He drove an old car. Sounds like that was the first clue he really didn't have it to go all the places but didn't want to look bad in public. Sad he couldn't communicate that to you.
You’re very brave for making this video and I hope you’re doing ok now. I understand the powerless isolated feeling you describe. That’s almost worse than being punched, being gaslit and treated as less than. Ugh. Disgusting. No one deserves that.
Sorry to hear that. Hope you doing better. Well, some women are trash... They just watching is very poor, I think they were scared. I had been punched twice by a guy in broad daylight and women saw that too. But they had the disrespect to go with the guy to the police and helping him even trying to get a fake witness that didn't even see the incident... I've got several medical reports and a lawyer for several 1000 of euros. So yeah, I'm not wondering people are really trash nowadays. Sending you lots of strength. I hope you went to doctors for documentation. It's very important.
I can only speak about Korea, but the only way to keep your boss out of your bum is to put your head down, never miss a day of work even if you feel like you're dying, always say yes, and be flexible like no other especially in private schools/hagwons as they're essentially a business and sees foreign teachers as dispensable help. I work at a university now, so I only work about 10 hours a week and basically don't interact with my korean boss all but twice a semester. But if anyone has any doubts about teaching, ALWAYS ask the school to let you talk to a current or former foreign teacher there and never go to a school that you are the only foreigner there unless the exception would be a public school, but never a hagwon. Too many horror stories I've read and heard about... I myself have tattoos on my arms and even in summer always wear long sleeves when I teach not to piss off my boss and make students complain.
Even if you have evidence, 9/10 times they will find that you are at fault amongst my experience and friends. I live in Korea. Best advice I can give is, keep your head down and if your job is screwing you over just do a midnight run. Confrontation will just make the situation worse and going through a legal process will just cost you money in the end, your sanity, and your time. I mean from a justice system that reduces your punishment if you say you were drunk is pretty much the summary of how dumb their legal system works here.
never been to china got invited (free holiday too!!) recently and said NOOOOOOOOO! Went to costa ricaaaaa!!!! non rac*st welcoming peaceful and healthy food and environment and eco unlike ugly dirty rac*st diseas*d China
You said you ended up settling for compensation- meaning fair amount of time has past. Weeks if not months. The black eye you have in the video is from another accident?
As a Chinese person, I am very sorry that you have had this experience and I hope you can get justice and heal physically, emotionally and spiritually. Can you tell me the name of the company you joined? I will expose their scandal in China. I found it incredible that there were so many victims in the comment section.
I have watched all 3 videos after seeing you with a black eye. The first one shocked me that they wanted you to pay the fine, but then, when you played the conversation between you and the supervisor, I was a bit shocked. Your supervisor was giving you feedback, yet you became very defensive and gave excuses about everything. Sure, there may be reasons why you didn't do what they wanted, but then, instead of giving excuses as to why, it would be much better to ask how the supervisor could support you in achieving what it is they want you to do. Either they are going to show you exactly what they want or they are going to see that it's impossible. People in the comments are saying it's a Chinese thing- but I can tell you after teaching in the USA for 30 years, it's also a USA thing. Janet tried to tell you how you could improve in the second video, but you weren't that receptive to it. I don't think it's really about the accidents. I think they didn't like your teaching style and the fact that you are not a reflective teacher when Janet was providing feedback. By the way, a warning does not have to be stern. Plus, how can they tell you something when you keep interrupting? I'm pretty sure that you are the one who is being manipulative in this past conversation. The school also needs to learn that feedback should be given IN WRITING.
I teach for a Chinese company online. I just visited China for the first time and got to meet the people I work with and the director/owner of the school. I am SO HAPPY that they were nothing like the people you worked with. How you were treated is unreal from the beginning. They should have taken care of everything for you from the plane ticket to your apartment to your quarantine, to the accident. You shouldn't have to pay for their issue.
You are from South Africa. A Country that is killing other Africans who have supported them during the years of Apartheid. As long as we are divided and Our leaders keep handing first the West and now Asian Our resources we will be treated the same way. Kwame Nkrumah saw this coming. Lumumba saw this coming. Unite or perish.
Stumbled across your video of a year ago. Was literally horrified - have been to China twice, they are the most racist people ever! So glad you are ok - well, hoping you are okay! Peace, health, love and happiness to you and your life! Good wishes from a priest.
I'm glad you got out. YT showed me the video after that asshole punched you. I found your channel, and I'm happy that you're in a safer place. Take care!
I am so sorry to hear about this, young lady, but please take your knowledge and care where it is worth it. And good on you for sharing your story. Damn it!
