Great video 😊, and you interact with your students just fine, imo ❤ You really just have some who like to conjure up and create problems in order to fit a narrative they've created of you. You have great light and energy. Continue being you
I watched your recent china videos and I was agreeing that you were being a little averse to constructive criticism from the other school, but after reading some of your responses and seeing the differences in the time that you were able to have with your students in Korea I can see your side of things much more. (At no point though should anyone ever feel entitled to put their hands on you, regardless of anything you may have said or not said). I’ve enjoyed your videos and hope you have much more positive experiences ahead!
Great job Nolu! Do you think the problems with teaching in Asia are because you are black or is it a general ESL problem? Of course white teachers get worshipped, but, you know... Anyway, you were a fab, caring, invested teacher. Ignore the morons and ignoramuses who are gaslighting you and enabling abusers. They are cowards without backbones. You are showing them what's what and they are intimidated by your bravery. I have told quite a few of them off on the other video. I don't even know my username... lol... it starts with a "Y". Anyway, I truly and fully get your struggle. I tried teaching in Thailand and absolutely hated it. You need to be more than a clown to teach English in Asian countries. You even end up doing acrobatics just to make them understand present and past tense. Ah! Sha! I couldn't do it. I got the certificate but I refused to teach. It's not a joke! It's quite a calling... and the politics! Omg! Hats off to you! You did welllll!! Hope you''re on the way to fully healing now.
General ESL problems and yes your race and your nationality add to everything. My job in China has clear favouritism, the same people who complained about me taking time off due to an ACCIDENT! Allowed another teacher to take time off to go her sports races 🥲 we had to postpone and entire event at some point because she had to go run 😩
The Chinese are actually more sympathetic, flexible and understanding than Amerikens in my opinion. In America I wouldn't engage in arguments with people because the ending is often not good if the police are called.
I love how tech advance the countries are and earned quite a lot in China but the money is not worth my mental health. Short answer; No, I would consider working for an international company in China though
@@coleslow5519No. I think it's spiritual battles we have to go through or obstacles with people. It happens to me too and trust me I'm not the problem either. They want to see us down..but they won't. It's something about us that triggers them and that makes them abusive. Being a nice person makes you vulnerable to assholes.
@@Nadiesalevivo I totally agree with your last sentence, and that's also a fact, but there's a degree of "Being a nice person". Do you think Karens ever think they are rude? No, they always think they are nice people. Here's another fact, blaming others, but yourself is called "Entitlement".
