Years ago I heard a messianic rabbi on a radio program. He explained from a Jewish perspective how everything in the scripture aligns with Thursday as the crucifixion day. My church and most believers I know hold to the Friday belief but that’s okay with me. The fact that he was crucified and rose again to cleanse us from our sins is the most important thing, so I never let it bother me when other believers have a different viewpoint on the exact day. But this was very informative and I actually had never heard the Wednesday view and never even knew it existed before this! Thanks!

Jesus raised Lazarus on the fourth day. Jesus prophesied (his only sign to man) he would be three days and three nights in the Earth. Believing Friday discredits the resurrection, the gospels, Christ, and makes it all nothing but a nice story. Thank God for the internet that allows us to research the truth hidden from us for almost 1700 years.

@@SoyebAkhtar151 He was affirming that all righteousness is in God the Father, and that the Son was obedient to the Father, and we should do the Father's will in all things. We must remember he was not announcing even to his disciples he was deity. The man said he was "good." If Jesus told the man he was also good or he was God not Messiah there would be no lesson. Because the man wouldn't believe him. You study the Bible, you don't just read verses, context is important. Seek the truth and come follow Jesus my friend.

It seems to me that most views are held because we cannot prove otherwise BUT it does not mean that they are correct. I personally think it is more of magic to accept that the Messiah was crucified on Friday. Let the word of God speak for itself or we will have many Christian religions.

Dear Lord, All day yesterday, I cried in pain over your willing sacrifice, to set us all free. I did not know it was the eve of good friday. The eve of your betrayal. The eve of your unbearable pain. Today I awoke in prayers for you & then realised that it's Good Friday. There is nothing Good about today Lord. On this day, the heathens tortured you. I am in pain, my Lord, as if you were my beloved son. I cry real tears over your pain. Why oh why, as you were sacrificed, then, for us Lord to wash away our sin. The heathens sacrifice the perfect red Heiffers. Ingnoring your life. Ignoring your sacrifice. Ignoring your very essence! I am with you, Lord. Hear my prayers, let all others sing your praise. Today is in honour for the son of God. Your sacrifice, gave us life evermore. I worship the very ground you walked upon. Today and every day! Amen 🙏 Amen 🙏 Amen 🙏🕊🕊🕊

Christ was crucified on Wednesday. And yes, it DOES matter because Dan. 9:27 says the Messiah was prophesied to die on a Wednesday. Show me a professing Christian who worships a Jesus who died on any other day, and i'll show you somebody who is worshiping "another Jesus". It's a testament to how much "Christians" insist on calling God a liar. He gave us the specific day that Christ was to die on, and "Christians" STILL don't believe Him!

What do you mean it ‘seems logical to you, and does it really matter’? Of course it matters. You’re denying Christ. The bible proves Jesus was crucified on Wednesday the 25th of April AD31. He resurrected on Saturday the 28th of April at Sunset.

Unless you are talking about fiction, when Jesus was crucified does not matter. It can happen anyday. But if the you consider Jesus crucifixion as historical, then the exact date matters. The fact that the anonymous authors of the gospels do not agree when Jesus was crucified only means that Jesus was not crucified. All the stories about Jesus crucifixion as well as his resurrection were all made up. Jesus never existed in history. Jesus story was a historical fiction!

Thank you for a good video covering the answers to the question of when Jesus was crucified. If one looks at the Quartodeciman controversy, you learn that the eastern churches under the apostle John followed the Jewish Passover and celebrated the Resurrection accordingly. Rome fixed the date on a Friday. At the beginning, the churches celebrated the Resurrection Date on different days, but there was unity with all churches. In time, the Roman Church persecuted the "14ers(hence the Latin term Quartodeciman) and forced the 14ers to capitulate. It is no wonder that there are so many denominations as well as orders of priests (in the RC Church).

The flaws are in the clock. Nights are sunset to sunrise. Days are sunrise to sunset. Sunday at sunrise the women to the tomb and it was already open and no body inside. Count backwrds 3 days 3 nights. Placed in the tomb before sunset wednesday, 3 days 3 nights later equals sunset saturday, gone before sunrise. The whole world is decieved just as prophecy says.

That's exactly what I've believed for many years. His trial, crucifixion, and death all took place on Wednesday. He was placed in the tomb at the end of that day which is our 6pm and begins the next Jewish day. I believe in a full 3 days and 3 full nights in the tomb, not partial days or nights. He could have risen from the dead at some point past 6 pm on the weekly Sabbath or our Saturday. Your point about the women who came to the tomb very early Sunday morning and found Jesus already out of the tomb is valid. I would not argue the matter too much but I definitely don't even believe in the possibility of a Friday crucifixion. It simply did not happen.

