It's flaxseed, he says it at 4:20 into the video. You're welcome. EDIT: as long as you're reading this, buy Bitcoin! Wealth will lower your blood pressure, too😂😂
After watching this video, I bought a bag of ground flaxseed from Amazon to try it out. My blood pressure was (always) very high. After two weeks it’s dropped within normal range. Yes, I take bp meds but nothing seemed to help lower it. I’m so happy I came across this. I trust these guys. Good luck with yours.
You guys are true saints. I dropped my blood pressure 30 points systolic and 20 points diastolic using flax seed and apple sauce. I added 1 tbsp chia seeds for good measure along with beet root extract supplements. Full disclosure I added 25 min cardio per day too and lost 20 lbs. the point is you guys got me going down the path of a) measuring my blood pressure daily and b) putting more focus on my health. Blood pressure is not a disease, it’s an indicator of a problem. And simply lowering blood pressure thru meds does not solve the underlying condition that caused the heart to increase the pressure to get sufficient oxygen to the organs. Thanks again guys!
@@samuraisamu6307 You can also eat beets or juice 🥤 it with ginger and apple 🍏 for fast results. I did before my physical I had and it dropped real quick. But definitely you need to keep moving. Walking, bicycling, weight lifting 🏋🏾♀️ or yard work.
My husband’s BP on April 3rd, 2024 was 170/110. We immediately went to our GP, where it shot up to 200/110. The GP referred my husband to a cardiologist who recommended a list of tests and gave Logimax 5/50, half a pill once or twice a day, depending upon how he was feeling. The BP still floated around 150/100 or around. I started reading about what I could do. First thing I did was stop him from finishing up an entire family pack of chips!! Luckily for us, he was a smoker and drank only socially. By today May 3rd, 2024, his BP is around 120/90… he has skipped his meds once in a while but here are the changes we have made to his diet, habits, activities, etc. Diet: No more than 10 grams of salt a day Lots of cucumber, tomatoes, red grapes, blackberries, blueberries, apples (MUST at each meal) Carb consumption is literally 10% of what he used to eat earlier. Regardless of what people say, 2 eggs (soft boiled) No packaged foods at all Replaced rice with quinoa All foods are cooked with flaxseed powder (sautéed veggies, lentils, whatever you make). He used to be a coffee drinker, which has been stopped. Now he drinks a “tea” that is just a bunch of spices I’ve ground and mixed and stored in a glass bottle. I mix it with my tea mix. Boil a tablespoon each of spice mix and tea mix in 1500 ml of water, fill in a jug and store overnight in the refrigerator to be sipped on the day next. The spice mix and tea mix is as below: Spice mix: Nigella seeds Fenugreek seeds Cumin seeds Coriander seeds Fennel seeds Cloves Cinnamon Tea Mix: Green Tea Lemon Verbena Rooibos Chamomile (Note: I found tea bags, so I just had to cut them and take out the tea, make a mix and store.) Keep a mix of all the above, upto you, you can make a fine powder or not… just store in a cool dry place, air tight container. I like to take a tablespoon of each, boil in hot water for 10 minutes and serve with: Slivers of fresh ginger Honey Fresh lemon juice (if I have any patience left in me). Exercises: He walks 30 minutes twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening Isometric exercises like wall sits and planks, etc. Breathing (take a lung full of air through your nose in 2 installments, hold 4 to 6 seconds, breathe out of your mouth in 2 installments. This is an Indian breathing exercise and it IMMEDIATELY works). Sleep - he is (& HAS to treat sleeping as an exercise for a better life, so he meditates for about 4 minutes (that’s all he can do before he starts talking 🙄🙄) before TRYING to sleep for 8.5 hours. He sleeps far less, but it’s the mindfulness that matters. Also his phone gets confiscated. Point is, diet, exercise, food as medicine, mindfulness, mindset, everything has to come together to heal the symptoms AND the cause. But here the fun part. While I have been reading and making immediate strict changes and throwing a VERY reluctant man out of the house for his walks and etc, my shoulders have become so sore, like I’m Atlas. So yes, it’s true when the statistics say that single women like happier and longer than the married women. 😂😂 Of course the above “rules” will relax in time, but right now he understands that everything is connected to everything, he is only as good as a LinkedIn advertisement for a role, he is NOT responsible for the company’s P&L, and there no alternative to being healthy. If he enjoys working, he should consider being healthy as well. No one likes a sick employee.

