Impressive! A table full of good things. You had much work. Successful results with all the models and figures you showed, Dom. Great sets of vehicles with a good paintwork and weathering. Cool parts for the table. Greetings, Joachim
Interesting what you had to say about your Men Who Would be Kings game. We have had exactly the same issues. The games look great, but it seems that some scenarios just don't work - leading to that feeling of what's the point, if I've got no chance of winning? Our game this week had Zulus attacking a smaller Brit force in the middle of table. Zulus had initiative, and managed to get all bar one of their units into contact in the first turn, before the Brits could get a shot off. Result: a 30 minute game in which the Brits got decimanted in turn 1 and 2. The scenario in the book, would have given them a win if they had survived at half strength or more until turn 10!!
4:30 The Germans called those things a "Maultier". It means something like "beast of burden". They were a truck (from various manufacturers Magirus, Opel, Ford - most were Fords) fitted with a field modification kit that replaced the back wheels with tracks. Very slow but unmatched in cross-country performance (never used all that much as personnel carriers, though).
