I cannot find the words to justify the brilliance of the Danish symphony orchestra..only to thank each and every one of them for their musical perfection and keeping me and thousands of others entranced throughout this lockdown ..x

I recently discovered the Danish National Symphony Orchestra. What a gem.Brought back alot of memories of when I was a kid watching spaghetti westerns.The over all talent is second to none.Denmark you should be very proud.

This orchestra is not afraid to use alternate or lesser know instruments in order to achieve the sound they deem necessary. All of their conductors are phenomenal, but this young lady here is fearless when it comes to alternate sounds. The chorus is superb, the instrumentalists are just off the charts great, and Tuva is. . . .Tuva. How can one even describe her; I have no idea why she is not better recognized, considering what she does and how she does it. Actually, that goes for the entire group; they’re all superb. I just love this orchestra and am in absolute awe of each and everyone of them. Humongous thumbs up!

The world cannot thank you enough Ennio, what a treasure of marvelous music to leave behind - R.I.P.

I live in those lonely places west of the Mississippi. It took an Italian to know what these haunting, desolate, beautiful places sound like to the human soul. I would love to go to Copenhagen to hear this beautiful group of people perform.

I have heard this music hundreds of times over many years, but seeing how it is done makes me appreciate the genius of Ennio Morricone even more.

The greatest movie score of all time. And the greatest western of all time.

Couldn't understand the tears watching Once Upon a Time in the West until I realized, its the music. You can have your Mozart and your Brahms. You can take your Williams and your Zimmerman. Ennio Morricone, that is the real deal. How a bunch of Danes dug so deep into his heart and soul is a mystery. But thank God for that. Love it.

From one of the starkest, dusty dirty and grimiest portrayals of life and death in an old West frontier town, came one of the most soaring heartbreakingly beautiful score of music ever put to film. Thank you Ennio for your genius and thank you Danish National Symphony company for recreating it perfectly.

For those of us of a certain age ~ myself now having made the journey 'round the Sun almost 60 times ~ can we just take a moment to acknowledge that, in our lifetime, we have been BEYOND graced to have our experience at the cinema enhanced by Signore Morricone and Mr John Williams? A century from now, people will listen to this music the way we do the works of Bach and Mozart...

I am an Indian but I have fallen in love with Italian music... Italy 🇮🇹 is a gold mine of musicians gifted by God ... RIP Morricone 🙏 , Felt sad but his creations are eternal, will continue to live for ever.. mesmerise us and our next generations....

A Danish ochestra, conducted by a woman from Hawaii, plays a soundtrack, song by an Norwegian lady, written by an Italian man, to an american western...Brilliant...edited:..this is an Italian western filmed in Spain..I am sorry if my comment made anyone upset, and forced you to write anything hatefull, as this was certainly not my intention..peace on you all

Growing up in a lower middle class family without much means. Ennio Morricone’s music as a kid watching his epic films is what drew me to orchestral music, then the classical pieces. It’s a strange road but I still love his musical style. Thank you.

For some reason...when a great orchestra plays iconic tunes it seems to highlight just how brilliant & original the music is. It's amazing how much this piece meanders along - you can feel an epic story unfold, musically.

The great man has passed away today. He was a titan that spanned the world of film music. He brought us some of THE most iconic music we have ever been privileged to hear. His music defined a whole genre of film making. For me, this plaintive piece of music feels very fitting at this time. Riposo in pace Maestro. I'm a huge Ennio Morricone fan, and listening to this I think Morricone would be proud that the Danish National Symphony Orchestra's rendition of his works are true to its core. And Tuva Semmingsen is just simply fantastic!

Sometimes I think that the movie was just made to celebrate the music … amazing how beautiful and expressive it is.

This is May 2024 and this recreation of the original by late legendary ENNIO MORRICONE'S iconic, timeless & classic score by Danish National Symphony Orchestra led by Sarah Hicks continues to be exceedingly electrifying, enormously exciting, exceptionally enthralling, excellently entertaining and exquisitely expressive even today. Vocals by Tuva Semmingsen are soulful, spellbinding and superb.Their recreation is marvellously melodious, magnificently memorable, magically momentous and mesmerisingly masterpiece. ❤❤❤❤

That harmonica at the beginning is just about the most mournful music I think I've ever heard.

One reason that few other orchestras could ever come close to this is that they lack Tuva Semmingsen! What a unique range of talents the lady has!

Absolutely fantastic music. I saw this movie in Germany in1970 when I was in the Army--fell in love with the movie and the music. Then went to Vietnam and, as we sat in bunkers, they played the last part of the score with the lady singing as the Armed Forces Radio signed off at midnight. Incredible times, incredible memories. . . ., for all the bad and unfortunate things people do, we can still make music like this. . .,

At 75 years of age I have seen " Once upon a Time in the West" many...many times since its first release. Just listening to the music I can picture in my mind every movie scene of this movie. One of the very best westerns ever made. Bar none!!

How can someone not listen to this again and again.

My God, the Mezzosoprano nails it, the beauty of the song is totally done justice by her beautiful voice. I can see the movie scene clearly in my mind when she sings. This Danish orchestra is amazing. Also, gotta say it - that is the most gorgeous conductor I have ever seen

I can’t believe this movie is 53 years old. My father and I were huge western fans and we never missed the Saturday afternoon matinees. I was real excited to see this because I knew it was directed by Sergio Leone.

2:33 orchestration trivia nerd stuff: the clarinets are using a technique called dovetailing, where a single passage is swapped between players so they can draw breath and create an unbroken musical line. They normally overlap by a note or two so the switch is almost imperceptible.

Watching this for the 40th time and it suddenly hit me, this is perfection.

Morricone's pieces are so haunting, so cosmic, you just close your eyes and you start moving to other times and memories.....Brilliant!

The second part performed here, the theme, to me feels like the music is saying life is hard, brutal and unforgiving, but that it's beautiful too, and like an endless river will carry on flowing after it's your time to go.

Every generation people will enjoy this music for ever 🙏

I love this small country called DANMARK, where I had de pleasure to live for a short period. For me, Scandinavians are the most advanced people in the world: they are centuries ahead of any other nation, considering material, non-material, ethical, intelectual and spiritual points of views. I wouldn't say that danish have the same warmth as we, latin people have, but they are amazingly nice people with a good heart, perhaps even naive at some point, which give them the beauty of a childish good heart. I really love them Iin this version you can appreciate their perfection and purity of feelings. I had de gift of watching alive Morricone's last concert at ARENA DI VERONA pre pandemia... would love to travel back to Denmark to see this performance. Favel

Danish Orchestra is a gem! Accidentally found last year and got hooked and addicted to it ever since. The renditions of all of Maestro Ennio's music is absolutely flawless. Just dumbfounded!!

My son started listening to these at age of 2 months. Tuva's voice calmed him down no matter how desperate the crying session was

As a child I loved this music , I had Gabriel’s oboe playing at our wedding when my wife walked towards me . I wanted once upon a time in the west but my wife said it was to emotional . I will have it played at my funeral as the last song in my life . Thank you Mr Morricone 🙏