2T GROUND FLAX SEED DAILY. Stir in unsweetened applesauce, over salads, in yogurt, or any other food you eat. Lowering sodium use is another suggestion they had in the beginning of the video. How Not To Die book by Dr Greger.
I always respected you guys, but when you mentioned Dr. Greger, I was IMPRESSED! You are very knowledgeable, incredibly helpful, but your best gift to us is how open-minded you are to new ideas that really work! THANK YOU.
Thank you so much !! It really helps lower my blood pressure from 150/100 to 115/75. It took me few weeks to see the result(2 tbsp before bed). I have no idea that one food will change my blood pressure so much and i am off from my medication(covasc 5mg). I am so grateful! Ty again!
For me, celery, beets, cucumber extracted juice work great lowering my BP. I went from 160/87 to 116/70 in less than 2 months. My doctor was extremely excited, as I had a brain aneurysm due to the high blood pressure. I was pregnant a that time too! Can you imagine? Thanks God both my son and I are good, so far.
Celia Pacheco, thank you very much for this information. I would like to try this remedy so can you explain the amounts of each that you juice and how much you consume each day. Thanks.

*GROUND Flaxseed goes rancid extremely fast.* MUST Refrigerate. Better yet, buy whole seeds and grind small amounts at a time with a coffee grinder. Rancid oil is extremely unhealthy.
Robin Servetter Exactly. I always keep my ground flaxseed in the freezer. I put it on my greens salad everyday. BTW I have the book they mentioned. It’s excellent. Dr Greger has a great web site.

I had irregular heartbeats (PVC's) and high BP for years. About six months ago I saw this video and started adding flaxseed to smoothies. I no longer have the irregular heartbeats, at least not noticeably as before. I can't prove flaxseed did it, but I will keep taking it. My BP is also lower, but I am also on BP medicine.
I have been having border line BP all these years. On average it sits right at 140-150/ 85-95 consistently and that is when I am totally relax. Under stress it shot up to 160/100 easy. Tried everything on the internet including youtube but nothing works. Exercise almost 5 days a week and having a BMI of only 20 and I prep my food all the time without consuming excessive salt, do not smoke or drink alcohol at all. Consulted numerous doctors as I do not wanna go for medication to control my BP, and most of them concluded that I am most probably suffering from white coat syndrome as few of them put me thru 24 hr ambulatory BP monitor and it came back my BP recorded normal reading. Not totally convinced with that, I never gave up exploring every thing that might help. To my surprised, lately I discovered my elevated BP reading was actually due to insufficient protein intake to my daily diet. Once I consistently hit my protein macro after tracking my calories and macro daily, my health improves significantly and not to mention I no longer suffer from insomnias which haunted me for the past 15 years at least. Do not under-estimate the importance of your macro, protein especially, it is so vital in helping your body to lose weight and maintain precious muscles and most importantly your BP. Give it a shot before you blame it on salt intake, our body needs salt to function properly and buy quality salt for yourself if you value your own health. In short, PROTEIN solves my BP issue
Please warn people that flax seed (ground) can turn rancid very quickly. I bought from a reputable shop, but broke out in hives as soon as I used it the first time. It's better to buy whole flax seeds and ground a little bit at a time. Also, you need to keep it refrigerated.
My BP was high and I think it was all due to stress and anxiety at work. My whole life my BP was normal, and only in the last 1.5 years it would jump to 150/95 or so. My doctor, of course, wanted to prescribe pills. I said no to that. First of all, I'm very healthy otherwise, have normal weight, my blood work is excellent, have no other diseases/conditions, I eat healthy and cook at home. I don't drink alcohol, and don't smoke. So I tried to get my BP under control myself. I started doing intermittent fasting ( 16-18 hrs), I added 1 grapefruit per day, 1-2 crushed fresh garlic cloves with meal, hibiscus tea, added Mukta Vati ( supplements from India that help to lower BP mainly caused by stress/anxiety), breathing exercises. After about a week, my BP already dropped to 130/85, then to 120s/75. I check my BP every day and can't believe how simple measures that I undertook lowered my BP naturally!
