Back in the 90's, I owned a used 900 and then had a 9000 used. Till this day, no other cars or trucks have made me more happy to have.

saab 900 is a great example of a car that doesn't seem special on paper but once you own and drive it it is definitely special. I don't own one but I've heard from various number of owners. I hope to own one some day. For now, my 9-5 is a joy to drive! Great review, looking forward to the updates! Subbed :)

I owned a 80 900 turbo It was a nightmare being young only 19 but I loved that car. Through it all motor swap to a 78 non turbo thanks to Dennis Sweeney Saab cars and parts in Ligonier Pa eventually drunk driving in my twenties rolled it over and that car saved me and my friends life. Truly built with safety in mind im telling you all that car saves lives

Wow! I can relate that the cars can be temperamental depending on how it was cared for before and if it was built on a Friday! And I'm glad you guys survived all in all. I'm sure that was a big wake up call as well. The cars are shockingly solid form a body standpoint

In that time it has had a head gaskit repair and 4 sets of breaks a new Radiator and routine maintenance the interior Has a single crack in driver's seat cover and the best five speed in history bar none. I am going to drive this car in to Bankruptcy!! great heated seats too!

I. owned a '87 9kT and loved it!! When it needed service, the SAAB garage (not a dealer) I went to, had 900's for loaners. They had at least 200,000 miles. They were stick but the linkage was so worn, you had to "use The Force, Luke" to find the gears. They were incredibly stable in side winds! If you drive a 900 over a long bridge with lots of wind from the side, you'd NEVER know it. It went dead straight. The center console ignition was fun. It's been over 20 years since I owned my 9kT and I'd love to have any SAAB again.

Growing up in Sweden my father had three Saab 900 OG and one 900 NG, the last of the OG's was a red Turbo. A few years ago, my Nissan 200sx S13 was stolen and I borrowed an OG 900 Turbo 8-valve from a family friend. It was somewhat beaten up but drove great having gone 140k miles. I returned it after buying an OG 9-3 2.0T. Didn't really think about the T8 until I heard it was sold for 3 000 SEK ($300). I realised I missed out on owning my dream car, as a child I actually had a poster of a 900 Aero on my wall. Great video, there's simply something about the Saabs, this makes me miss them even more...

@@ExhibitionofSpeed Sadly I've forgotten how the different Saabs drive, the older ones are becoming very rare over here (road salt is probably the biggest culprit). I do however think that "Saab-feeling" is somewhat preserved even in newer 9-3s and 9-5s. It reminds me of the difference between a BMW E30 (I've driven those extensively) and a post 2000 model 3-series. The word "soul" comes to mind. I prefer older models genrally, got my eye on a couple of 9000 2.3Ts in my area which might come up for sale soon.

Had an 89 SPG with Swedish Dynamic tune. Crazy fast, well beyond what is safe, and left me grinning every time boost kicked in and tried to kill me. No other car like it. loved the shots watching a 900 fly through the snowy plains of Utah. I have an '88 turbo 5-speed in Malachite Green, absolutely love it. I think '85 / '86 - '89 are the sweet spot years for 900's. '89 did have a bad ECU reputation, but that's an easy swap if you have a spare.

@ExhibitionofSpeed Год назад
Thanks! I actually drive mine in the snow a surprising amount! It does quite well and maintain what I can to keep salt off. And I can totally understand the reservation with not having a place. This car parked outside for four years before it got a permanent garage spot. I very much appreciate abs in later cars, but in these where it was a late afterthought addition, it doesn't work well enough for me to want it Justin

@@ExhibitionofSpeed My ‘87 XJ gets snow / rain duty. It’s parked on the street, and a constant theft target. No way could I worry about two classics that way. pretty sure the og900 spgs were around 2900lbs, so pretty light, similar to a modern gr86 or s2k. Even the NG900s and OG9-3s were around 3100-3200lbs. The OG9-5 aeros (sedan) were almost exactly 3400lbs with a full 18.5 gallon tank of fuel though
