It's good to see that they were able to put the trauma aside for a moment and remember a time when they were friends. Really heartbreaking how a violent world can tear apart a friendship like this. Even though Ruby was able to forgive Latrelle's actions, the system couldn't.
@@coneheadlivie4037 That's right! The good question is where are these Latrelle fans coming from? Have they forgotten that he shot an innocent teen girl and killed her on purpose? F him!
The way how he wanted Ruby to keep him from turning 18 and to stay a little longer just so he can finish his soda shows how scare he is going to jail and he just wanted somebody his age to talk to that isn’t a prophet. He knew he made a mistake.
@@falloutboy9424 Ruby: you don’t have power over me, not anymore [inhales] [exhales sharply] Alright… that’s all I wanted to say. {Ruby stands up and walks toward the door} Latrelle: you think I wa- {Ruby exits the room and abruptly leaves the detention center} Latrelle: the fuck, yo he ain’t listen to me talk.
I’m proud of Ruby for facing his past demons and confronting Latrelle. He was really traumatised so to see him visit Latrelle to find closure in person speaks volumes to me and shows how much he’s grown. It also helped in gaining a broader perspective from both sides, especially Latrelle’s. I felt bad and even sympathised for him despite what he did. He deserves to serve his time, its just unfortunate it came to that since we know he’s not all bad. He was just a kid too. A kid that mistakably threw his life away as soon as he pulled that trigger.
He wasn’t no different than Ceasar other than the fact that they just had the unfortunate luck of being on the opposite sides. Damn shame too because some fans said they’d wished Latrelle was part of the main cast instead of Olivia.
Latrelle being in prison and Oscar dying was extremely sad. Latrelle never wanted the life he had and Oscar finally turned his life around and was exited to have a little daughter but never got to see her
I think the reason for this scene was purely based on perspective. If you really think about it, Latrelle is probably just like Cesar. My man probably got jumped into a gang that he didn't want to be apart of, and was made to do certain things that he had to do because it was his only lifestyle (otherwise it's being homeless or on the run). It's even sadder when you realize that the only difference between him and Cesar is probably that Cesar had friends and people that cared about him, people that didn't want the hood life for him. For Latrelle, the only people he probably could resort to was those that were in the hood. This is just a theory but I definitely think it makes sense. Deep inside he doesn't have the intent to do harm it's just those he's surrounded by. I mean, Ruby, the person who hated him the most got to share a drink and conversate with him.
I agree with this but he did mention his mom and I think he had a daughter?! I am going to to rewatch… but I think his mom gave up on him at some point made when he got a girl pregnant??? Idk just a thought tho.
This scene had me crying man. These young men that are in the prison system aren’t bad people they just made bad choices simply to survive! I love how Latrell was able to convey that pain
Bruh he merked a girl and almost killed another idk why ur actin like he was a little baby who jus made a bad choice smh even if he was young he took a gun to a party w the intention to kill someone he deservs to be in there man maby a second chance but thats kinda Pushin it
@@santiagoozuna9215 Okay let’s get a couple things straight real quick, one my name isn’t bruh. You can see my name at the top, wanna address me address me right. Two, I never said that what Latrelle did was correct at all. He pulled the trigger knowing the possibilities of his consequences in the end. Three, I made my comment cause I was amazed how the character portrayed real life events of how young men who live in these neighborhoods, without support systems from family, and ends up turning to gangs for family and protection. Now you can carry on.
@@tatyanajohnson4798 n bruh its the exact same scenerio as a lil white kid shootin up a school cus he got bullied lmao he shot into a crowd of people at a birthday party he deserves life in prison bruh
@@santiagoozuna9215 Must be hard at hearing and understanding cause I asked you not to call me that. You’re being disrespectful, so therefore I don’t care to further the conversation. Good day.
Maybe Latrell really did regret his mistakes, afterall he removed his teardrop he got for killing Olivia. He had it when he returned and Cesar tried to kill him.
When ruby said latrell was just a kid and has no power over him, Latrell's response made the scene. He knew he was only a kid and didnt realize that the life he was living was going to end him in there. That soda was a little tatse of freedom but also a reminder of his mistake and how he lost his freedom
If we’re all being honest Latrell was literally Cesar the thing is that he was portrayed at the antagonist of the crew but him and Cesar were placed in the same spot i mean they both are opposite sides of the same coin
Yeah La Trell was jumped into the gang life much younger than Ceasar was, which ended with him making worse decisions in life on top the fact that this life is all he knows. Ceasar was not always a gangster, all of it was just a phaze, we was never the gangster that spooky was.
