lol everyone wants to back seat game in the comment sections of videos like this like the poster hasn't or hadn't figured out what they should've done.
@@Scro10m the action of not killing Anahata near the end. In the fight as Shiva summons up allies, the second batch contains an Anahata, the second or third time its summoned its a 50/50 chance to just immiedetely cast Mediarma which heals half of Shiva's HP. But the action he's refering to is healing with Camael instead of attacking
@@dracula103192 that fucking pissed me off on my closest attempt to the point I went off hard mode to normal mode, I was so pissed by that point I didn't care
@@tsyumamatsuthehavenofguard32 I understand mate. I spent 2 days fightin Shiva. Tandava was always devastating to me because i was the idjit an only had buff an debuff skills. No neutralize buff an debuff skills
Damn that was so heartbreaking cause you were so close to finishing Shiva off, but props to you using the archangels. It’s awesome to see you use them pretty damn well.
Gotta hate that God level heal from Ananta. Also, in addition to the revival chant, you might want to use megami types for you magatsuhi turns. Its a great way to save MP after your party gets wrecked. Full heals and entire stock revivals. Plus you keep the turn to summon another demon back or replace the megami for the next time you need it.
what do you mean save megami types for magatsuhi turns? (aint played it since release so if there is some type of benefit I have completely forgotten it)
Nobody: Ananata: That’s some nice progress you’ve done to Shiva, it would be a shame if I … HEALED HIM!!! (Restores Shiva to full) Sucka!!! Nahobino: cheater!
Archangel comp isn't really suited for this fight, but then again it doesn't seem like you built your team for this fight, keep in mind even a weak ice spell is essentially a pass turn icon that does damage.
I was fighting him yesterday for like 30 sth minutes. I don't know maybe it was a bit late and I wasn't thinking straight but I just needed one more turn to finish the guy off. I left the goddamned snake alive and decided to buff. 20k+ heal. Nuff said I just turned the switch off at that moment. At least the vibe in the background is nice.
Personally I'd have zero-in on Shiva near the end given Ganesha and Parvati gave you free turns you had a full party of demons and a full Magutsuchi for critical. I think all 8 hits would have finished the fight.
This may sound weird but this is why I like SMT in general. Other rpgs rarely if ever REQUIRE your to max out your levels when taking on a boss. But even if you do all of that, an enemy can still get the upper hand on you if you lack the proper strategy or get unlucky. The difficulty and bs RNG are part of the charm.
Nearly Every Final Fantasy superboss from FFVII to FFX says hello... Emerald and Ruby Weapon from FFVII, Omega Weapon from FFVIII, Ozma and Hades from FFIX, the dark aeons and ESPECIALLY Penance from FFX, etc. Countless other superbosses from other series also require you to be at max level to stand a chance, like pretty much any KH Superboss, (Unknown from KH1FM, Lingering Will and the data fights from KH2FM, Venitas Remnant, Mysterious Figure, and No Heart from KHBBS, The Limit Cut fights and Yozora from KH3, etc) the superbosses from Dragon Quest 11S, (Timewyrm and Golden God) Grima and the entirety of his dungeon from Fire Emblem Echoes, Damballa, ABYSSEYES, Barbello, and NAMELESS from Meteo Chronicles R, Galdera from Octopath Traveler, etc. Probally countless more but IDK as I haven't played too many JRPGs honesty.
@@MastaGambit yep, it was painfully obvious he was committing some seriously dumb mistakes, he had shiva at his mercy, literally! You kill the boss, you win! Lots of smt boss design RELY on boss rush, kill em before they kill you. A boss that really is bs tho is lucifer, specifically the devil survivor 1 version. My god what a frustrating ass match that is, can kill you in one turn EASILY, summons allies that harrass you, the infamous "megidoladyne" which even level 99 character's still get one shot by it unless they're amane(high magic stat). There's no goofing around in that battle, either use the absolute best loadouts possible or lose over and over, nothing else. I will never forget how such a small mistake as putting thunder REPEL instead of thunder ABSORB or void, immediately causing him to HEAL 700 hp(for context a buffed megidolaeon does about 400-500 and that's max magic with something like a magic buff auto skill) extremely frustrating.
@@krimsonkatt the thing with KH is you can do all those at lv.1. Its more of a hassle but once you get the patterns down, its doable. Turn based games are difficult in that regard is you have to put your faith in numbers. If they are against you, you are fucked.
this comment is 2 years late, but im playing smt 5 now and one of the things i came to appreciate it its how there are soooo many ways to approach any battle. you can have so many different strategies and teams, its so fun!! frustrating but fun :) the charm is figuring out the approach works for you
during your second crit turn, you should have focused shiva as when shiva dies, the battle ends. if you had just attacked shiva and done nothing else, you probably would have been able to kill him. also leave one of his guys alive bc his ai doesnt make him call allies until all are dead. just dont leave the ananta alive or else.
btw, if you're seeing this, how much of a pain in the ass was it to get mermaid up to level 99? you probably just used grimoires. if you didn't, i feel sorry for you wasting you're time. i mean its not a waste but still.