I’m going to tell you about five common ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen that can cure high blood pressure. 1) Pomegranate juice - This elixir has enough medicinal value to earn the name ‘wonder fruit.’ Scottish researchers from Queen Margaret University have identified how amazing it works for lowering blood pressure. 2) Celery - A recent study based in China, published by the National Institute of Health (NIH), hails celery as a great natural option for reducing blood pressure. More than 87% of the participants showed a reduction in blood pressure after consuming celery regularly. 3) Melatonin - It’s been used for years as a natural sleeping medicine with no side effects. But surprisingly, an Italian research study published in the American Journal of Hypertension shows it also brings blood pressure down while you sleep. 4) Hawthorn - Hawthorn extract and hawthorn berries have been shown to have very good blood pressure-lowering effects, almost equivalent to prescription drugs. The best thing about hawthorn is that it not only lowers blood pressure, but also strengthens heart muscles. 5) Quercetin - A study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition has reported that a 200 mg supplement of quercetin increased levels of nitric acid in the blood, thus dilating blood vessels and lowering blood pressure. But we saved the best for last. The most effective, quickest and easiest way to lower blood pressure naturally are 3 easy blood pressure exercises. Click here : tinyurl.com/yy2443ya?
Reading the excellent advice in the comments, I'm thinking Bob and Brad should update this video with some of that information: -ground flax seed, not whole -keep it refrigerated -flaxseed may have effects on hormones -use flax seed, not oil etc. Those comments were more helpful to me than this particular video (sorry guys-I hate to leave a negative comment. Love the PT videos though 😊)
Research has shown that the BP taken at a doctor's office is way off of what an individual's BP actually is. The best way to take the BP is through ambulatory means. In other words, that is wearing a portable cuff and the BP being taken over a 24-hour period. Several years back a study was done in Australia where 8500 patients were given a portable cuff and the BP taken over a 24-hour period. Then, the BP was taken by a nurse and later by a doctor. It was found that when the nurse took the BP it was 17 points higher than the ambulatory BP. When the doctor took it the BP was 29 points higher. The fact is that most doctors don't take into account what is termed "white coat hypertension" or the anxiety of getting the BP taken at a doctor's office. Need to also remember that BP changes constantly and that is why ambulatory BP is the most effective means of gaining the numbers. The thing about anxiety is they most of the time you never realize that you are anxious. So, it is difficult to know whether the BP is high because of anxiety or not. You can also get this same kind of anxiety with your taking your BP at home. But usually your BP will be lower at home than at the doctor's office. Many researchers are stressing the ambulatory BP means over that at the doctor's office. I truly recommend that you watch this video (3 blood pressure exercises that you can use to reverse your blood pressure) click here:get-videos.website/curehighbloodpressure/
You can lower your own blood pressure in most cases by just doing deep breathing and then take your BP again. If you decide you are cutting back on salt, then drink more water and lose weight, you can lower blood pressure in most cases. My BP is always good and I put 1 Tblsp ground flaxseed in my oatmeal daily. My BP is usually 110/66. If I take 2 Tblsps instead for a month, my BP drops more and then I get dizzy when I get up. So I use 1 and that works well for me.
My husband tried ground flaxseed consistently for over a year with no benefit to his blood pressure. I guess everyone's system is different, and you have to find what works for you.
Then have him try a diet change like the one recommended in the book. Another good book that touches on the topic of diet and high blood pressure is Proteinaholic. Cheers.
