What do you get when you mix a tank and generator from a 413 stove with a Handy Gas Plant? Well, you get a 35,000 BTU beast that you can easily transport. Best of both worlds? Worst of each? Watch and find out!
Gotta give proper credit to where it's due!! Gavercronos on CCF came up with this crazy idea and I just ran with it. Now I just have to come up with a bit more durable (no wood! Hah!) mounting method.

Thank you for showing us the mutant! - I was always fascinated by the gas plants and even the hollow wire lighting systems, but alas they're almost unobtanium around here. I love seeing parts of your collection, and I hope you continue making content on these neat old fuel burners.

You are welcome! It's so well behaved now after running it a while; it's really a joy to use. Glad you're enjoying the vids, there's lots more to share!

Nice little setup! I mounted a 457 burner in a 413 case. Just the burner itself, no grate or heat shield, of course. It stays out by my gas grill. Beastly cooking power. I've been talking about cutting a section out of the case for a smaller footprint, but like a lot of projects, I haven't gotten round to that one.

Hmmmmm! That sounds interesting. I think I may have a spare 413 lying about...time for another project!

I piddle around with these HGP's and have been studying a means to adapt a 20 ld LP tank to feed a 457 burner. Would a solid brass needle valve work in place of the main fuel cutoff valve on these devices ? I was thinking of running the needle valve in series with the generator to meter the fuel flow. Any thoughts on this matter ?

You can use a propane converter from a stove with a 1lb bottle like this: i.imgur.com/Mx8RB13.jpg and then you can attach a bulk hose to that. It ran pretty solid on the 1lb bottle. Not sure how the gas tip from the 457 would work in there, might be way too big?

Gas, do you still have the tank fuel valve off the old tank ?

No, because this was just a spare head I had from swapping out the 457 for the 460 head.
