The Alice Springs Desert Park is home the rufous hare wallaby, otherwise known as the mala. The mala was once found all over the western half of Australia but now there aren’t any naturally occurring populations on the mainland. Subscribe 🔔 ab.co/ABCAus-subscribe
But that’s where zoos like our Desert Park are stepping in to help breed these special macropods. Emma Haskin crept into the nocturnal house to see what she could learn about these genetically unique and exceptionally cute creatures.