Grind your own flax and add it to your food when are ready to eat. Do not grind any ahead Do not heat or cook flax If you buy flax oil it should have a pleasent flavor If not don't consume Unless you can buy locally it is very hard to find fresh flax oil Ground flax is an excellent source of fiber. Hemp oil may be a better oil than flax oil as it does not spoil as easy It should be kept refrigerated Never heat any oil that is high in omiga 3 GOOD LUCK PS try a vegan diet for. 2 or 3 weeks. You wiil be amazed Eat a wide variety Organic is best No refined foods of any kind
So glad you revealed this! I do have ground Flaxseed, have it sometimes in my oatmeal such as this AM. AND just had some in some applesauce. It is VERY GOOD! I’ve also found that taking magnesium as a supplement, also lowers blood pressure. This got me down from from 140/80 to 111/51! It’s also been helping me sleep as I’ve suffered from bouts of insomnia for many years! This also helped my husband as he loves his salt shaker, but I’ve also switched to Morton’s Lite Salt. As I do not add salt when I cook, this has helped a lot too. Keeping ourselves well and off of prescription meds is important. These meds are not derived from food and so our bodies have trouble clearing these from our bodies and in older people, like me (I’m 69) these toxins can build up and cause other problems. Best is to find foods which heal and they won’t give you Alzheimer’s which my dad died of, nor diabetes like he had too and was on both a Statin and Diabetic medication and heart meds. My mother also lost her mind but she died as a consequence of breast cancer as did my sister. My defense is to eat a Whole Food Plant-Based diet. I learn all the time. And that I am retaining the information means I am avoiding the Alzheimer’s too. Thank you so much for sharing this information!

On your advice I've been taking flax seed regularly with yogurt for a few months. It also helped my IBS. After watching this video again, I rushed to the library and borrowed the book you recommended. And surprise, I was able to get it right now, no wait list! Thank you!
I thought they were going to say bananas. I had the same problem this lady had. My blood pressure was really high (160/90) and I was having headaches every day. My cardiologist prescribed me Lisinopril and I took it for 8 months. I started eating foods high in potassium: bananas, oranges, oatmeal, milk, cheese, avocado, yogurt and a lot of water. 8 months later, my blood pressure was normal. It has been normal for more than 5 years now. I know the problem may comeback one day; therefore I keep checking my blood pressure every week.
Hello.... did you start eating those foods high in potassium while still taking lisinopril? That's awesome you're BP med free! I just started lisinopril 2 months ago and want to eat healthy and exercise so that I can get off this med.
@@sonyas7422 Yes, I did. exercising, drinking lots of water, eating bananas, oranges, avocados, etc. Also cooking more at home. Losing 10 pounds makes a big difference in your hypertension. At the beginning I was taking Lisinopril 15 mg; I think it was after 2 months the dosage was decreased to 10 mg. Then a few more months and the dosage went down to 5 mg. After a while, I did not need the med anymore.

The best thing is to do as much as you can do and see what happens. I was able to drop it from 150/100 to 110/65 but I cut out salt, lost 20 lbs and I increased my run to 40 miles a week. The more you can do the better.
You run nearly 6 miles a day and still had blood pressure problems? Athletes that train that much typically don't have 20 extra pounds they can lose either. They are already pretty much as lean as they can get without resorting to drugs or eating disorders.

Watched an earlier video they did about flaxseed and breathing myBP was 161/ 101 ,taken by a visiting nurse I had bought an electric monitor but hadn't ever used it thought it was too complicated she showed me and couldn't believe how easy it was, over the weekend took it but I was a nervous wreck waiting on the numbers which were higher because of the stress of thinking I'm going to have a stroke, how and ever I used Bob and Brad's video because of their calming effect of distressing a situationAfter a week of putting their advice to work my readings went to 134/ 71 and continues to do well even had 124/68.
There is a strict regime for taking B.P. Sitting quietly, having the right sized Cup, not speaking, relaxing, having feet on ground. Search online for the right protocol. Otherwise the readings are simply not going to be accurate.
@ cool! That's quite rapid. If his wife has any atherosclerosis/Cardiovascular Disease in her family I'd consider she have a stress test and/or ultrasound of her veins to see if hardening of the arteries and narrowing could be a contributing reason for the high bp.
Everyone please manage your high blood pressure consistently. Not properly treating Hbp can damage your brain , I didn’t know this until it happened to my mom.
