“This being a live broadcast it’s entirely possible…a bear could walk through the screen at any time. So if we have to exit or end the broadcast abruptly that’s probably why.” Ranger Andrew LaValle

If you go on a bear viewing tour, sows with cubs seem to seek out people. It's believed they do this because it helps keep boars away. It seems it's happening here especially after 132 and cub were attacked before

I loved how the bears had some synchronized movement in the beginning. It sure seems as though they were already hunkered down and had been there a while. So cute!

In the Grand Tetons, they are known as Roadside bears, bringing cubs down near people to protect them from boars.

I think I would love to live in a cabin there, but the rangers have a really difficult job, I would have a hard time leaving a situation that I could help, they do a awesome job!!!!!!!!!!

With the cabin being up off the ground partially , would the bears make a den under it ? If they do does the park keep a very close eye on this area ? 👍👍

The Lodge is closed after September, and so no one would really be around. I don’t think any bear has denned up in camp.
@mikefitz6837
@mikefitz6837 Год назад
Although that could happen, bears in Katmai usually don't make dens at the relatively low elevation where Brooks Lodge is located (~50 feet above sea level). Instead, they dig dens on steep, well vegetated slopes that collect and hold a lot of snow. A study in the 1970s found the average den elevation was about 1300 feet above sea level in Katmai.

I didn’t realize one of 132's was killed this past July. I saw the male fighting with the female & the cubs scattering into the brush but someone indicated the cubs had climbed a tree & escaped.

These bears look more like Grizzly bears? its been said many times by other pros that Grizzly bears are Grizzly bears . Black bears can be Brown bears and really mess up the shoulder mucle Hump and thick head and teddy bear ears with Grizzled Hair much sharper long claws.
@ExploreLiveNatureCams
@ExploreLiveNatureCams Год назад
Grizzly bears and brown bears are common names for the same species. The differences people draw are mostly location and diet. But they are the same species.