They should make a spin off called “Latrelle” experiencing his experiences in jail and Ruby could be in the show visiting him from time to time and maybe they could develop a close friendship. Maybe you could throw a little backstory in there like how he got into the gang and what he has done throughout. And maybe Cesar could visit too.
This scene was really sad and in my opinion pretty powerful. Latrell was 14 when he went in there & you can see he’s scared to go to real jail and sad his mom doesn’t visit him. He definitely deserves jail time but I wonder how much time he actually got? He shouldn’t have a life sentence. Do you remember how stupid you were at 14? Combine that with a bad neighborhood gang life everywhere & no one looking out for you is a recipe for disaster
Hun. He killed a girl and almost killed someone else. He deserves nothing but jail. Environment only effects so much in a person. You can always idk have a pair of balls and not break the law and murder people 😂 I’m so tired of the excuse of environment being the reason people can’t take accountability for their own actions. He knew damn well what right and wrong was.
@@raegenarmer2351shut up you sound stupid probably someone who's never lived in that type of environment yall always talk like yall know just talking out ya ass
@raegenarmer2351 it takes a village to raise someone, bro. If that is all you're around, and you fall in, its hard to get out of that bro. And when you're that young you're brain has not fully developed; So it's hard to make certain decisions for yourself. But I do agree with you to a certain extent
Sad to say but this scene made me emotional like they grew up together and squash the beef and one last moment together before they shipped him off.._..But it was good to see latrelle again
Yes he was never bad. He was a product of his environment and the writers were showing that he and Cesar were the opposites if the same coin. Cesar had people that cared about him.
ngl this scene was one of my only favorites and one of the most memorable parts of the whole final season + i love that they brought back the melodies from “bottle rocket” towards the end, that’s a rlly cool detail imo
@Emontre waters the writers made us forget about Olivia on purpose because they got a problem with the actress in real life. "She's not a Latino! Oh she's a Trump supporter!" They really messed up her character. The question is WHY DID THEY HIRE HER THEN?! Them lousy directors really piss me off today in most movies and TV shows that used to be great.
I think the saddest part is Latrelle really didn’t want him to stay for the soda. But because he had an honest conversation with a friend for once in a long time and he missed that normalcy.
‘Can you stay while I drink this’ acc made me sad He did kill Olivia who I acc liked (the character not the actor). But you could really tell that he regrets or is at least lonely inside Juvie
The him and Ruby start shooting the shit about they’re time as kids really shows this is all Latrell ever needed, was a real friend, friends like Cesar had to push him on the right path, thinking about it now Latrell could’ve been in theyre friend group had the prophets not got to him first, sad but realistic story, I’ve known a few Latrell’s in my life
After this scene, think it would have been hella interesting in like szn3 latrell ended up joinin the gang and the cast try to deal with that. Cause bros actor is great and it would have been interesting development for almost every main character. Plus him and Cesar were hella similar
This was one of the two glimpses that this season really had of being an amazing ending. This is probably one of the realest topics that were showed on this show
Latrelle got the worst fate out of all the antagonist in this show and didnt even deserve it. He was thrown into the life ever since he was born, forced to be a menace and harm people because thats all he ever knew. I wish he didnt grown up with the prophets, they ruined his entire life.
I know I'm supposed to feel sorry for Latrelle but I DON'T because he bullied those kids in their own neighborhood on his own. He shot Ruby and put him in the hospital on his own. He killed Olivia with his own gun on his own. Nah! I hope he rots in that cell forever. P.S: Chill out people I'm not talking about the actor I'm talking about his character.
Dude deleted my comment because I said the same thing 😂. I agree he should face the consequences of his actions but that’s controversial to say apparently
Love this show, and love this scene. But I just realized, both Latrelle & Oscar don’t have their tear drop tats in season 4. Matter of fact, Oscar is also missing his cross tat on his neck. Did they just miss putting these tats back on this season? Lol
After aaall that he doesnt even aplogize to ruby, love how slow people are in the comments talking about how bad they feel for the guy who killed and traumatized people and didnt even apologize for it😂
I don't care if he chose this life or not. He deserves prison. He made a choice. He could've chosen NOT to pull the trigger. He had a daughter and he didn't even think about her when he shot Ruby and Olivia. He didn't think. That's the problem with gangsters. They don't think, they do and innocent people pay the price. So this is the price he paid
