Vintage busses going for cheap right now too, even though most vehicles are up incl. RVs. Even harder to find someone to work on them, though, takes a special breed, so it's still a buyer's market.
Why the sleeper berths on the gravel trucks? Just curious...not something we see very often down here in NY. most of our tri-axles are day cabs and they run local loads.
No idea. He proposed to Amber and they were expecting so maybe life has just taken over. I didn't realise until I started checking the upload dates on his videos, he was uploading just about every day and you just can't keep that up when you've got a newborn and a wedding to plan. I guess he'll be back some day.
My dad used to work for K&C probably about 12 years ago and I remember sitting in those beds trucks as a kid.kind of sad to see them end up at a Richie brother’s auction all these years later.
i had my fingers crossed on that old kenny at the end that you bought it cause you didn’t put the price up on the screen lol but 3 is enough i think lol
I too love the auctions just because you never know what your going to find, sometimes there are those little surprises you never expect and of course going to the auction is like going to Costco were you went in with the mind that here is my budget today for this trip and walk out wondering how you spent twice that....lol Like that Fargo truck that is old school and quite the job on the interior, you know who ever had it loved that truck to do that cause they wanted to keep it looking sharp and you can bet they spent a few bucks doing it but you dont see many of those running around I am sure that is out of someones farm. Those 6 wheel drives with the bog tires man I was on a lease site and there was one section of land in it that had a serious dip in it like deep steep ditch style and everything was like mud snow swamp I mean they were using a dozer to help pull trucks and semi out of the lease, well this guy got in the 6 wheel and fired her up and headed straight for the deep fitch style area donw hill and it was boggy as hell there and we all are standing there watching thinking he is going to get stuck, the guy goes down there puts that thing in 5 wheel does a 180 and comes cruising right out of there like it was a walk in the park and blows right by us and hits the lease road out, wasnt any of us standing there that wasnt impressed as hell by that even more so at the big old smile he flashed passing by us I had to LOL at the paint on that one gravel hauler , someone definitely did the slap a coat of paint on it before it goes to auction so it looks better for the sale job...that dirt trapped under the paint... that's just poor mans rock guard. The old KW that someone rock guarded to death hooo I would hate to see what it is like under that rock guard, kind of a shame really someone could have done a better job and made that sweet and brought in a way better dollar, but obviously someone didn't want to go that far and well rock guard is cheap.... crying shame though oh man that old ford truck... nice ride, someone took pride in that I almost fell out of my chair when I saw what it went for, yowza but got tolve it, they were solid as a damn rock and those old trucks went forever, they were built like tanks, bump someone at the light doing 20kmh you would be lucky if you scratched the bumper... do that todays and you have a 10k repair bill Now that you let the cat engine out of the bag you can bet the Twinsticks community will be "On The Hunt" to help see what they can do to find some of those cat engines... they are a pretty resourceful bunch. Enjoyed the episode, look forward to the next update!
7:55... So... You only get the hydraulic pressure, when the truck is moving.?🤔?. This seems ODD.!😲🤔!. Are you SURE it's a hydraulic pump.? LOVE THE VIDEOS🥰. KEEP 'em COMING🥰🥰. RICH (UK) 🥰🥰🥰.
6:05mins... Why do 'they' not put the rear drive shaft into the frame somehow.?🤔?. It strikes me that, it's gonna be the first thing to be hit, when going 'off road' which the truck is designed for.! At least put it in a guard of some description. And... I'm surprised that it's only 6WD.! I thought it would be 8WD.! LOVE THE VIDEOS🥰. KEEP 'em COMING🥰🥰. RICH (UK) 🥰🥰🥰.
It don’t take but a couple of bolts being tweaked and a larger fuel line and you have a 550hp B block, do a little extra and you’re near 600hp, it’s crazy what little bit of work is required to gain hp on them
Usually the aluminum gravel boxes on the truck are very dirty and tarnished, but the cool kids get them polished to a mirror finish like the one I walked by
That C500 with the 13 and a 4 in her you probably don't split too much with the auxillary. More for a selection of ranges and just run the 13. A lot of over lap gears I would imagine.
Back in the day, Dodge/Chrysler/Plymouth had some absolutely incredible ideas, marvels of engineering, but their quality control was and still is spotty.
Great video Mark!! Just love that old Fargo, but I agree with you big dreams and empty pockets. I would love to find an old Bighorn Dodge but they are few and far between now and very pricey, but I will keep looking. That blue Pete you looked at was an awesome looking unit too. Keep on the hunt see you in the next one.
The oldest trucks fired right up.. the newer ones sitting with dead electronics.. and the Bruce Wilson joke was hilarious..I had forgotten all about that guy..
Wow , that Fargo was classic, my happy place too ! Unfortunately not a lot of the big iron auctions here out east . The oil patch sure generates a diverse amount of ,machinery. The duel axle with the Detroit was awesome too .Thank you Mark , another great video .👍
Having to take both hands off the steering wheel to shift that looks so dangerous and it is dangerous especially if you don't keep up with your maintenance of your truck
@@TwinStix maybe we could convince the border that old blue is essential....lol i almost forget sometimes the border is still closed as i still cross in the truck.
Porter greetings! 🇺🇸 The Ford pickup sounded pretty nice. Didn’t expect that. Was that a 351 engine you think? The Dodge…oh how sweet that was! You didn’t know that the fenders swung out? That’s one great feature on those old trucks! That was one nice old truck. The first double steer KW looked like it had a binder under the transmission…is that normal?! Weird! Those long haulers are rather sweet looking and have a special purpose. I love the cabover KWs. The one with extra windows was an unusual sight. It was still a sleeper unit. I didn’t expect that. Did you buy a new toy then????!
