was going to be "Ally Cats" and involve 3 women in leather fighting crime. Kate talked them out of leather, renamed them angels and had the idea for Charlie to communicate with them via phone. Honestly, with her having so much to do with the concept I don't know why she wasn't given creative credit. Bullshit. I think all surviving "Angels" owe her a debt of gratitude. If she hadn't had the name changed from "Ally Cats" they would have spent the last 4 decades hearing pu$$y innuendo rather than sweet "Angel" references :)
That's just so sad, she says a couple of times that she wants 2 children and then a couple of years after that she got cancer. Isn't she still single? I'm so glad she adopted a son, think she'd make a great mom.
So she was difficult because she had her own ideas and wanted to improve the series where she worked on? Oh come on, so most of the people are difficult too! Including myself. Thanks she changed the original idea of "Charlie's Angels".
Now I can see the friction between her and Cheyrl Ladd. I think Kate was a dramatic actress more suitable for women's lib at that timeand Cheyrl Ladd was more of a non political, lighthearted actress. Nothing wrong with either but with those different views there will be friction.
In fact Cheryl was/is a very conservative Republican! Kate a liberal Democrat! That caused a lot of friction!! Cheryl was also a diva on the set. And Ladd’s lack of work ethics was another problem. Team Kate
Kate probably turned down a lot of casting Directors couches and didn't play there way, she is a strong, independent women and didn't want to be exploited. Just like Betty Davis and Joan Crawford they were labeled as difficult to work with. And if Bruce Boxleitner wasn't so full of himself he should have jumped at the chance to do another Scarecrow and mrs king when Kate got better, didn't he know Kate Jackson and Scarecrow and Mrs King made him a house hold name not those other movies in some of his movies he was just comic relief. They are both older now and another SMK would not work so I just injoy the reruns.
Women always struggles trying to have both a career and a family. I get the feeling from this interview she seems to be more concerned with having a sperm donator rather than a loving husband.
I’ve met Kate twice. She’s a class act. Beautiful, talented lady. And she refused to allow misogyny to marginalize her. She’s a badass shero. Always love her.