I agree with the Wednesday crucifixion but with different detail. As you pointed out, all 4 gospels agree that Jesus was crucified and died on Preparation Day (the Crucifixion is the only time the term "Preparation Day" or "day of Preparation" is used. That fact alone is significant. The gospel of John gives the entire detail surrounding the 3 full days and 3 full nights that Jesus was in the tomb. They had to get Jesus off of the cross before sundown because sundown is the start/stop of any Jewish day. The next day was a Special Sabbath of Passover on Nisan 14 which is always immediately followed by another Special Sabbath on Nisan 15 which is the first day of the 7 day Feast of Unleavened Bread. (Leviticus 23: 4 - 7) All 4 gospels also agree when the women went to the tomb which was after the regular weekly Sabbath. Yeah so that also means that the Last Supper was not a Passover observance. All 4 gospels record the last supper as serving regular bread. The Passover observance required that everybody eat unleavened bread. In addition the prophecy that Jesus quoted about "....someone dipping bread with him.... " Psalm 41:9 was also just regular bread. Both Hebrew for the Old Testament and Greek for the New Covenant have separate words for 'bread' and 'unleavened bread'. Brother George

I believe a key to all of the speculation is what is really meant by "the heart of the earth"? Does it necessarily mean entombment or could it refer to the period of Christ's duress, e.g. beginning with his arrest in Gethsemane, which could "count" as the first "night"?

It's because the Jews believed that when someone dies, it takes up to 72 hours before the soul leaves the body. Jesus Christ had to be in the tomb for 72 hours. Luke 24:13 refers NOT to the day of Jesus' resurrection but to the day the women went to the tomb - definitely Sunday. As for this being the third day since these things happened; it is easy to believe that as they were only partly into the 4th day they could be only counting three completed days. Finally: scripture does NOT say Jesus rose on the first day of the week. It says the women went to the tomb on the first day of the week. There is no reason Jesus resurrection could not have taken place any time between just prior to sunset on Sabbath/Saturday and just prior to sunrise on Sunday.

So if we have 3 days (3-12 hour days) and 3 nights (3-12 hour nights) then He died in the 9th hour on a Wednesday, with Thursday being the high day or high sabbath. He rose no earlier than the 9th hour on Saturday. Folded the napkin before sunset. The next sunrise, 1st day of the week, His tomb was discovered empty.

Except Friday crucifixion calls Jesus prophesy a lie, calls the gospels contradictory, and thus makes claims the Bible is a book of fiction more palatable.
@roberttompkins9991
@roberttompkins9991 27 дней назад
If you read Mathew 12:40 In it’s full context, Jesus is basing his entire deity and legitimacy on him being the sign of Jonah, Him being in the grave for 3 days and 3 nights. So if one were to claim the Friday crucifixion day and try to do the “get a full day credit for being in the grave for any part of the day” argument will delegitimize Jesus’s Entire legitimacy according to Jesus himself. I believe in the “what we call” crucifixion on Wednesday position (which is actually Jewish Thursday evening which starts their day) because Jesus needed to already be in the tomb by the Jewish Thursday evening (the evening and the morning were the 1st, 2nd….day if you want to know why that is) I don’t take a big stance against those who hold the Thursday crucifixion theory, because they seem to understand the requirement for full 24 hour days. I thing they just don’t understand fully how Jewish holidays work and a simple miscalculation. But the Friday crucifixion is kinda a big deal! Because Jesus basically states if he’s not in the grave for a full 3 days and 3 nights, he is Illegitimate. Also historically, it can be easily shown where the crucifixion on Friday fallacy originated. Constantine the Great directly interfered with the 1st Roman Catholic council of Niece and said he was going to decide once and for all the schism as to when celebrate the resurrection. Was it according to the Jewish Passover or on the Roman holiday “Easter/Ashtoreth-Ishtar” (they didn’t even bother changing the pagan name of the pagan holiday) He chose the Roman method which always places the holiday on a Sunday, is based on a lunar cycle. And as part of Ashtoreth-Ishtar is a day of drunken revelry that occurred on the Friday before. So, the entire confusion of the alleged Friday crucifixion is caused by the Roman Catholics trying to repurpose their pagan holiday celebration and align it in such a way they could still celebrate “Good Friday”. Like nearly all Roman Catholic false doctrines, errors and sometimes complete heretical abominations (transsubstantiation, replacement theology (the church replaces Israel), and the Eucharist) it all stems from the gentile church not understanding the Old Testament and the intricacies of Judaism and especially the Passover. Starting from slight misunderstanding (which is understandable) and over the hundreds of years evolving into damnable abominations such as the Catholic mass. Now I do celebrate “Easter” because it is the only repurposed pagan/“Christian” holiday that is roughly in the correct time of the year, and as the Apostle Paul states in a number of his epistles especially Galatians, we are not to judge or condemn fellow believers based on keeping or not keeping of holidays and sabbaths and dietary habits and other such practices. It’s okay to celebrate Easter or Christmas if done with a sincere attitude. However, like I mentioned above, the Good Friday error is a special kind of wrong. In actuality straight up lie which eventually grew into massive error and led to the outright torture and slaughter of millions of Christians and Jews over the centuries under the orders and hands of the Vatican. Unlike the Wednesday or Thursday position is a simple minor calculation error on the part of whichever camp is ultimately incorrect. Neither of which evolved into so many heresies or led to such atrocities of the Roman Catholic Church

A day is when the sun rises. John in 20:1 he states it was still dark. Mark and Luke say very early in the morning and Matthew say anything about the time. That means Jesus was raised before day light. If he crucified on Friday that means he was dead two day and three nights. I can say good morning to you at 2:00 am but it is still dark.

