I recently discovered the Danish National Symphony Orchestra. What a gem.Brought back alot of memories of when I was a kid watching spaghetti westerns.The over all talent is second to none.Denmark you should be very proud.

Growing up in a lower middle class family without much means. Ennio Morricone’s music as a kid watching his epic films is what drew me to orchestral music, then the classical pieces. It’s a strange road but I still love his musical style. Thank you.

I have heard this music hundreds of times over many years, but seeing how it is done makes me appreciate the genius of Ennio Morricone even more.

Sometimes I think that the movie was just made to celebrate the music … amazing how beautiful and expressive it is.

I live in those lonely places west of the Mississippi. It took an Italian to know what these haunting, desolate, beautiful places sound like to the human soul. I would love to go to Copenhagen to hear this beautiful group of people perform.

This orchestra is not afraid to use alternate or lesser know instruments in order to achieve the sound they deem necessary. All of their conductors are phenomenal, but this young lady here is fearless when it comes to alternate sounds. The chorus is superb, the instrumentalists are just off the charts great, and Tuva is. . . .Tuva. How can one even describe her; I have no idea why she is not better recognized, considering what she does and how she does it. Actually, that goes for the entire group; they’re all superb. I just love this orchestra and am in absolute awe of each and everyone of them. Humongous thumbs up!

Vocals by Tuva Semmingsen are soulful, spellbinding and superb.Their recreation is marvellously melodious, magnificently memorable, magically momentous and mesmerisingly masterpiece. ❤❤❤❤

I have such a crush on Tuva Semmingsen. And that was when I heard her wah-wah-wahs and her whistling. She sounds as good as the original from the movie.

The music reverberates, elevates, and immortalizes each key scene and the characters in it against a savage West where greed, revenge, violence, and quick death are the norm. The combination was unprecedented, and after nearly 60 years, the vision is still unsurpassed.

For some reason...when a great orchestra plays iconic tunes it seems to highlight just how brilliant & original the music is. It's amazing how much this piece meanders along - you can feel an epic story unfold, musically.

Ennio Morricone's scores are beyond magic, in my opinion. The ups, the downs, and everything in between! Certainly, he is my favorite composer. There are so many Greats, don't get me wrong, but for is contribution to Western Cinema, and the beauty v. beast themes of the films.... Just, Wow!!!! I feel the well captured and conveyed those types of emotions and excitements, as appropriate. A true ledged in my opinion. After watching several other Morricone compositions performed by The Danish National Symphony Orchestra, I feel they have done Morrcsone such a great honor, and played with such conviction and valor. I truly thank, and applaud, all of the members. Such dedication, such emotion. I am simply blown away... Thank you to Maestro Hicks, and to the rest of the ensemble for their talent and dedication. Bravo.

1970 was the first time I saw this movie, and I've seen it many times since.. this music is magic.

Couldn't understand the tears watching Once Upon a Time in the West until I realized, its the music. You can have your Mozart and your Brahms. You can take your Williams and your Zimmerman. Ennio Morricone, that is the real deal. How a bunch of Danes dug so deep into his heart and soul is a mystery. But thank God for that. Love it.

RIP Ennio Morricone - this particular theme always makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up - this is probably the best rendition I've ever heard of it - bravo

The great man has passed away today. He was a titan that spanned the world of film music. He brought us some of THE most iconic music we have ever been privileged to hear. His music defined a whole genre of film making. For me, this plaintive piece of music feels very fitting at this time. Riposo in pace Maestro. 2:33 orchestration trivia nerd stuff: the clarinets are using a technique called dovetailing, where a single passage is swapped between players so they can draw breath and create an unbroken musical line. They normally overlap by a note or two so the switch is almost imperceptible.

Absolutely fantastic music. I saw this movie in Germany in1970 when I was in the Army--fell in love with the movie and the music. Then went to Vietnam and, as we sat in bunkers, they played the last part of the score with the lady singing as the Armed Forces Radio signed off at midnight. Incredible times, incredible memories. . . ., for all the bad and unfortunate things people do, we can still make music like this. . .,

Tuva's voice is incredible and Sarah Hicks is, in my opinion, a world class conductor. She did an amazing job bringing this composition together.

As a father I try to educate my son to the best of my ability. Watching once upon a time with my boy was one of those days.

One reason that few other orchestras could ever come close to this is that they lack Tuva Semmingsen! What a unique range of talents the lady has!

This orchestra is brilliant you can hardly tell their music from the originals. The harmonica theme sends a chill down my spine, while jills theme brings me close to tears. Well done to the Danish National Symphony Orchestra, I like everything you do. I hope one day I'll get to see you live.

It was the BEST rendition of the music behind the BEST American Western movie ever made. The movie was an Italian production, influenced and inspired by the all-pervasive American culture. The movie in turn influenced and inspired American filmmakers to come up with great and memorable movies like The Wild Bunch, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, and The Unforgiven where the good, the bad, and the ugly all had stories worthy of telling and knowing.

"Like" button is not enough for me to express how much I love this Danish presentation.

In my will, I will specify that the theme of "Once Upon a Time in the West" plays at my funeral. It is the most beautiful piece of music I have ever heard.
