ONE BIG REASON the PING iCrossover is IN MY BAG! 

For your swing speed this club's low spin has the ball dropping out of the air. I wouldn't think 180's-190's carry would be replacing a 3-wood. But, if you like it and are confident with it, that's really all that matters.

I went from a Ping 2 Crossover to a the G425 3 wood. I topped the 3 wood frequently too until I started hitting slightly down on the ball. Very similar to an iron swing. After a little research, hitting down on your fairway woods is proper. I kill my 3 wood now consistently. Did you try that?

Ping has taken over that area of my bag. Recently got the G430 3 wood, G430 19* Hybrid and the iCrossover 4 iron. Love them all.

Hi Gabe. Interesting video... for us mere mortals I believe a hybrid is a more adequate Club. Speaking for me... I've tested Driving Irons, UDIs and hybrids to fill a particular position in my bag (230yds) and don't like the look of a chunky hybrid. I've always wanted a slim driving iron (sex appeal)😂, But after a lot of testing the hybrid came on top for versatility, consistency(forgiveness) , flight window and stopping power. I went with the compact taylormade SIM 2 hybrid. And I'm so happy I did. It would be interesting if you could maybe do a comparison of that iron vs a hybrid vs a 5w and see how that works for your game my friend. Happy golfing!

So just a thought. And I'm not a professional. But why is your backswing so short? it honestly looks like you are 3/4 swinging that thing.

I took out my 3W for the same reasons. I’m trying out my Ping G410 5W at 16.5° (basically a 4W) and am really liking it. Great off the tee and playable off the deck.

So, is this the new trend for 2023, adjustable driving irons? I’d prefer “ set it and forget it”.

I got my i230s this year; 4-U, Glide 2.0 54/58 degree. I’m a 17.9 HCP, and love my 230s and hit them very well. I am very interested in this club, as I have a tendency to hook my fairway woods (I play g430 max 5w/3w, and hardly ever use the 3W.

Not a bad choice. I changed out my 3H for the UDI a few months ago after not being able to hit the hybrid to save my life. I'm sure much of it was mental but sometimes swinging an iron, especially in the fairway, seems easier for me. I hit it a fair bit lower than you are with the Ping but in the Pacific Northwest a low trajectory shot is a must at times depending on the wind. The adjustability would be a nice feature to have on the club though.

Great video as always, I always wondered what do you do with the clubs you move on from? Would be cool as a subscriber to get a chance at some of your personal collections once you move on from them like the ping 425 3 wood. Either way, your content always gets me pumped, great energy!

U need that rogue 3wood

Carry distance off the deck was an average of 170.......how does this replace a 3 wood ? I carry my 7 iron 175 and my 3 wood 245-250 according to Arccos (I'm 61). I don't get the substitution.

Very impressive results, but I can get the same (or better) results with my Tour Edge Exotics C722 Ti Utility Iron. I have the #3 Ti Utility, which has 19* of loft, and it’s shafted with a Fujikura Ventus Blue 8S driving iron/hybrid shaft.

Nice review. Perhaps you might try Tour Edge Exotics Pro 721 Hybrid as well. It has loft of 17, 18, 19, 20. It is more forgiving than Ping Crossover. Also, if we compare them with the same loft, Tour Edge Exotics Pro 721 hits further.

So I mentioned it didn't make sense 6 months ago you did what's in the bag and you have 3 hybrid with the crossover you now have 2 clubs for same distance to solve that you pulled out your 3 wood. Not making any sense. For me I have a udi, 3 hybrid and 7 wood which I change out depending on course and condition. I swapped out my 3 wood for 5 wood simple cause I top my 3 wood to much. Love your channel but this video has no logic in bag setup just my thoughts

I have the Ping 425 hybrid, and 3 wood, love them both. They are dead straight … most of the time. Lol Good distance up to 235. Personally, I wouldn’t get rid of them.

Getting a golf lesson is key. Have someone professional take a look at your swing. It's not the club false like you said, so it's the swing. Fix the swing and love what you have. Like marriage I guess. Lol. Sometimes you gotta fix yourself.