Sad what the environazis have done to our vast Resources the Lord has blessed US/CAN with. I'm in an automatic Cascadia Day cab 200"WB Semi dump truck. I can drive anything. This I'm in now is a company truck. I can't complain about the fuel mileage. Avg 6 all day long, city and 2 lanes. It's fairly light m/t weight. Mid 32's with a 52 ft 6 axle bridge . 40' Tri axle Chassis. At 79,500 lbs she rides like a Cadillac.
Ship it over to B and B wrecker and have them build a custom Rotater wrecker bed on that 6 wheel drive C.O.E.That thing would support a 100 ton boom, Deck winch, front winch and 2 main and 2 auxiliary winches. Would be a recovery beast. Four outriggers Ana front hyd legs. When I win that lottery who’s in?
Oh and I just got a tablet....never seen my favorite you tube channel on anything bigger than a cell phone..bigger is better...😁.(that's what she said moment).couldn't get any better then this...
275,000 for that 6x8?? you couldn't buy a kenworth C500 for that, and the C500 is just a mini version of that but its not 6x8, its just a twin steer, you can get 6x6 but not 6x8 only 2x8, and there usually 300,000$ - 400,000$ there absolutely out of there minds
Fun fact about Mack trucks Mark, if you didn't already know, if the dog is gold, it's a pedigree meaning it's Mack powered, if it's silver it has some other engine manufacture in it. 😁
Well you almost got it right. If it is gold it has an all Mack driveline. Mack engine, trans, and rearends. If anyone is not Mack it has the silver dog. We have several CH613's and only one has the gold dog and it has the Mack 13 speed the rest have Fuller 10 speeds and they got the silver dogs.
Hey mark, thanks for a great video on the 27th of may. I live in small city in Pennsylvania and we dont have any of those richie's bros auctions.. so it great when you show all that GREAT OLD IRON.. just love those old and semi old trucks...you made my Thursday great..2 big thumbs up.. love the channel and all the videos..keep up the great work.. cant wait to see snowman done... thanks again mark,, KRIPES FROM PA....if you have any old peterbilt emblems or stickers would love to buy them...let me know. Thanks again....TWINSTICKS RULE
Some (ok a lot of) beautiful beautiful trucks there, the fleet of grey gravel trucks looks like someone may have gone out of business. It’s a win for the buyer but I feel sorry for the people who have lost them to financial or economic problems.
Seriously decent wagons at the auction yard, steer clear of any wagons with headlights off a Nissan Economy Car, or something your two year old pedals in the back garden(yard). Love to buy one of those long bonnet twin steer Kenny oil field wagons with the big winch, fit an extra drive axle at the back , a nice beefy spiral bevel Rockwell SQ Series same as the drive bogie (tandem) axles , triple drive twin steer , perfect for Nailsworths crappy roads. What do you think, of C Block Kitty Cats?, are they reliable bomb proof and able to meow out seven hundred ponies without blowing out the bottom end.
Cool automatic thing here, We got a guy out close to where i am with a brand spankin new 389, DEF Delete, has a Manual Valve Body on an Auto with a 3 speed aux coming off a 12 speed paccar. So it can't shift itself no matter the condition and you got this big ol stick, you just throw back and forth with a 3 speed aux airbox shifter beside you on the floor, i thought it was the coolest damn thing.
Could you please ship that beautiful old Fargo down to Australia for a homesick Canuck ??? First truck I drove out of high school was a 10 yard GMC dump truck with a 5 over 4 . 366 four barrel motor.
You have nothing to worry about with painting your trucks yourself. If you take all of the proper steps with preparation and read the labels and instructions on all of the pain supplies you will not have a problem. I painted my first vehicle when I was 16 years old, I never had money to pay people to do work so when I wanted something done I had to to do it. The first vehicle I painted ended up being a cover truck in mini trucking magazine. Just follow instructions with products and read and learn whatever you can and talk to people and you can have a beautiful paint job for under a $1000.
Stumbled on this channel only my second vid but I fell in love with these beautiful machines I have always loved big rigs and I think it's so cool how this channel hits the spot interms of the cool content craving I have absolute pure Bliss I can see how excited Mark gets I feel the exact same my only regret is not being there in real life lol love it ...... .. ............ .. .
Good morning Sir SALUTE 🇺🇸🇨🇦...I just couldn't go on with out acknowledging that cherry ford....man there's nothing I love more then Pete's and KW'S other then the ole Ford's..boy what a definite treat👍🤘thank you true...now back to twinsticks garage
Hi there Mark: I was watching when you on mon when you were at the auction and you were sitting in a Hays tractor and I noticed that K100 you were looking at a while back. The silver black green stripes do you remember that one ..?.
@@TwinStix how you don't already have 100K is crazy, everyone needs to get out and spread the Twinstick word. we can pass 100K if everybody would tell their friends :)
I have allways had a passion for long bonnets/ but they are just no practical over here in rurope or the uk due to lenght limits (overall lengths from front axel on the tractor to the rear of the (I love the blue pete thats what makes most trucks over here cab overstrailer
hi i am an aussie long distancs driver and do not understand why you wont to drive such outdated gear by rhe way i am 62 and have been driving my entire life and have driven many twin sticks
One legend says that the truckers in the 1920s, driving slow trucks on then-dark streets, were often the victims of thieves as they moved loads of chickens through small towns. To help stop this problem, truckers started putting lanterns around their cargo - thus the name, Chicken Lights.
