I recall in junior high Catholic school circa late 80s, us boys were not cool with the singing and hand movements of the glory and praise songs at the student masses. Over time, I found Lent as my favorite liturgical season, as I appreciated the solemnity it brought to the mass. I only continued to attend mass into adulthood because I loved God, and just tolerated the increasing levels of cringe in the Norvus Ordo.
So glad my Priest is a Bear and Elk hunter while placing emphasis on various men's groups in our church. Despite this, women do most of the work around the Parish.
But those are not rightly ordered patriarchies. The point of destroying monogomy isn't polygamy, it's to corrupt the image of God the Father that Catholic lay patriarchy reflects. The Islamic and other non-christian "patriarchies" do not reflect the Father, so diabolic motivation doesn't hate them.
bridal Mysticism....Will needs to lead a Deep dive into that...Mind blowing. I did a brief Google on It and Mystics like St. Teresa of Ávila are mentioned....shocking.
Bernard of Clairveux is one of the Catholics church best own goals of all time. Bridal mysticism is just yuck. Makes Fundamentalists like me want to ruuuuun away from Rome.
Something tells me the solution isn’t for women to stop praying and “look sexier”. But glad you’re addressing feminism and weak men in Catholic marriages. It’s made a lot worse by placing Mary as equal to (co redeeming) or more than Jesus. Read the gospels (more blessed than my mother are people that follow Me) and actually use God’s words to justify a “queen of heaven” (Jeremiah 7)
