NOOOO NOOOO, Im not going back to the 60,s, NOOOO I want my Haltech, Holley EFI upgrades, And way more Vrooms Vrooms! Them points and clackity clack Carbonationers gotta goes (Joking, LOLz) Love seeing the old stuff kept alive and as new as possible with some Real TLC and luvs. Great job. Im still not giving up my EFI retrofit, starts on cold days runs STRONG Rawr, and I cant over rev it! that is unless I jam it in 1st gear from 4th going 70mph. Other then that , I 100% approve. ( I have an issue with over reving, placing windows in places they dont belong.
I think the confusion for the breather comes from the fact that on HIF carbs, the exact same place is the overflow. Here it is an HS carb with the bowl next to it, so I don't know where it is, but on my HIF44 this is the overflow. Don't know what it does on the HS4, maybe vacuum for spark advance ?
The cut out for the first one is not related from the piston used in the carb? Had the same thing on a hs4 and placed a 2085 piston and solved the problem.
Do you ever come up north? I'm near Preston and it would awesome if you could set my Mini up. Its been 7 years in the making and is now finally finished and run in. It's a modded 998 on a HIF38 with one of your dizzy's fitted.
Yes I travel pretty much most places, however overnight stays all need to be paid for so it’s best to arrange a tuning weekend where many cars can be done , thus sharing the cost.
Curious, do you test drive the cars yourself before and after tuning, or do you just adjust everything to your spec and trust that after years of experience you know how it will perform once you have it dialed in?
Test drives are performed after every session, but not by me, the owner or the garage mechanic I am working for. I used to test drive, but found it unnecessary and stopped about 15 years ago.
Interesting how you're leaving the dizzy tight and letting the hammer/screwdriver receive the shock instead of your arm. Keeps it from vibrating loose as well... we must ship you over to California to tune us all up sir
