I know that Peter is a villain and is evil But he does genuinely love rumple and wants to start over, he never forgot about him and you could see he immediately regretted letting rumple go but he just never took it back
THIS, a lot of people say that Peter Pan didn't loved Rumple but I don't think that's true at all, I mean his way of loving was twisted and dark but he defiantly did cared for him, I just think that he didn't knew how to be a father and consider himself to be a burden to his son besides he had auto destructive tendencies which I think come from his own self hatred that he hides with a fake ego but I think he still tried. Besides in the flashbacks he is way more caring with rumple than he has ever been with any of the lost boys, like he lets the lost boys die to defend him and he also makes them to play violently with each other but when Rumple was scared to climb a tree, he climb it instead and idk maybe i am reading too much into it but that look of caring and how he hug him before letting the shadow take it besides him crying after rumple leaves with the shadow are like huge proofs to me that he did loved him ✌️

I believe Peter Pan meant when Rumple let Bae's hand go when they were planning to leave to a place without magic. Rumple traded being with Bae for "the Dagger", which represents Rumple's lust for power.

He didn’t love him the way a true father loves his child. But he still had a soft spot for him. He’s being genuine here. He’s just too narcissistic to act on that fondness, which is what makes him a villain.

Rumple didn’t want him to go so peter gave him a doll and he name it peter. He took rumple to neverlanf but in order for his youth he had to trade in rumple. He did. Rumple left behind his doll , peter found it, and named himself after the doll. Peter Pan.
Pan is actually saying that he still has a fondness for Rumple. He willingly chose to name himself after Rumple’s favorite doll to remember Rumple for all those years.
Rumples doll was named Peter Pan, and Malcolm named himself after that doll when he chose to stay in Neverland and needed a new identity to separate him from his "old" life.

There never is anything fair about being hurt by the people you love most. Pan's actions afterwards don't have any bearing on the fact that Rumple also abandon Bae. The fact that Rumple realized his mistake immediately and set about trying to fix it (even if he went about it the wrong way) means he's a good father even though he made a mistake. But Rumple's actions after letting Bae go, doesn't change the fact that he let go in the first place. And forgiveness doesn't have to be about the other person. It's good for the person doing the forgiving as well. If Rumple can't let go of his anger and hurt at his father he won't be able to move forward and be the kind of dad we all know how could be with his and Belles future kids.
While I agree with the first point. I still think it is stretching it when expecting Rumple to forgive Pan.....when as Rumple said "You forgot about me". Also Rumple becoming the Dark one, had good intentions compared to his own father. While forgiving him may help him,it's still not as comparable. Similar yes, pain no.
Yeah, but Rumple was always a far more loving and attentive father to Bae than Malcolm was to Rumple, even before the curse. I feel that Bae always knew that his father loved him, even after he felt betrayed by him for giving him up for power. Besides, Rumple came back for Bae. Malcolm never did. I always got the sense that Malcolm never payed much attention to Rumple, even before giving him up for eternal youth in Neverland. Wasn't he always out gambling away all of his money and getting drunk before that?
no offence to Peter Pan fans but accept this!doesn't matter how much charming or Hot he is as a villain!the fact that he's Rumple's father and their story,makes him the worst person in the world,and not even as a villain!a person!imagine give up on your son so you can have youth to stay alone in a magical island forever?kidnapping other people's children for hobby?forcing them to stay in Neverland and feel like an orphan,the same way his son did when he abandoned him?and all of it for a dream which belongs to children and will disappear when they grow up!if he was a teenager with that kind of wishes,it would be understandable!considering all teenagers for some reasons have potential to become Evil!but as a grown man who wishes for temporally things and abandons his own son(no need to mention what kind of life Rumple had after that!)Pan is literally a shame on his own kind!
If your going to hate on him let’s get this straight 1. He never killed his son true love 2. They both choose power over there own kids 3. He never kidnapped those kids summoned the shadow 4. If zelena kills his son it’s ok but when pan is trying to save his own life he dies 5. Pan was improving in season 5 he was changing for his son 6 he’s selfish but so is everyone else on this show 7 literally everyone abandoned there own kids 8 the reason pan is like this is because the blue fairy 9. You saw at the beginning of season 3 episode 11 the blue fairy got attacked by his shadow blue lied and said that Fiona tried to save her son but really she threw her into a cage making them separated from his true love. 12 Hes not a bad person irl Robbie Kay is a really nice actor his acting is so great he played in pirates of the Caribbean anyways you hating on someone does not solve your answers also accusing him for everything those same happily ever after characters got they did too and also before you say he kidnaps kids watch the 2 last episodes of season 2 your welcome

I think people need to find a balance. I think he was a boy with abandonment issues who fell in love and was happy to have a child, but once that child cost him the love of his life he resented him, and began to pine for the carefree days when he could visit Neverland. For some reason he kept Rumpelstiltskin around, whether he still felt some care for the boy or because he needed him to support him is unsure, but the key thing is he was selfish and willing to give away his son to get what he what as opposed to Rumple who lost his son to get what he wanted but didn't do it deliberately, same as Rumple and Fiona. After that Pan just became a boy again physically and mentally, throwing tantrums if he didn't get what he wanted and playing games for his own amusement, even if they were dangerous. Then yes, he is handsome, charming, but also utterly ruthless and self-obsessed. Though, maybe he genuinely would have enjoyed having Rumple around if he were young again too, admittedly in a nasty way, playing dangerous games together. You can enjoy a villainous character, but unlike what everyone seems to do in "revisionist reinterpretations" etc (or in Isaac's reverse world) you can't just decide they're good because you like them.
