I feel the Hi-Power and the CZ75 after it were just the natural evolutions of the 1911. James just likes to find any opportunity to shit on the 1911 because he has a huge hate boner for it for some reason. Comparing the 2 isn't very fair to me because it's like comparing a kitten to a full grown cat. They're derived from the same genetics, one is just more matured than the other.
All you have to do is close your eyes and let your hands tell you what is best, by the amount of recoil and barrel flip, your hands will always pick Tanfoglio. Even thousand percent better than Cabot.
Massimo Tanfoglio is a true gentleman. I love his attitude and all the Tanfos I own. Tanfoglio knows IPSC and USPSA shooters and makes great guns for them. Nothing points for me like a Tanfo.
The whole Tanfo lineup is the stuff legends are made of... so glad you got to stop by and see this booth. I know your time is limited and theres a LOT to see, but ANY video coming from this freakin booth i will absolutely watch over and over.
I have a 2010 vintage Tangfoglio/EAA Witness fullsize with .45 ACP, .38 Super, and .22 LR kits. It is my absolute favorite pistol to shoot. Great ergonomics and outstanding quality.
Excellent interview. If anyone reading this finds a used Tanfoglio/CZ/clone in good shape & at a decent price, get it. The ones I've tested have put the joy back in shooting.
I’d say get one to add to your collection. They make many subcompact guns and I believe you’d be very happy with one especially for home defense. They are somewhat heavy but that helps with recoil as you know I’m sure. It’s really a great gun to have.
Such a, "SQUEE!" moment for me when I found out who he's talking with! I've loved Tanfoglio pistols since EAA first started importing them. EAA Witness .45, baby!
Wow,what a great interview!Tanfoglio the man himself.explaning truthfully the real deal on his pistols.they were all great.I have an old one thats almost 40 years old and it still looks and shoots straight being always reliable. Thanks you.
This is my favorite video from this event so far. He seems to be very well informed about the history & engineering that led to modern firearms, and he also shows appreciation & reverence for those who have contributed to such advancements.
I would love to compare a tangfolio stock to my CZ Shadow Orange just to see the difference or lack there of. Credit due to Mr. Tangfolio on his utmost professional and pushing the design in the European market as well as sport shooters world wide
@@ReeveHelalV it's a nice gun the over all fit and finish is wonderful no wobble if you shake it as well as I agree a great trigger. I still want to send it to Cajun gun works one day but for now I am okay
I will honestly have to purchase one of these just based on the tail end of the conversation Mr. Tanfoglio is clearly a man who understands gun design and respects the work and efforts of other gun designers and that is a great thing to see
O man, this is Top 5 James Reeves Classics! The amount of icon in this one video… besides all that my very first pistol was a Tanfoglio-Garndonne Bobcat…
Love this interview. My first piece was an Armacor MAP1 which is a Tanfoglio assembled by armscor in the Philippines. Had at least 2k rounds with no issues. Had it for 2 years (2008-2010) had to sell it back then, and after more than a decade went back to competitive shooting. Went with the P10 and just a week ago got my Stock 3 and I can't wait to go to the range to test it out.
If you were to bother even taking the slide of a Tanfoglio, not even try to disassemble it, you can see how much the design is different than CZ-75. I guess some things require a little more than pleasing Gaston.
i have an original witness .45 acp with .optional 22lr barrel conversion I absolutely love it , fast accurate and very well built over 5k rounds shot and never a jam on the .45acp setup ...it is my conceal carry weapon choice EAA is a great company and Tanfoglio is an amazing manufacturer
I bought a 1911 to own a historically significant firearm. I Know there are newer superior firearm designs but it doesn't suck. You always have great content and high quality videos, keep on rocking.
I think the 1911 falls into the same category as the FAL or the AKM(or any other 7.62 AK variant). It's a good firearm, especially so back in its day and can still be used to great effect by a skilled operator but is simply outcompeted by newer designs in almost every metric. Don't want to give the illusion that I'm bashing on historic firearms though I have a lot of respect for them.
@@ArguingOnlineTouchGrass I agree. There have been advancements in firearms technology since the 1911 was created and have surpassed the 1911, but it's sad now seeing so many comments I see trash talking the 1911. I have shot many different pistols over the years, but the all pale in comparison to a 1911. The grip, grip angle, the way it points, the accuracy, and of course, the famous trigger. The 1911 still has the greatest trigger of any pistol out there. They wanna trash talk it, but so many guns still use stuff from the 1911. Many guns still use the tilting barrel, some use the same kind of frame mounted safety, some use the same trigger mechanism. Even after 100+ years, the 1911 is still passing on it's parts to newer models. I will say, the main part that gets trashed about the 1911 is the capacity and I'll agree, it is low capacity for it's size, but just because a 1911 with a nice mag only holds 10+1 doesn't mean it's obsolete.
