Seriously Robert Carlyle is awesome. He can play any role. I loved the detective personna, very very different from rumple, which was a smart move on the shows part.
Anyone notice how from 1:00 to 1:21 that Rumple holds his hands as if he was in handcuffs? It’s at the same time that the tables turn from Rumple having the upper hand to Rapunzel having it. So in a way he was prisoner for that moment. Robert Carlyle is a genius with his acting technique
good god, well I guess that can explain why Eloise Gardner was trapped in that area, I guess if Lady Tremaine is also Rapunzel then I guess she decided to give her a taste of her own medicine or something or other
Why am I not surprised that Rumple is not under the spell like everybody else? Of course he's looking out for Number One. And she would be VERY wise to use caution when making a deal with Rumplestiltskin.
Regina did nothing it's just a plot device to make Regina need help and go search for Zelena sinc eshe comes back in episode 10 and they needed a good reason xD
snek themed trainwreck He knows she's Rapunzel. If you look at the second promo carefully you can see that Tremaine is indeed Rapunzel, she's with Cinderella's dad watching Anastasia, Drizella and Cinderella playing together in the snow. Tremaine having darker hair also mirrors the end of Tangled where Rapunzel has brown hair instead of blonde hair.
It's just really too OUT THERE and is still a stupid idea. Rapunzel becoming Cinderella's wicked step-mother just sounds like a dumb fanfiction written by a 13-year-old. They pretty much wasted the potential of Rapunzel (AGAIN) by making her the same character as Lady Tremaine. It makes it worse thinking Rapunzel is such a horrible mother to Drizella just.... WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THIS SEASON? With King Arthur and Peter Pan were made to be villains in the show it made sense in the context of the original source material. Neverland actually didn't stop aging, it only slowed down the process, except for Pan for some reason, so when The Lost Boys got too old Pan would kill them and was pretty much just an asshole and a murderous and despicable BRAT! With King Arthur..... mainly depends on which version of the story you go by because so many versions were written over the centuries that there is no continuity, so its hard to talk about all of them. But to name the most famous one that comes to my mind, he cheated on his wife (Before he knew Gwen was cheating on him with Lancelot) when he raped his half-sister, Morgana (I forget if at that moment he knew she was his sister, not that it matters because it's still adultery and RAPE), whom he was sexually attracted to, which resulted in the pregnancy of the child of incest rape, Mordred, who was destined to kill Arthur and die as well. Arthur's father also raped her mother through Merlin's magic to make himself look like her husband and have sex with her. But the truth was revealed and I know it didn't end well for the mother since back than the woman being raped made her the biggest offender, especially if she gives birth to a child when she's married to another, because victim-blaming was acceptable back then. So Morgana and her sister Morgause lost their mother when they were young and she was raped by that same illegitimate child that took her mother and her rightful crown away from her. Those two characters I could believe became evil in Once Upon A Time's version of them because of how they acted like villains in their stories but still considered to be the protagonist we're supposed to want to win despite being despicable human beings. NOTHING about Rapunzel in the original fairy-tale gave anything that would make her a good idea as a villain or the identity of a famous villain like Lady Tremaine. That is just AWFUL and STUPID writing! Just because people theorized it doesn't mean it should've happened. If professional writers and film/TV show makers did that there would be A LOT of stupid ideas coming to life and most things would be full of total CRAP! I don't care if people predicted it, it's still a stupid idea that I hoped wouldn't come true, which was crushed by the promo for this episode. Just my honest opinion.