Keep the whole flaxseed in the cupboard but once ground, should be kept in the refrigerator otherwise it will go rancid. 1 T of ground flaxseed is delicious on top of steel cut oats with sweet cherries. Yum!
I'm 69 y.o. and have consumed more salt (not table salt) than anyone I know. I even put about a fourth tsp. in my mouth and drink it with water to make sure I stay hydrated. My blood pressure runs around 106/65. IN Europe your wife would never be given a blood pressure drug with her BP numbers. People on keto oftentimes get off their BP meds. I take potassium chloride and magnesium twice/day and do low carb. My HDL zoomed up 20 points to 98; LDL went down 15 points; triglycerides run about 55 - has helped doing intermittent fasting also. Every time one takes a blood pressure drug they increase their risk of stroke 30%.

K2 is essential to clear out arterial calcificiattion. Try making scrambled eggs with just the yolks, like I do.

Thank you for sharing...my pressure is around 139/89 and I begin not to feel so good at that range. I'm buying flaxmeal now. Praise God! I started back doing my exercise too. I have no choice otherwise I'll need meds.
My husband and I have been using Flaxseed for several months and it has lowered even my blood pressure which was in the normal range. My husband's blood pressure was higher but still ok and now he is in a range where he may be able to ditch some of the meds. WE LOVE FLAXSEED!
You can save money by buying whole flaxseeds and grind them in a coffee grinder. It works perfectly! The nutrients will also be extra fresh and potent when freshly ground. You can grind up just the amount you want each time, or grind some extra and store it in airtight container in fridge. It will often cost only half as much as compared to buying pre-ground flax.
@@dragondescendant1, some stores keep it in the baking aisle, some keep it in the cereal aisle, some keep it in the health food aisle. The people at customer service should know.
Every person’s body’s deficiency (ies) is different but I appreciate knowing this! I agree with the commenter below, ground flaxseed goes rancid quicker than whole seeds, so refrigerate in between uses. Maybe considered purchasing a mini grinder. Instead of limiting my sodium, I have issues with being overweight so I cut the carbs and my values went down nicely. In my case, insulin was the culprit, so lowering my carb intake caused my body to let go of the sodium and other and minerals (potassium/magnesium). It’s important to note that these minerals (ALL OF THEM) will have to be added back into the diet to keep the muscles from cramping, or becoming sluggish.
Me last time at the hematologist (I have hemachromatosis): 2nd story climb to his office: BP 142/83. Downstairs intake for phlebotomy 15 minutes later: 133/78. Post phlebotomy: 123/70. Three BPs taken within an hour of each other. Three different readings.
One of my friends has the "white coat hypertension" they mention... her blood pressure goes up whenever she is in for anything medical. At home, or even at the corner drug store, she tests and it's NEVER high!
Dark chocolate works really well for me! It takes about a hour but it lasts for hours! Eat it with a banana in the morning and it will stay down almost all day! Then drink a glass of beets and your blood pressure will be good all day! But if u really want it to get better go for a fast half mile walk 3 times a week! And it will get completely better! These three things do them all and u will notice a big difference in your blood pressure!
Dark chocolate eh? Well, I've been eating some every day for ages and my doctor says that I have the blood pressure of a youngster. However, I do also do aerobic exercise at least a couple of times a week and walk two or three miles most days... On the negative side my blood pressure can be highish when I have had it tested in other clinical environments _ this may be 'white coat syndrome' ... not really sure. The dark chocolate that I eat is cheap supermarket own brand... and my dentist said that it's good for the teeth - in moderation!
yes but if one is taking bp meds .. and adding other suppliments that could be dangerous. I take 4 different bp meds and one interacts with omega 3 oil really quick. and drops my bp very low.
Right dark chocolate relaxes the arteries by like 40% which lets the blood flow more freely with less pressure against the inside of the arterial walls . Red wine is good , cinnamon , oatmeal etc just google foods .
Two very important points: GROUND flaxseed (or grind your own from whole flaxseeds); Refrigerate the flaxseed. We vegans are familiar with ground flaxseed. When baking, replace each egg with 1Tbs ground flaxseed mixed in 3Tbs water, then let sit for five mins. Same gelatinous consistency as an egg.