Hit the ping G425 wood like you would hit a long iron. Ball position is closer to leading foot. Shaft leaning out at an angle slightly. You will hit off the deck easily. I had the same problem. But I fixed it. Now my 3wood is as long as the driver. And a lot more reliable than my driver even. I use it on a tight fairway. Only use my driver if I want to hit bombs on open fairway.

I game a Ping G15 Hybrid at 17 deg and I don't carry a 3W. I am seriously considering replacing it with the new iCrossover 2. Will go down to my local golf store and try it out.

Gabe, it is such a relief to know that there are clubs that even you struggle with. Gives us newbies some hope. I'm having the same trouble with my Yonex Elite 2 Blue 3 Wood. I absolutely love the club itself, but I just can't seem to hit it decent at all so far.

Why don’t you try the 5wood max Ping. Turn it down to 16 degrees you may find as I did with the ping brand that the 5w will fly higher with longer carry than the 3w max. And the 5w is much easier to hit. It works for me

I've been looking at the mizuno fli hi 2 iron graphite .but no adjustability .like the ping .

It's either high or penetrating, you can't have a "high penetrating ball flight" 😂😂

You should try a taylormade GAPR mid…..adjustable as well and a 🚀

Nice looking club. I would personally go for a hybrid. I have a 5 hy in my bag and it's just an excellent club off the tee and in the fairway. Good luck with the new club.

Hey would you do a review on some top flite starter clubs?

To me UDI’s are gimmicky where they only work well on certain courses and players. If I had a choice between that a hybrid it’s a no brained. And if I did get one I’m not shelling out $250, that’s crazy.

Thanks for the test, I do love your channel as a “mere mortal” like the rest of us😅 But as others have mentioned, it is hard to see that one replacing the 3w. The screen you displayed during the video withnthe specs also stated that it’s more a 7w equivalent. It would be interesting if you could put it in perspective of your gapping with what’s in your bag. If you have given up on the 3w for a while, then there’s a spot in the bag to fill in with something else, and this may very well make sense in that context, but again, I don’t see it *replacing* the 3w… 🧐 And just a PS: Please 🙏 have your swing speed on the screen for strokes in the booth. For some reason they were dashed out. Ball speed without the swing speed is almost useless for us here on this side of the screen 😉

I think there will be soon an other club which is replacing this one. Makes no sense if it is only a fairway finder but to much gap to the driver.

I always thought a wood was supposed to go further than an iron. I thought having both a 3 wood and a 3 iron made sense… or is your bag just too full for both?

200 yard 4 iron replacing your 3 wood Im guessing is 225-235? is this stopping quick enough for a 200 yard par 3? like to see a par 3 200 yarder with this in 4 and ping g425 4 hybrid? and this in the 2 vs G425 5 wood? (i hit my irons 100% better than current hybrids/woods) great review

I am surprised, I thought you were going to go with a 4-wood. I took a 3W high launch (16.5) Tour Edge Exotics and cut it down by an inch. It is basically a 3-wood head on a 4-wood shaft and it is an absolute bomber considering how consistent I hit it. As others have mentioned, you are still going to need a long wood to fill in the gap between this 205 yard club and a 260 yard drive.

That Ping 3w seems to be very similar to my Callaway v Series 3w. I love a shallow face 3w. I may need to try it. I don't have the club head speed for that ping crossover

Gabe, mmm. Not sure this really is the club for you from what you showed. You are normally more accurate with your clubs.

That’s seems a really nice club to,swing Gabe but what are you going to do with the yardage gap between driver and this. It must be quite a gap there I imagine. But if it gives you confidence then it’s worth the compromise for sure. Good work buddy. Roger. UK

Very interesting. I get adding something like that to your bag. Especially if your confidence level with that in your hands grows. However, giving up 20 - 30 yards with removing the 3 wood from your bag is a strange choice. Find a different 3 wood that you can hit if you are having troubles with the Ping 3 wood. Looks like your straining to hit this one. I feel, this is just a glorified adjustable 4 iron 😕..Have it swing weighted to your 5 iron, and the Results should be better. ie, lead tape. On course testing also required. Good vid again. thanks.

Yes I think 2 hybrid, you don’t have swing speed to be hitting that loft of a iron.
