Sour Shoes should be making millions as one of the greatest voice actors in the country. It's sad when mental illness prevents someone from success... then again, as long as he is happy, that is all that is important. I mean, no exaggeration whatsoever, he is one of the most talented impressionists out there today. He could have a career like Billy West (who is worth multi-millions with all his VO work), but is instead doomed to his parents basement calling in to radio shows.
Lopan You're absolutely right. I can't think of anyone even close to as talented as he is. Even if he couldn't nail all the impressions he's a very gifted musician. I hope Stern can figure out how to help him. The rest of the world needs to know about Sour.
Bill Cutting yea he's on the spectrum so either autism or aspergers.. seriously if you ask him to learn any voice hes able to do it with a little practice, its incredible.. but they say that people on the spectrum are incredible at imitating and memorizing.. i worked with an autistic child who knew every word to the pistol pete marivich movie and would act out the entire thing when he played basketball.. it was amazing
I wish the Stern Show was this funny anymore. They've turned into just a serious interview show and playing youtube clips anymore. I haven't laughed this hard in ages. And I love watching someone else crack up and laugh just as hard. Great stuff!
Sour Shoes is my favorite! I listen to this & Don in New Mexico all the time. He should be hugely famous doing voices & such in a controlled environment.
Yeah I heard that the other day too, he just has always been taking calls from Hanzi, Bobo, and Marianne for like the past year and Howard always seems to say "Alright I've had enough of Sour Shoes" whenever he called in the past, so I just assumed.
I don't get how he doesn't have a job. I get that he's out of his mind but I feel like we would at least be hearing about big cartoons attempting to bring him in for voiceover work. Stern makes it seem like no one has even attempted to hire him. If I had any artistic ability he would be my first call to cut some character voices. This guy is a goldmine just sitting there waiting to be tapped.
