ONCOLOGY - Haematological Malignancies (Part 3/3) - Myeloma & Myelodysplastic syndrome 

Smouldering Myeloma here.. Very excited about CAR-T Cell therapy. MY hematologist reckons stem cell transplants will be a thing of the past as Car-T cell therapy progresses, they are getting MRD- negative results that have lasted many years. Two gentlemen who received the therapy in its early stages as a trial in 2010 have recently been declared by their Trial doctors as 'cured' of Leukemia. One chap had his blood examined and they detected that he STILL had the modified chimeric Car-t cell in his body, the put them in a petri dish and they still sought out and actively killed Leukemia cells on contact. He was diagnosed at age 49, went thru several treatments and was facing death in 2010, he's now 75 yrs of age & Leukemia free and has monthly maintenance infusions. Immunology-therapies and genetic engineering are going to cure these blood cancers & others in the next 10 yrs. Count on it
