Steve Hartman should get the Nobel Peace Prize. He brings so much of value to this country. Even the tone of his voice is so beautiful, pleasant, caring and warm. It’s like a hug.

How brave! She just put her vulnerability out there and asked for help.

She is absolutely right. There are so many who have no one at all and it would be nice to be able to be part of a "family" even if it were strangers that were together because they wanted to be kind and make someone feel wanted.

That is so touching. Sometimes you forget that Christmas is extremely painful for many.

A simple but brilliant, and powerful idea.

On Galveston Island last Christmas, people on the Galveston Talk facebook page were extending open doors and meals to anyone reading that had no family, friends, money..... many families said simply "Welcome to anyone wanting to share our home and meal." I was so touched by that.

Wow. A true testament to the human need for companionship, connection, and the desire to be needed by someone....

I can surely relate I was raised in an orphanage and yeah we were abused I ran away twice the price of that unbelievable and I live there until I aged out and the rest is history I'm still taking my journey in life.

No child should have to go through this feeling of nobody wants them. Thank you Jackie for telling your story and putting yourself out there!!! You are loved!!

This is beautiful. I wish i had the strength to do the same. Holidays and family stuff can really hurt when you have no one. I grew up in a home and school for children. Not complaining because it was the closest thing to a home i ever had. Even now as a 33 year old it hurts not having a family. Unfortunately I'm not brave like this girl, having any kind of love scares me, but seeing something like this gives me hope that one day I'll belong. Thank you.

What a great job Steve Hartman has!

XMy Church has a Bible college with 400+ students from the states and a few foreign countries. Each year, when it’s time for a new class to come, church members sign up as “adopting parents”. The students come over for meals, to do laundry, sit with “their parents” in church, etc. What should last one year, the students end up hanging around their adopters the full 3-4 years. And the adopters? Well, they just continue adopting new freshmen. Bonds are established, weddings are attended, and grand children are brought to visit their “adopted grandparents” when visiting the college for reunions and special events. It’s a wonderful program. 🥰

Aw..... I want so much to adopt her.

For someone to pull themselves out of a dark place and to do the same for others is the highest merit.