It just says “sabbath.” And with Mark 16:1 the women didn’t purchase apices in a sabbath. That against the commandment of the sabbath as far as spending money. Palm Sunday: Jesus enters Jerusalem on a colt, visits the temple briefly, and returns to Bethany for the night. Monday: Jesus rises early, curses the fig tree on the way to Jerusalem, and then clears the temple Tuesday: Jesus celebrates Passover with his disciples, institutes the Lord’s Supper and is arrested. Wednesday: Priests won't enter Pilot's compound because of coming passover. Jesus stands “trial” is flogged and executed by crucifixion. His body is taken down from the cross before sunset and he’s buried in a tomb. Thursday: High Sabbath passover Friday: Priests go see Pilot to station guards. Women purchase and prepare spices for anointing. Saturday: Sabbath and resurrection prior to dawn 1st day of week. To not believe Jesus's prophecy is saying he is not perfect. Didn't rain 40 days and 40 nights? Why did he delay to raise Lazarus? Then to say he just slept in and did nothing on the last Wednesday of his life is a little silly IMHO. All of the current Good Friday stuff comes from church tradition to try and justify "Sun"day worship that started in 300ish AD. Throughout Acts and other books it shows early Christians worshipped on Saturday.

Got questions ministries, the gospels tell us what Jesus did from day to day from Palm Sunday to resurrection Sunday and Jesus was still alive on Friday until 3pm. The gospels tell us that there was only one Sabbath day the week that Jesus was crucified, which was the Saturday weekly Sabbath. When a gospel mentions Sabbaths Plural, it was ADDED from the Aramaic, and it's erroneous. Why didn't you study the gospels instead of believing people's lies about a Wednesday or Thursday crucifixion.

Honestly, this is not how to present this (for us) complex matter. For example, you said if jesus is crucified on friday then he ate the meal on early Friday. I think you mean earlier Friday mean in jewsh understanding which would be thursday night in our understanding. Because you didn’t clarify it sounds like jesus was eating meal on friday morning. Anyway you complicated the matter even more rather than explain it clearly. You need charts to list the dates, explain how jews counted the dates etc. Please remake the video slowly with some visual help. This is confusing af 😂

Wednesday. In the ground three days and three nights. Crucifixion on the Wednesday, preparation for the Thursday High Sabbath Passover celebration Nisan 15. Friday the guards are placed at the request of the Jewish leaders and the women go to get spices to prepare the body of Jesus. Then on Saturday the normal weekly sabbath. Then Sunday resurrection. But what is most important is Jesus died, was buried, and rose again according to the scriptures.

What really is the Jewish way of looking at a day? How is it that humans dictate how we measure the day and the Jews are considered strange the way they measure the day? Was the day made by God or man? The bible makes clear the first evening is when the day starts and not the 12 midnight business. Let's stop making the Jews look strange when we are the strange ones!

Christ was not born the date and times this man is trying to get you to believe. Tishri 1 is always the beginning of the Jewish new year, that day was September 12/13, 25bce, or Tishri 1, 3737. His death was April 19, 26ad, and the resurrection was April 9, 26ad and Pentecost June 9, 26ad Penetcost must be 7 weeks after his death on the correct date God said which is Sivan 6, or June 9, 26ad, a Jubilee year, as proof they were walking through the fields eating the head of the grains. Only legal to do during a Jubilee year. Christ was almost 50 years old when he was killed, this is proven in the scriptures by examining the scripture and testing scripture by scripture. His exact age was 49.7years old, this is proven by the value Judas received, as Christ was valued..... If anyone wants the truth of these matters it is in the scripture you just have to STUDY...... let no man tell you there is no proof as all can be found in Christ... Blessings

@InTheGarden1960 28 дней назад
There is too much evidence against a 30 ad and 33ad, it does not follow and align with prophecy. Christ was 49.7 years old at his death and it is proven by the value the priests assigned to Judas for the betrayal. Valuing a Jew had to be according to the law and that Year was a Jubilee so things had to be correct under the law of Jubilee and what is required. birth was in 25bce, death 26ad making him 49.7 years old, not yet 50 as scripture says, they did not lie and Christ did not rebuke them.

No way. There are secular sources that say He was crucified in the 18th Year of Ceasar Tiberius. He became co-regent (which means co-ruler with his father Agustus) in October 12AD. The 18th year is from October 29AD to October 30AD. The Passover Day Nisan 14 (trial of Jesus Christ & crucifixion) was on Wednesday, April 5, 30AD Julian calendar or Wednesday, April 3, 30AD Gregorian calendar that we observe. There's also a genuine document (found by archeologists) signed by Pontius Pilot that was signed 5th day of April, on why he had Jesus Christ crucified. I have many other sources that all point to 30AD crucifixion.