Yes, I think they should have emphasized it needs to be GROUND organic flaxseed you eat. I buy mine whole and grind a week’s supply every week in a coffee bean grinder. I keep both ground and whole in the freezer. At room temp the seed oil can go rancid. That’s why I’d never buy it already ground. You don’t know how long it’s been sitting in that bottle on a warehouse or store shelf.
Dr. Greger has videos talking about other health benefits for ground flax. Dr. Greger (the author of "How Not to Die") recommends a whole food plant based diet. He has an ad free RU-vid channel and free web site called nutritionfacts.
Everyone's different...Some can eat anything and never get sick, while others get sick eating healthy foods. I used flaxseed daily, but my bp just chuckled, and continued terrorizing me. I sit in the sun between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm for 20 mins, and VOILA my bp flees! So it's different strokes for different folks.
In my case, "salt" is NOT the cause of my hypertension, but food sensitivities and Candidida/Yeast/Fungus. This explains why I have resistant hypertension.
I drastically altered my diet and have lost weight, but I am still firmly obese via BMI. My blood pressure went from 147/79 to 125/75 in a month of altering my diet. Switched to only lean meats, lots of whole grains with some fruits and veggies. And minimal necessary fats, trying to keep them on the healthy oils side. So can't be sure which food helped. But I suspect I am getting less sodium and a lot less animal sources of saturated fat. But I am 100% on board with whole grains now. And I have been a low carb person for the past 20 years.
You can choose to add a food to decrease BP, or you can choose to remove a food to decrease blood pressure. I did both, added salt and fatty red meat and took away carbs. BP down from 170/90 to 116/80 in a few months. My previously 'healthy' low-fat, high carb (whole grains, fruits and starchy veggies) diet was clearly NOT healthy for me.
I did the same thing with coconut oil. One teaspoon put in mouth, drink down hot coffee. Took 3 months and all my labs were at normal ranges. I was at and over 140/90 but elderly so they did not care. Coconut Oil works.
Actually two supplements lowered my pressure after my cardiologist couldn’t get it down below 150/90. I now take 250mg of Magnesium (oxide and Gluconate) before I go to sleep. It’s also a great sleep aid. When I wS a patient at NYU Langone in early Oct they gave me a magnesium drip to lower because I was slightly deficient. GNC works for me. I also started taking the Amino Acids l- Arginine and Ornithine with the Magnesium. It lowered my pressure quickly by over 10 pts on both pressure levels. No side effects except a great night’s sleep. I get the Amino acid duo at Vitamin Shoppe - their brand. Really worked my internist was impressed I take one Amino Acid tab - not 2 as shown on bottle but but no problem taking both. Pretty amazing. Fairly inexpensive per day for both.
Beet root powder worked wonders for me I was so skeptical at first but gave it a try and honestly it's amazing.. Also gonna start taking the magnesium oxide at night before bed as well🙏🏽
Ground flaxseed goes really well with oatmeal! I’ve found the brown flaxseeds to give more desirable texture, combining very nicely with the oatmeal, while it seems the golden flaxseed gives a more pasty consistency.
I buy 25 pounds bag Golden Flax seeds from Seven Day Adventist Health Foods, grind it up and take 4 tbsp daily for 20 years without knowing it is good to lower blood pressure. I inherited heart problems and strokes from family. I am 77 exercises daily if my health permits, healthy eater, with VERAPAMIL 240mg blood pressure medication my records are: 123/82 to 130/83; after work out a-lot lower 101/67 to 110/74
@@michelleconnor7669 till it looks sorta like brown sugar. Like where it’s enough that you don’t see any that actually look like the little seeds left. (Not terrible if you don’t grind it to that small, but the whole seeds won’t really absorb nutrients into your body.) Grind in coffee grinder for like 10-30 seconds should do it. Depends on how much you try grinding.
I tried everything. Flax seeds. Celery. Garlic. Hibiscus tea. Beets. Nothing worked until a doctor put me on Losartin. Brought my systolic down round 50 points and diastolic down around 30 practically overnight. I still eat the flax seeds and celery and I love garlic in everything. But I wouldn't count on them.
