So I bought this system based on this review and a few others. I did a bar last night roughly about 75-100 people. I was not disappointed at all. I was actually amazed at how good this thing sounded. I didn’t think it would be enough so like you I brought spare speakers just in case. But also like you I never needed them. This system is dope man now I have the struggle of keeping my other speakers or selling them to get another Bose it is that damn good.
I’ve used the previous model Bose L1 Model 2 line array for nearly 10 years as a karaoke DJ. I have absolutely loved it the entire time. The only major upgrades I made to it in that time was going from 2 B1 sub modules to 1 B2 sub module when it came out, and then I upgraded the mixer when the new one came out. The array tower and power stand have been just as rock solid as I could have ever hoped for over these 10 years. I had to send in the power stand for the first time just a couple months ago because I left it plugged in a normal outlet with no surge protector and it shorted during a brown out at my home (absolutely not mad, totally my fault). I had the system for 9 1/2 years and never registered it with Bose before I sent it in for repair. Called tech support, explained the situation, and I was anticipating the repair costing several hundred dollars. The rep I spoke to was absolutely amazing! She helped me register my tower in their system and then told me I was only going to have to pay for the shipping to HQ!! The repair was totally comped! I’ll definitely be making the jump up to this new model very soon. You simply cannot beat its combo of compact footprint, ease of set up and use, ease of ownership and lack of repairs needed, and sound quality.
I was the first DJ to use the very first Bose line array system in the UK, this was around 15 years ago. It was phenomenal even back then, got me so many repeat gigs.
Finally Someone with a no bullshit opinion of the Bose.. Did you notice He went right to talking about the system and not all the other life events that cloud or bog down a review.. Im not a DJ but a singer song writer. My Bose is on its way. suppose to be here tomorrow. Great job!
Great input. My wife is a Certified Event Planner and Certified Florist (charesefelicianodesign) and I occasionally help with some of the setup and occasionally book the DJ portion. This past weekend she did an outdoor wedding where the couple hired 2 DJs and a band. She also contracted out the sound equipment and they were using the EV EVOLVE 50s throughout the entire facility and I was impressed by the sound. I have a couple of Bose products and have always been impressed with their technology and how they always push the boundaries to provide an excellent sound.
Thanks for the review. I recommend hard cases for the tower pieces and the stand. This is from my experience working gigs with the OG Bose L1 I bought in 2007. It’s been a work horse, but the bags offer poor protection and the grind of transporting them adds a lot of wear to the pieces. The cases are expensive, unfortunately. But I believe they are necessary. Good luck!
Excellent and honest review. I am about to buy one of these systems and looking around for reviews. Yours was straightforward and fair. And you picked up a subscriber. Good work.
Great videos as usual. Would love to see an updated video on these almost year later. I have the 1 unit set up w/ bass 2 that I use for live acoustic performances and thinking of purchasing a second for another DJ setup.
I bought the pro L2 and omg… the sound is incredible I have a big system also but after using the Bose L2 I haven’t used my big system in months… I do a lot of duo and trio stuff and people ask me where is you PA and lol I say it’s right there… people have leaned on it thinking it’s a pole… I stop them of course lol but it’s a great system I’m thinking of get a second one to have the stereo sound
Damn. I'm still using a 10 year old L1 Compact. I can't imagine what this new system sounds like. Yet I can still walk into a coffee house, pub or patio with everything I need in two hands, including my guitar. These systems are awesome and Bose makes enough different models, everyone could use one.
I have a line array system from a different company but the concept is the same. When I take one system out it is enough but barely. It's certainly possible to do a small wedding with just one. By having two I am able to do more types of events that need more volume. I also sometimes add a sub and the system really kicks. I would say that for hip hop and the like, the sub really steps things up.
There's way too much hate on here. I thought your review was thorough and sincere. The only question I still have after using the pro 8 for a year at bars is if the 16 or 32 are any more stable. I'm wondering if 2x s1 Pro w/2x Sub2 will be better for rowdy, crowded gigs. Unfortunately that would be more directional & i really love the 180° coverage.
My thumb was waiting on the dislike button for your opinion on the Sub2. Thanks that you admitted the Sub2 inadequacies, and almost immediately defended it legitimately and honestly. It NEEDS 2 subs, full-stop.
Great review Terry 3.500euro here, these are far too delicate for a roudy Irish Wedding, gimme a sturdy steel pole strapped to a heavy duty going nowhere bass unit where the drunk guest ends up damaged not the speaker 😅 Bose are more for calm shows, acoustics/corporate/. beach bar chill DJ
Thank you Mr. Terry for another helpful video… Would you say that one is good enough for (most) weddings? Or would you recommend using 2 subs and 2 arrays?
Great review! Sounds like it's much improved from the older L1 series. I wish all subwoofers had multiple grab points. 2:52 The JBL bag or the Bose bag?
