Zach, you don't disappoint. Love the new layout, switch lantern and bridge. Beyond that your commentary is straight up and honest. Keep up the good work.
Hey Country bunker Trains, the new layout is awesome to look at already, a bit of the original mixed in with the new . can't wait to see up and running😊😊😊
Hey man, here's wishing you all the best with the new train setup! I casually find you in my feed from time to time and its great to see you still cranking out content. Excited to see the finished product, as your last setup was gorgeous.
great video. Everything is looking good. I especially like your description of the entrance bridge construction. Your purchase of Train Layouts bridge looks like a winner.
I've always enjoyed your previous layout especially the elevated line. This new design is terrific. More roomy and less congested. Congratulations for stepping up to Atlas track and the creation of a super layout. I believe a salute with Mr.Jack is due...🥃🥃🥃 ! Thanks for thew update Zach.
Layout is looking good. A little grass on the toasted Bagel(try dyed sawdust on a separate board to experiment to see if you like it),small Xmas trees(after Christmas discount small trees from Michaels ,Hobby Lobby, or Garage Sale}can really look good. Give that beard a spring trimming, you'll feel better and avoid a few minor accidents. When you have the official opening of the new layout be sure and get you a cake from Publix. Put a little train with some track made of icing on it.
I've come across this update in reverse order, so my comments on your most recent update were done without having seen this one first. I like the backdrop on the long wall of the industrial scene along the river for this new set up. It really sets it off. The wood panelling finishes look very nice. Funny that the same finish changes tone with each application. Still looks good, though. It'll be interesting to see the new second level track with the bridges installed. Looking forward to that.
Hi zack i like how your layout is coming along that is one great looking bridge you got from york. I always miss that show oh well i do get to octobers show im looking foward to your next update have a great day.
It's coming along quite nicely Zack, ask for the different colors of the stains on your wood is it all came from the same pine tree that would be consistency in the stain color and since there is no guarantee that all the wood is from the same tree at home Depot that is why you get the different variations of color in your stains it's basically the word not the product
Looks very well done and polished; the trains certainly enjoy those new tracks. You also still get all the fun of putting in the scenery, I can't wait to see that bridge in operation too!
Layout is looking good. I Never glue the road bed down so i can reuse it. Train layouts also sells hinge kits if you have problems with the one you put in.
Wow, that bridge is tremendous! I think it looks great the color it is! Not sure if I would paint it or weather it. Great pick up and addition for the layout! Super excited for you! Chris @Cbtrainnut
Looks great Zach! The difference in color on the wood is the difference in density of the pine boards. Did you sand all the wood before you stained? Also they make a pre stain that is supposed to help . But it looks great anyway. If you don’t point it out no one will notice. Can’t wait to see the finished layout. Keep it up! Thanks for sharing! Chris at Cbtrainnut on RU-vid!
Looks great Zach! I really like the way you installed the tracks. Screwed done tight, and then tested everything. Should make for smooth running rail fun. Have a blessed day!
Congratulations Zach, the new layout is coming along just great. Nice hint on mounting the hinged for the bridge lifting! Looking forward to seeing what you do next with it.
Zach, everything is looking great!!! Your lift bridge looks very cool, I love the way it’s sectioned into 3. That truss bridge is really going to look great, can’t wait for more updates. Ron
Congratulations Zach on your new layout! It’s coming along very nicely. Yes, it’s a work in progress, but it’s fun work, and no need to rush it. Having access in the center of the layout is going to be a game changer, especially when you need to get to a derailed train, or an accessory. I look forward to seeing the progress on your layout develop. Tom
Awesome! Love all of it. The lift bridge is great, I like the look. Thanks for the tip on the hinges, going to save me lots of trouble down the line. The new truss bridge is amazing. I keep saying I’m going to scratch build my 4’ bridge but I don’t know, that’s a beauty, I’ll h e to check out their site. Great update, looking forward to more.
Thank you sir! A 4 footer could be a fun project for sure, but these train layout bridges are on a a different level. Would take a good bit of work to replicate. Hope all is well! 🥃🍻
It was great to see and talk with you at York again. Meeting Tony was an added plus too. I'm glad you showed how to get a lift bridge to work properly with elevated hinges. I currently use a bascule lift bridge to enter my layout, but may upgrade that in order to run husky stacks. Great video as always.
Looks good man. Im new to the hobby and the channel. I didn't realize how expensive it was to buy decent track and trains. Now I see how some guys are 30-40 yrs invested. Definitely not an overnight success.