BP is also genetic, I work out, I'm vegan, I don't drink alcohol or smoke and I'm ideal weight, I hiit train 3 times a week and walk everyday 6miles I don't have salt anywhere near me and I still have slightly high BP both my parents had high BP it's frustrating
When you say slightly high, what is that, 120's or low 130's? That use to be considered great BP, but they have repeatedly lowered the standards , to sell more BP drugs, on which the med industry makes billions. Also, one's BP fluctuates by 10, 15, or more points even within minutes, and it's totally normal, plus it's often 10 or more pts higher at a doctor's office due to the "white coat effect."
You should get the seeds and grind them (with a coffee grinder) Flaxseeds (Only grind what you need, as flaxseed tends to spoil quickly once it's ground. You can buy bags of pre-ground flaxseed meal at the store if you need the convenience factor, but it's best to use up your supply quickly, as it can start to go rancid a few weeks after opening the package)
@@linanicolia1363 Well, don't know about that, but discovered I can't take them. I took (two tablespoons) and had a nose bleed. First time in a long time, so I thought back, and I use to get nosebleeds often (and it was while I was using flaxseed. I hadn't for way over a month, cause I broke my arm and didn't feel like messing with grinding them . Then I saw this video and thought I'd get back to it - nosebleed the next day. I might try using less.
Put them in the fridge or freezer problem solved, save your time from having to grind them, people who work and are busy don't have time to add more steps to do in life.
but u can use garlic instead.I tried it and my systolic decreased from 143 to 123 in just 5 days whereas my diastolic was constant 80. It works by thinning your blood.
The standard BP in the UK is 140/80....US makes it lower to sell pills. Love Dr Greger and his work along with the rest of the plant based doctors You can have normal BP and still be pretty unhealthy..the numbers arent everything!
Yes! I’m American living in the UK and my bp has been creeping up a bit with age. If I still lived in America I’m sure I would be on tablets, but my UK doctor said my levels are at the higher end of still acceptable. I probably range from 137 to 141 over 88-91. Medical care is very different when doctors aren’t being influenced to push certain pills for perks from pharmaceutical companies. That doesn’t happen in the UK and it took me years to change the mindset I developed in America where I could expect a prescription for every little thing. Uk National Health Service has its pros and cons, having lived on both sides of the pound, but the NHS website guidance on blood pressure does vary from American bp charts slightly. I’m sure I might be on tablets if I still lived in the USA. I’m going to try this potassium method to reduce.
@@nette9836 sry I deleted my response. My diet is the key, its lowered if I eat 5 small meals per day. Oatmeal , fruits , mixed nuts , raisin bread and salad, a bowl off mixed vegetables, Each equal a meal , but these are all my in betweeners that bridge me from brunch to dinner. The pressure is lowered whenever fiber foods in betweeners are being consumed through out the day, every 2hours. My fasting theory for losing weight will never work for me with hbp. Oh well listen to your body. Everyone is difference, purchase a machine and monitor your numbers every day. This will save your life❤
@@josephh4539 OMG no! You are setting yourself up for skinny fat issues. 5 high carb meals a day means your body is constantly producing insulin and never having time to heal. I had high BP as a whole food plant-based regular eater like you, now I have good BP as a high-fat intermittent fasting carnivore LOL!
The beetroot tablets(2 a day) dropped my blood pressure 10 points top number and bottom number(I also take hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg ), the beetroot also silent 88% of my heart palpitations I was having( they're basically gone) I'd have to smoke a pack of cigarettes in one day in order to get one now and maybe not even then(I no I no I'm trying to stop!!😉) my blood pressure was 140 over 104-100 now its 124 over 87 - 82( it's not the best but that's alot better for me imma try the flaxseed in combination with the beat root and see what happens) I'm 42 yrs young Afro American!!! Shalawam everyone ✌❤🙏................