Bought a CZ witness hunter in 10mm a few years ago. The SOA trigger is okay. Installed a wolf recoil spring, Henning mag extensions (18 rnds of 10mm), Lok grips, and a C-more red dot. Also broke in a witness pavona that I liked despite the glitter infused reciever. Went with the Tang over a DW bruin. I had my DW V-Bob, and CZ Shadow 2 at the time, so decieded on the double stack C75 design.
I have a Stock III for years now and its my favorite Gun, after some smal modifications, like polish the Trigger-Group or the aluminium Grips instead the woodgrips. Sometimes she dont like 124gr. 9mm, so i only use 95gr. Greetings from Austria (and sure, i have a Glock too ^^)
There is actually a Mr. Tanfoglio- that's so cool, I had no idea. I'll probably find out next that the Browning Hi-Power was named after some dude named Mr. Hi-Power.
Love Tanfoglio competition handguns. I recently got a Limited Master 9mm large frame and I love it. Im a gunsmith and cerakote applicator. I made it look reallt awsome too
Some people act like no one would ever conceal carry something like that. I’ve cc’d an LAR Grizzly in fall and winter months. Full sized steel Tanfoglio’s and CZ’s would be cake. In Spring & Summer? IWB under a leather vest. I’ve always wanted one when these were still under EAA. I’ll be snagging one once I get my FFL.
I think the humor was getting lost in translation. Thank you for making great pistols, Mr. Tanfoglio! I love my Tanfoglio Witness Pro in 10mm. It is definitely better than my Colt Delta Elite.
I want the stock 2 in 10mm really bad. I also have an all steel full sized Witness in 45 in wonder finish that is my favorite gun. Its almost 20 years old and flawless. I have Locke grips on it and its a handsome piece.
The Tanfoglio is clearly a well thought out and high quality gun. I run a couple of high quality 45’s that are also well thought out. They don’t suck near as much as your self discipline.
You can't compare a 1911 with other pistols, but fact is that the 1911 competition evolution is also very popular under the shooters. The special about the 1911 and originally created for, is the cartridge, the Cal .45 ACP. A man stopper at middle and close combat range. The US Army was very traumatize about the attacks of the natives Filipinos armed with machetes in close body to body fights in the Philippines' War. The Army rejected the Luger because of the 9mm Para cartridge, they priories more stopping power at nearer distance.
1911 doesn’t always suck, just have to be selective with choosing a good one-my Kimber Warrior is very reliable with the same routine maintenance everyone else does in their Glocks, etc (I own the Glock 30 SF, getting Glock 40 MOS next). I use Wilson Combat and Chip McCormick 8/10 round mags, doesn’t malfunction and I’ve shot close to a thousand rounds.
If you think the 1911 sucks, then find an early Tanfoglio TZ-75 imported by FIE and try it out. As with most firearms, it is the quality of workmanship that matters most. Tanfoglio has come long way since the 1980s, so I do not condemn their products or any CZ75 clones.
Today I was shooting with the local police pistol club. Glock 17 Gen 3 then a Glock 21 Gen 4. The guy I was shooting with took out something I had never heard of a Tanfoglio Stock 3 and asked if I would like to try it. Wow heavy compared to the Glock's but next to no recoil. Im still working on my license hence training with the police so I'm no expert but my was that thing smooth. It also looked the part the lower having a Matt copper coating. I shot the same as with the Glock's so at least I'm consistent.
Im a big fan of these Tanfoglio pistols! These pistols are really nice! I think these pistols are great not just for IDPA shooting but in all types of shooting activities.
We already have this in America. Made by the same company. Distributed by IFG. It's called Defiant Stock Master. The only difference is this model has a lightened slide and grips of course.
I love my stock lll but one thing i find a bit disappointing is using a roll pin for the trigger pin which is soft, cheap and just unacceptable on a pistol that cost me $1700.00. I would expect that on glock or s&w but tanfoglio or any higher end pistol should have solid pins
I am drooling over this gun.... But in CommieFornia that will just have to be a long lost dream. Enjoy using this beauty in the Free World, my friends!
I've never shot one of these does anyone know if they are hand fit with super tight tolerances that require a 500 round break-in period or are they ready to go out of the box type pistols?
Jim can say whatever he wants about how much he hates the 1911, As long as he continues being the Gun Guru that he is... Then he's literally entitled to what he likes and don't like, I can't stand those that don't like Firearms at all, so put whatever gun down that you want, as long as you have a Gun to base your experienced opinion off of.