I hear what you’re saying Terry, you don’t want to over blast the sound with your people but you need a system that fills the room and this is the one I recommend Blastking KXDIITP Active Speaker Tower System
Bought a pair with sub 2 units today after doing a shootout between the Evolve 50s and the 32 at a djs house. Evolves are no joke, the Bose just levels up.....as they should for the price lol
Hi Terry! I enjoy following your videos. If possible, I wanted to see how you rate your satisfaction of the Bose L1 Pro 32, with the Sub2 sub a year later. I purchased two of these systems and they have been nothing short of incredible. I always carry a couple of Mackie’s for backup but since my purchase they’re primarily collecting dust. If I may also ask sir, are you familiar with any road cases for the Sub2 cabinets. Thank you again for your wonderful videos. Blessings,
thank you so much!! I was thinking about these..specifically the Pro32. HOWEVER, didn’t have the budge room for 2. Knowing that one will do the job for the weddings I’m currently doing (50-150 guests)..is comforting. I am going to pull the trigger and buy one...for now. Then a 2nd next spring.
Hi and thanks for the video. If I have a Numark Mixtrack Pro FX Platinum where I can also plug in a microphone, do I really need a ToneMatch?? The control of the Numark turntable with the adjustments on the speaker itself should be enough, right?? I don't understand that part for the Bose L1 PRo32. Conclusion: Is that possible that I buy the speakers and just plug my regular DJ stuff without buying anything else ? thanks
Hello and thank you for the videos you make. Recently I saw a video that you posted of you Djing in a gym, I received an inquiry regarding the same and was wondering if you have a minimum charge and for how many hours minimum? My client was looking for one hour or two hours as it is a spin cycle class. your thoughts on this is greatly appreciate it
Great Review. Although I'm not a fan of "Bose" or "DJ Speakers" I can see how someone can appreciate these for really small/quick gigs. The load in/out would be awesome 😁.
Hi Cleveland, how would you connect one L1 PRO 32 system to an A&H Xone 92 mixer? Given that the mixer has Left and Right and the L1 only has one TRS connection ?
Only using one how did you hook up your controller? Do you hook up left and right or just one channel? Do you hook up inputs to Sub or to the line array base?
Gigging musician - myself and one other acoustic player and musician. Looking to upgrade from a JBL Eon One Pro - I like the JBL for the 4 inputs for our guitars and mics. I do have a Xenyx X1204 mixer I can fall back on if the L1 doesn’t have that many inputs. Anyone on here using it for gigs as opposed to dj’ing? We do a wedding or two a year but mainly indoor/outdoor live music gigs
@@miggs.countrymusic went with the Bose L1 Pro32 with sub2 and will never buy anything but Bose ever again. This thing pounds with gigging and DJ’ing. We went with the Bose mixer as well the T8S with tonematch- makes it so easy for setting up a gig
@@justinvanderschaaff5545 Great stuff! thanks a lot for your response. I'm picking mine up today. I've got an outside solo gig tomorrow evening, so I am excited to try it out. Are you only using one Pro32 or 2 for a stereo sound? Or have you thought about getting a second?
@@DJJunior192 If via TRS to the combo jack, do not send a stereo signal to any one input of the powerstand. Sum your L/R sources into mono signal for 1 L1pro32 (via software or hardware switch), unless you have 2 L1Pro32's for L/R.
@@todds5956 yeah but it’s got a a crown amp drive rack processing. It’s the beez neez I bet I was thinking shooting up to expo next week to check it out
Bose bass just doesn't carry that's why everyone talks about how crisp it is because what else is left when you are missing bass. MIds and highs do sound great but in my opinion, the bass lacks. I don't understand why they don't use high tweeters at the top and mid-twitters towards the bottom to give you a better range it drives me crazy.
F1 system it's a better choice for the actual price. Don't joke with me, this system is a good system but F1 have more potencial. Love the F1 and then F2 when It come out. L 8 16 32 systems are not systems that I identify with. I like tops with at least a 12 inch speaker to give that real fat sound. L-systems are good systems but for those who want to save space in transport although the F1 don't take up much space. Towers with mini loudspeakers as tops don't convince me at all. For now the 4 f1 systems I have are my boys, when their replacements come out then I'll change it assuming there will be improvements, otherwise I'll be fine as I am.
@@ClevelandTerry When music is playing, I hear it. And is hard to separate when listening to video's such as this or some types of training. It's a production style I am not a real fan of. Good info though and if I could afford 2 of these, I would.
@@JohnSmith-kn5wt LoL me too... you don't have ADHD do you?! 😜 I had to turn off a video last week because I could hear the lady's earrings jingling and it drove me nuts 😆
YOU CAN NOT TALK ABOUT HOW GOOD SOMETHING SOUNDED. YOU MUST HEAR IT‼️ 🤌🏽 🤦🏻♂️ SEEING THE HARDWARE IS 1 THING. HEAR WHAT YOUR GEAR SOUNDED ON IS ANOTHER. WORDS DON’T MATTER. SOUND DOES. I HEARD WORDS NO LIVE INSTRUMENTS THROUGH THE BOSE.
News flash...you can’t HEAR the sound of the Bose through the video anyway. You’re right it has to be heard...which is why my WORDS are describing it. Jeez.
It's a speaker review...you know you can't actually hear them accurately through a computer right? If you want to hear them, go to guitar center....this is a review