The "white coat syndrome" isn't a few points, as most doctors and nurses think. A study done in Australia several years back measured ambulatory BP against that measured at the doctor's office by the nurse and the doctor and they found a significant difference. With 8,500 subjects that when the BP is measured by the nurse it is 19 point higher than the ambulatory BP. When it is measured by the doctor it is 27 points higher. That is a huge difference and it is generally not taken into account when the BP is measured. (BBC News Friday, 7 May 2010 "Doctors Raise Blood Pressure") The most accurate means of measuring blood pressure is with the 24 hour ambulatory cuff. That tends to be much lower than even that taken at home and especially that taken at the doctor's office. The fact is, 140/80 is not that bad. You'll find in the following article that intervention isn't necessary until the diastolic reaches around 100. Then, lifestyle changes are necessary as a start, not drugs. There was an article in the journal Science some 25 years ago where the argument between sodium and BP were discussed. Both pros and cons were dealt with. It came down to the fact that it depends on the person. Some people's system just have a problem tolerating sodium. Others don't have that problem. See: Journal of Clinical Hypertension SUPPL. 2 VOL. 8 NO. 8 AUGUST 2006 "Historical Perspectives on the Management of Hypertension" by Marvin Moser, M.D.
I just turned 40 on my drivers license. I lowered my blood pressure from 160 to 122 in 4 hours. 2 teaspoons of Calm Magnesium 2 teaspoons of organic msm sulfur crystals. 15 minutes of breath excersizes. Underrated. Learn to appreciate turtle mode. Let go. Fear is never your friend. Notice how you feel about your health blood pressure etc. Afraid? Feel the fear. Ask yourself if you can let it go. Ask repeatedly until you notice a release. I don’t recommend you do this yourself. I am not a doctor and I am not your doctor. Talk to your doctor and do your own research.
Dr. Greger (the author of "How Not to Die") recommends a whole food plant based diet. He has an ad free RU-vid channel and free web site called nutritionfacts.
I have a feeling she did more than just eat 2T of ground flax seed to get her BP down. He already said she cut out a large amount of sodium by stopping the soup broth. So I suspect there are other BP-lowering factors in play here. But still, I’m going to buy some ground flax seed and unsweetened applesauce tomorrow! Thanks!
You can also sprinkle it on your cereal or use it in a smoothie or just a glass of milk/milk substitute w/ground flax. You can even give it to your pets if they are plugged up.
You should not buy ground flax seed in bulk as it gets deteriorated within a few days. Buy raw flax seed, grind a week's supply and put it in the fridge in an airtight container. Take 2 tablespoons a day. Once the week is over, grind it again and repeat.
For some time (around Two years), I was maintaining my prescription medication to keep my high blood pressure not until this month I recently found about this 4BloodPressureRemedy.blogspot.com therapy. A doctor has verified it too. Really dont require the drugs previously prescribed to me. .
Thanks for letting people know about Dr. Greger. I keep telling my daughter about your channel everytime she complains about aches and pains. Thanks for all you do. The flax seed must be ground. I add mine to oatmeal with blueberries. Yummmm
A recipe that makes for a good quick meal: Brown rice Black beans Salad mix Chicken Pico de gallo I started eating that often (along with bananas for snacks) and it dropped my BP from 146 to 122 in about a month.
I too was in the high 150/89 average and using a teaspoon of ground flax seed with oatmeal in the morning and yogurt in the evening my average is now 127/67. Of course I also started walking a mile regularly in the morning and the evening. Cut out processed foods and sweets.
For over 6 years my BP became normal just because of eating 3 types of fruits. In 2008 I shifted my residence from near my office to about 15 kilometres away. So I started to go to hotel for lunch, but hotel food lead to gastric problem. So instead of going to hotel I started to eat 3 fruits, apple, orange and another one we call here in India as supota. And after a week my bp was normal and I stopped having tablet for over 6years. But after 6years again I am having table every day.
Yes you should eat it within 15 minutes maybe 20 max..I learned that from The Johanna Budwig Diet. Grind it up in like a little grinder then put it in organic cottage cheese if you wish and you can add flaxseed oil also and maybe some walnuts for taste and eat within 15 minutes for best results.
Also loses much of its beneficial potencies after having been stored ground. It can easily be chewed whole, it has a pleasant taste. Just make sure to chew thoroughly as any unchewed seed passes through the digestive system unaltered.