There were plenty of times you could have ended the fight but didn't. Shiva was at such low HP and then you spammed heals and items when you didn't need them instead of going all out and taking advantage of your critical aura to finish the fight. Healing won't get you press turns, only attacking will and you need as many press turns you can get late into the fight before Shiva can fully heal or anihalate your party with his OP pierce buff.
i can't wait until someone responds with a video of their own titled "shiva is actually very easy, hard mode, nahobino only, blindfolded, two hands tied behind my back lol xd lmao" :|
He is relatively easy if you hyper buff yourself after many new game + files, but it ruins the challenge, me personally love using demons i like and work from there
tbh honest, the best comp to face Shiva is Amon, Idun/Cleopr and Odin, youre a pattient fella doing it with the angels (some of them are not even max HP)
I would have felt bad here, But you're making questionable descions here such as going critical when you can't even use 5/8 of your turns. Not targetting ananta which is just ballsy asf, I am surprised he didn't heal until the very end
I knew exactly what that damn snake was going to do after losing this fight so many times, it was so nerve racking just sitting here waiting for it to happen
Agreed this guy's plays were patheticly bad. They could have ended the fight so many times but didn't since they focused on healing and buffing rather than attacking when the boss was so low.
I'm no where near this boss yet and I already don't wanna play this game anymore. I'm only like level 26. When or if I get here, I'm going on safety difficulty. 😭
I mean not to say that its a bad strategy but its better to have 2 support demons or have 1 demon and nahobino as support (my team was Fion, Odin, Idun and Nahobino Supp/Alm/Ice). I beat Shiva with only that strategy and full phys and murakumo
I've not really had trouble on this fight. I'm confused if I just had an accidentally really good team or whether I've found a game I'm not bad at. I didn't use any magatsuhi skills other than critical and had a team made up of level 94s and one 88. I'm guessing I just got lucky with my team being pretty decent (level 94 magic nahobino with bufubarion, debilitate and divine arrowfall being my mainly used skills, level 94 mermaid with luster candy, ice age and bufubarion, level 88 Idun with golden apple and me patra, and level 95 baal with zanbarion, floral gust, impalers animus and makajamaon.) Is that good for this fight? I'm genuinely confused as to how I had no problems.
Thank you, my goal isn’t to build meta demons i just use whatever i like and try my best to make them strong, like Mermaid, Amanozako, Base Abdiel, Among others
They had plenty of opportunities to kill Shiva, but they played it way too safe by going for the allies, since Shiva is just going to resummon them regardless. (I didn’t look at the video posted date, but I’m assuming they already beat shiva eventually)
@@bookoostrikes For real. When I killed shiva, I never went for his allies, and focused solely on him (And on ananta, ofc). It was a great strategy, as ganesha only did physical attacks (while I had vishnu.) and all kali could do was an annoying, but manageable status effect ability. I was only on normal though, if that changes anything.
@@Bruh_but_why For me, I was level 90 on hard. Unfortunately, dakini and kali were very annoying (charm and mirage are nightmares and more often then not, someone got hit, plus they both have dekaja and dekunda) so i killed them. Parvati, I would alternate keeping her alive, until she used mahamon, since I didnt want her spamming marakukaja and and stalling out the fight, in conjunction with Ganesha's matarunda.
You can find all of the Aogami essences randomly by farming in the area where you fight Seth. I recommend the little dragon guide. Otherwise, there should be a type 10 essence in a treasure somewhere in the Taito region. You can also rarely find extra essences of the same type in the area you first found them.
This is one if the reasons RPG games didn't tick for me for a long time, Damage Sponge bosses, specially when they not only can one/two shot you but when they heal themselves in some way Also for anyone saying "well you can heal up so why can't the boss?" A full hp bar heal for nahobino is like 1000 hp more or less, a MODERATE HEAL for Shiva is 23fuckingK, there is no point of comparison
The reason JRPGs, particularly older ones, don't stick for me is the need to grind It's smooth sailing up a certain point in the game, the pacing is great, battles have a challenge to them but they're always winnable, and then you arrive at a boss that twerks all over you, and the only way to stand a chance is to walk around in circles beating random dudes to level up for sometimes hours at a time I'm getting into MegaTen, and I decided to start from the "beginning", that being SMT for the SNES, and barely 2-3 hours into the game I already need to grind
Yeah rule number one of this fight Keep killing that friking snake as far it got there Number two When Shiva health it's red it's time to attack him like there's no tomorrow
You could have killed Shiva in the second turn of this video if you only have aggro it. Two critical Murakumo might have finished Shiva with two additional Akashic Arts from Uriel.
"its not that hard" Yeah ok dude, you try fighting a boss with over 65k hp and has allies that debuff you, buff shiva, AND on top of that shiva pierces yo ass every other turn
@@hyperten5906 he's not too wrong thiugh. The boss is hard, but the strats really are simple enough. Full ice works, murakumo works, and anyone who isn't ananta can generally be ignored (except maybe dakini because of her staus spam). Lave one alive (ganesha usually) and shiva won't even try to call new allies for a while.