I've been following and looking forward to your new track layout plans for awhile. Everything looks absolutely amazing so far and I'm super exited to see all the progress! Awesome job Zach. That lift Bridge looks like it is going to be well worth all that work & headache!
Nice layout ! I would add a swing gate at the bottom pass through with a section of plastic lattice work from Lowes. It's flexible and will look like the old time trussel bridge structures and add some foam carved out like rocks on each side of the gate ???
Man Zack, I really like your intentions of your new layout , and love the bridge , can hardly wait to see everything come together! , take care bud.😎👋🚂🚂🚂
Excellent! The way that the layout is shaping-up is quite nice. I like the loops, as you can add lots of scenery and maybe a small siding on the inner loop in the future. Sometimes, though, it is better not to have switches, to complicate things. Not gluing down the roadbed is smart. If you have to make changes later, you can do it without any hassle. Your new layout build actually is what inspired me to take down my old layout and get my new one started. I mentioned this in a comment on one of your previous layout disassembly videos, when I asked about the size of your layout room. I have the inner main running, so I can stage everything that goes between the mains, like the town and commercial/industrial areas. If the quality of my build is close to yours, I'll be quite satisfied. Keep up the great work and I'm looking forward to more videos on the progress on the new layout. As always, a fine video.
Wow Zach not 1 or 2 but a 3 track swing up bridge amazing and simple I had a lot of trouble getting it to work on mine so I just did a pinned lift out great work looks good
Zach, just happened to be watching and forgot my parents were in Daytona until you mentioned Roundhouse South. Told them to stop by and check it out since they were staying just a couple minutes north of it. They did today and "found me something." lolol like how did that hahaha. Tell Tony (if I remembered his name correctly) he can add Indiana folk to the list of visitors!
Glad to see that your layout is still coming along Zach! A naked layout is a happy layout…alright that sounded way less awkward in my head. Also Where do you get your backdrops from?
Hello Zac; Lackawanna John, Outstanding platform, color great, how you design the 🚂 platform, living the outside window but l would maybe you put a mirror only the lower part of the glass it just might give you the other side of box car and so on. I like the lifting of the track entry to set and control the 🚂. The other great idea you put on the platform was the super Large Bridge just Outstanding. I use many Lionel 317 four in one line. Well another great Video Zac and see you again in next Videos. Thanks again. Lackawanna John.
One missed opportunity i see is your lower shelf. Add wheels on the legs so it can roll out, and you can slide totes behind it with empty boxes or accessing wiring
Good morning SALUTE FRIEND ZACH Nice work enjoy your videos as always I recently bought a LIONCHIEF POLAR EXPRESS SET WITH THE AQUARUIUM CAR FOR UNDER THE XMAS TREE GOD BLESS SALUTE ;-)
I love the work on this. I am new to the channel but I am thinking of trying O gauge in the future. I plan to start with a Heljan Class 60 but I have noticed that some are 2 and 3 rail. Would you know if the 2 rail locomotives would work on 3 rail? Or are there any conversion kits available? I have never done O gauge before, but I am willing to learn. Thank you for the video. Peter.
Glad you found us! Thank you for subscribing! As far as I know, the 2 rail engines will not work on 3 rail track (they need DC power I believe). There are some MTH 3 rails engines that will run on 2 rail DC powered track however. The recent kit a lot of people have been using is the Blunami kit, which is geared towards HO/DC powered equipment. But, a lot of folks are installing a bridge rectifier to transform it to AC power for use on 3 rail. It’s a Bluetooth kit that you can run on your phone. Looos interesting, but I’ve yet to try it. Hopefully that’s somewhat helpful… 🥃🍻
Very Very NICE Zach I love it it's looking Awesome so far can't wait for the next update are you gunna do any videos soon of the stuff you bought at York?
My layout is like your new section. I did the exact same track style. Atlas 3 rail with the same foam road bed. My outer loop is I believe O-96 or maybe one bigger. Its a huge curve
On my larger table 9.5 X 11.5 I have one loop and now an wondering if I want just more loops, or make a set of loop and a over and under connecting those 2 or three more loops as a continuous track. I also have many turn outs for this Gargraves track from my 1986 set up so maybe have them installed as well somehow. So yours in much larger but it has a bit of that same look I might have if I don't have any above level crossovers.
Looks Great...Can you use the high density 2" foam density foam for the main table top? The bridge and its mate to the main table would be MDF. What do you think? I use FasTrack for my layouts.
