Lyrics:
-Verse 1:
I'm hearing echoes of the words - I long to fall from your lips
And I'm painting daydreams - They represent everything I've missed
And I'm left speechless - We've been here before you and I
Sitting beneath - star-spread skies
-Chorus:
Would the sun burn out - just to shed a tear?
Would my heart give out - just to have you near?
And have I lived for too long - without the things that I hold dear?
And would you runaway - just to leave me here?
Verse 2:
The wind chimes are changing their story - and now you're changing your tune
And I'm wearing weights to keep me here - I'm waiting for you
I'm backed into a corner - I've never been happier here
Even one day would be enough - with you
-Chorus:
Would the sun burn out - just to shed a tear?
Would my heart give out - just to have you near?
And have I lived for too long - without the things that I hold dear?
And would you runaway - just to leave me here?
-Bridge: One day would be enough
-End:
Do you know where you're going?
Do you know what you're leaving behind?

This song is a composite of several short writings I journaled back in my twenties. The writing where the song got its name ended was: "I'd wait until the very last hour of the very last day, even one day would be enough with you." Me, my friend Bob, and my brother Clint pieced it all together and wrote the music in Bob's parents garage one summer when I visited home in Northern MN. On the recording Bob and I swip-swapped our parts on the recording. He originally played the rhythm guitar parts but I already had recorded them on acoustic. So he played my part on the verses and chorus. We got back to playing our respective parts on the solo R-side (Bob) L-side (Me).
