He knew 1D was about to end. When Harry asked for the hiatus in November of 2014, because they all needed a break, they took a vote and Niall, Liam, and Louis voted against the hiatus. They were being selfish. All you had to do was look at Zayn and see he needed a break. Harry was pissed, he informed the band he would not be resigning his contract once their five year five album deal was over. Go watch 1D Band Aid 30 interview. You'll see the tension between your boys and Harry's concern for Zayn. Zayn tried to hang in there till the end but was unable and had to leave early. People need to face reality. 1D was not in a good place towards the end.
