Travelling back from Tulum, Riviera Maya, en route to Cancun International Airport. I have to give huge thumbs up to the flight crew of this TUI Airways flight. They flew into Cancun from Gatwick the previous day (Friday) and then went back out from Cancun (Saturday) on my flight. This crew were excellent, friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Its fair to say that a lot of the competitor airlines like to think they give this level of service, however in my experience similar flights failed to match the service on this flight today.
There was an incident right before take off which involved an unruly PAX, however I have left out this incident on the video since the flight was excellent and I would not want to play down the crew's hard work in making it such a pleasant flight. Incident description below:
The pilot informed the cabin that we would be around a ten minute taxi to the departing runway. Within 2 minutes prior to departure the pilot again made a very quick announcement, telling the PAX on the left of the plane that the landing aircraft coming towards us was the one we were waiting for and then we would be on our way very shortly. At this point, just as we were entering the active runway a woman got out of her seat and proceeded to get into the toilets whilst pushing a cabin crew member out of the way. The aircraft was moving from the edge of the taxi way onto the runway, Several announcements were made for the PAX to take her seat immediately along with a very quick announcement that anyone not sitting and strapped into their seat during take off may be injured and to take their seat immediately. The woman came out of the toilets and pushed the crew member again whilst cursing. Within around 30 seconds the plane proceeded to take off. During the climb to cruise phase several members of the senior cabin crew spoke to the PAX about their behaviour.
I did speak with some of the crew about the above incident just before take off and they had advised me that unfortunately its an all too common event, with a similar event happening only 24 hours previous with a PAX trying to use the toilets whilst the aircraft was about to take off.
