I made a woodcarving knife that I can carry comfortably. Walnut, brass, and HSS saw blades were used. blog : blog.naver.com/on_wood instagram : / on_wood_on twitter : / ssiganu
I discovered your channel 3 days ago and I LOVE what you're doing, your carving skills, and even in this video you make an awesome carving knife. I plan to try your carving patterns with the few gouges I have, it's so inspiring. And it's even better with this relaxing style of video.
It's a blade used for mechanical reciprocal saws used for cutting metal. The thickness looks like 2 to 2.5 mm. Word of advise if you decide to make one yourself. Be sure to check that he saw is not Bi-Metal, try to find older ones that are made from the same steel throughout and not just the teeth.
The steel used for these saws has Tungsten alloyed in so it stays sharp for a REALLY long time. And it's almost impossible to anneal it accidentally while grinding it.
